No, that is not how women look in the Israeli military.
That is how Israeli women look everywhere, since every women who is unmarried at the age of 18 - which is like in Greece, most of the population - has to join the military.
It is often said by tourists that come here, that we have some of the best looking women in the world and we like to give credit to the fact that we have a mix of different origin countries to the people that came here. So you have a Russian marrying an Ethiopian and the children look great. You have a Polish marrying a Moroccan and that is another great combo.
That girl in the first picture of your link is Agam Rodberg who is now studying acting in NY (USA). She got out of the military last year and is a famous actor in children TV shows. She is only about 150cm in height and although very cute, is not available here in Israel. However, she is NOT considered to be one of our great beauties. We have far far better! including my GF!!! :D

For this one you don't have to join the military... you have two other options:
The first is to get yourself injured! Look closely at her red arm badge and you'll see she is in the Medical core... so I won't be surprised if you suddenly feel not too well! ;-)
The second option is to go out in Tel-Aviv at night time and I promise you her and another several thousand like her only without the uniform! Though I guess you can probably find a shop somewhere and buy her a sexy outfit you like... Israeli soldier, French maid, Russian cocktail waitress... ;-)

It's all media hype and sensationalism! I can certainly understand you as what you hear and see in the media is pretty awful. But it is exactly the same as saying that you are afraid to go to NY because Al-Qaeda will attack there again. ...and you should know better than believing what the media has to say. Besides, we are the hi-tech/bio-tech centre of the world, high rise buildings and fantastic night life, sports, beaches and did I mention the women already? ;-)
Of course something bad can happen, but hey, you have a greater chance getting run over by a car when you cross the street in Athens. If you get run over in Israel, you'll have a pretty girl take care of you :)
