Thank you very much . It's very interesting , Nearly in all europian languages they use the word "revolution" or it's transformation . But you have got your own word :)))

I am helping one professor (he is filolog) to collect words in europion languages which don't use latin words . I think greak is the leader in this case :))

Of course Greek has the lead.
Latin and (ancient) Greek have no common root between them. They were two completely different languages in ancient times.
As the years have passed by, Latin evolved into Spanish, Italian, French and partly English and German, which are being used nearly all over the world, while Ancient Greek evolved into modern Greek, which is being used mainly in Greece.

Thus, there is no reason to wonder why this difference is for. ;)

There are plenty of greek words adopted by english, german and so on...!

For example the "filolog" comes from the greek word "Φιλόλογος" which is consited of two other words. "Φίλος" + "Λόγος" ("filos" + "logos" in greeklish").

Another interesting word is "Papa". In greek we use the word "Μπαμπάς" and in greeklish it's "Mpampas". You may notice that if you ommit the letter "M" from the greeklish word you take the english one.

There are many other greek words used in english like Democracy, Monopoly, all the phobias(like chromatophodia and so on), politics, economy and many more.

One the other hand we have adopted many newer english words like Manager, Marketing and others.

That's right . I know about international words that nearly all nations use .

It's because of culture . You have ancient culture that influenced all world . Even now people use greek words ,especially in science.
