I myself was also there in HT (Manuboys and maratha warriors) for 2+ years before they banned me.. Now i have started a new team (Hattrick rockers).. I agree with the midfield combination mentioned by bhavesh (i myself used it to win a lot of games.. Bought a magical PM and i was ruling mf big time). And the defence training issue was a bug which has been resolved..
The issue with HT is in the gameplay.. We have very strict rules regarding the formations and obviously the No-Substitutes issue really removes most of the planning in a match.
But then wat i feel is tat HT (being first online football manager game) is much more popular and correspondingly it has got much more sponsorship and related tools.. which is wat i feel is pulling Sokker behind. Tell me how many new managers come to know of the Sokker tools from the website itself?? It has to b communicated thru sumone.. For eg- I came to know of the tools thru De Generaal...
The Sokker admins need to make the main website a bit more interactive and informative so tat ppl dont join and then leave in less than 3-4 weeks...

sokker needs something like HT certificate or TM FICA certificate so newer managers
can understand sokker tools better

I think we posted more posts in national forum in the last three days than last three months
for me the main problem is the youngsters associates themself with players and less with managers.
They believe that such games is waste of time.
i never discuss this games with my friends bcoz they think i am just wasting time.
and also many of them doesnt have interest in football.

three months!!....i guess in two years, this has been the most active phase....but its awesome to see everybody pool in their thoughts
i have been playing hattrick, battrick and sokker for a little less than 2 years now. I started all of them more or less at the same time .. when i was doing my PG...and had a lot of time....
to be honest i used to play another one....and I swear none of the ones being discussed even comes close to it .... IT SUCKS BIG TIME
its called acemasters....a Belgian lawn tennis management game...conceptually similar to these....there was a point when I was possibly the only player playing it from India ... used to be happy to be the leader with the early entrant advantage when others join in :)) ....but then realized nobody joined/played and though I was leading...and my players were the best .. there was no second manager :)))...so whom am I leading :))... ofcourse I did find the only other Indian manager though dormant in my good old sokker friend Priyo. We tried to compete a little with eachother....but pals...its so bloody boring...I had to quit...
Anyways coming back to this discussion...I do like BT as I feel it has the best UI amongst these and training tactics requored are also crucial...their transfer market is very good and the BT team works very hard to improve the game as a whole...between SK and HT...even I feel SK is better. I disagree to the point someone made that HT has a good youth training program, because my experience has been pretty bad with it. One thing which I feel good is about HT is the number of tools it has....which I know none for SK. Maybe we should build similar tools and contribute. But for the rest, the game engine, the logic used. the tactics editor, and the sunday afternoon live match .... boy that truly make SK a much more superior game. HT does have the advantage of being more than 10 years old (I hope I am not quoting the wrong figure) and the first amongst all these online management games....
Anyways ....this seems to be now a great forum...live and kicking...I believe this too should make the new managers more interested in the game and would also help us know each other. The committee formed is also a great concept, at least I ave seen it to be a great success in BT.
Wish you guys all the success, and do let me know, if I could help you.
I believe all you need to be in this game is a passion for football and a liking for strategy games...not just the usual joystick or left-right arrow keys :))....I myself am in the 25+ age group...working now....and know atleast 2 managers of my age and working too ...who love this game and are dedicated players....as they are also in the NFL...which obviously means that they are pretty diligent
cheerios!!

I put it as three months as that is my age on sokker.............
I don't have much Idea about what happened before that

still only seven managers(including De Generaal) have given there views/ideas
Bhavesh's trick seems to have worked atleast on me...
I cannot say HT is a bad game, but it has got some disadvantages as well.Me too like bhavesh lost some wingback training due to bug. Then they say from 1st july, only 1 youth system will work. What of the money I spend on the either of them?I'm yet to get the fruit out of any of the youth system. The match engine seriously has some disadvantages.
Anyway,Hope I'll have a gr8 time here in SK,and will try to keep the forums active.

Andy, those 2 managers waiting also seemed to have joined as the number is now 29 users
Yeah same with me...The HT youth didnt give me even a single player passable primary skills...and now all the money is wasted.
Welcome Siddhesh to SK ... its good to see the new players joining being so active on the forums....and as I said the forum is more active than it has ever been.

Uve got tht right...Bhavs...Hattrick has become more frustrating than before.
Hattrick, as Siddhesh said has some disadvantages or shd i say many disadvantages. U still lose some matches which u think u will win quite easily. The training system has gone completetly haywire. Even the young players take ages to get trained which is causing a lack of interest in the game. Also the price of players have gone way to high making it impossible to purchase good players of decent age. Hope somethg like his doesnt happen in SK.
Their Youth system is a lottery and doesnt depend on the coach as to how much a player can improve. Even then they r not good enuf to play for the Senior team. And most importantly, no substitutes yet.
All of this contributing to a total lack of interest in Hattrick. Today i prefer SK to Hattrick and Battrick. Its coz of managers like DGeneral, who has educated us abt SK. I totally agree that more training is needed for new joinees.
Today i can c SK going ahead of Hattrick in a few years time. There is still lotta interest for the game in Mumbai, may be lack of knowledge abt the existance of SK is the reason y it is not tht popular. But i still feel it can catch up real soon.
If current managers in SK can spread the word abt SK, then tht time is not far off when SK will be the most popular game.
