I was thinking of holding an U-21 cup for indian teams

It will be straight knockout(to minimize disrupting of training) using friendlies after th national cup

Each team should play only U-21 players
It can be held after national cup
if U-21 is not possible(coz of lack of players)
age can be relaxed by one or two years

lets see who has the best future in India

give suggestions
and remember
that it will be possible only with cooperation

its a good idea ,but who's gonna make friendly cup .We've 0 plus users. And Also how many Indian teams have more than 10 or 11 under 21 players?I myself have only 2 Under 21 players. The idea sounds good but difficult to make.

in that case we can make it U-24 or something like that

and not in form of friendly league
like friendlies
just like mini world cup and U-21 world cup are played
2008-05-30 09:14:23
as for me I have 13 U-21 players but most of them are crap in everything except technique

It will be straight knockout
the knocked out teams can join some friendly leagues etc... for the rest of the season

Mine is also same issue. Best team to compete would be "Pondicherry Prowlers". But Instead of U21, we can have a series of Friendlies with an equivalent NT ratings as that of India
4/6/8 teams from India would Play against Egypt (MISR)
E.g If 4 teams nominated from India then they would play against Egyptians counter part (4 teams)
RKFC vs EGYPT 1
Rajputs vs EGYPT 2
Unsinkables vs EGYPT 3
Mumbai FC vs EGYPT 4

To win Friendly league, India needs to win atleast 3 matches.
-----------------------------------
Most of teams play this format during Off season. This season i recd a number of such offers but was too late.

De General can help out more on that as he used to play same format last season.

you are talking about NSW(national sokker war)
it is played in week 15

the tourney I was talkin abt will be played before that(I expect about 16 teams or even less may be 12 or 8)
max of four weeks or if we play roundrobin It will last longer
but it will be interesting to win 'THE FUTURE'S CUP'

frm next post on post the number of U-21,U-22 and U-24 players you will have next season(their age will increase ,keep that in mind)
2008-05-30 09:29:34
U-19: 5 players
U-21: 13 players
U-22: 13 players
U-24: 18 players
2008-05-30 09:34:53
Pondicherry Prowlers will have 11 U-21 players next season
I think my U-21 player can beat his U-21 players next season
but not this season(his 21yr old players will turn 22 next season)
and I dont have any player with age of 21

is there any other team which can field eleven U-21 players other than me and slade
2008-05-30 09:48:10
comparison bwn Pondicherry Prowlers and Mumbai United
MU position PP
1 GK 0
5 def 4
3 MID 3
3 ATT 2
1 Unknown 2(yet to play a game)

my middies are weak
but he has no keeper a very big setback to play a non keeper as keeper
in case no other team can play an U-21 team will play a two legged friendly with him before an U-24 cup or something similar

average rating
Pondicherry Prowlers:20.44(two players unknown)
Mumbai United:24.5(one player unknown)

the avg rating is calculated using last match played
the players reach much higher ratings than that
2008-05-30 10:19:28
14 under 21 players including foreign players of which 4 below 18 hence not upto the mark.
But can compete in such tournament
2008-05-30 11:11:46
count only players whose age is 20 or below 20
as the 21 yr old players will turn 22 next season
2008-05-30 11:12:44
you just have 8 such players
2008-05-30 11:13:24
maybe we should relax it to U-22
2008-05-30 11:30:59
First of all thanks for such a great response

Those who would like to play in this tournament please don't join any friendly league keep playing single friendlies
I am thinking of running two tournaments
one U-21(strictly below 21)for about 4 or 8 teams max(depends)not many can field such teams

after this tournament is over we can play an U-24 tournament with about 12-16 teams(all active managers)
I am starting two new thread in the forum for signing up(all discussions here)
one for U-21 and the other for the U-24
sign up if you think you can field the required players when the tournament starts(week 7 after the nation cup is regained by priyo)

Good initiative !
Its a good way to force some of the managers to get rid of the older B-players in their teams.

The only thing I must say is that you don't have to be too strict with the rules.
It can happen that someone's A-squad player of 25 is suspended for the League match on Sunday. I think that such a player is allowed to play in the U-24 on Wednesday.
