Subject: [U21] De Generaal

2009-12-11 11:01:00
With the aging of the players today it won't be a match with the golden generation after all....
Difficult to select a worthy U21 team now, hopefully the players have gained some stamina.

Well the qualifying groups are out and It is an average group

Spain will win the group
The three I's will fight for the second spot

Group B
1. España U21
2. India U21
3. Ireland U21
4. Ísland U21
5. Al Maghrib U21
6. República Dominicana U21

Very close group, except for Spain indeed. Ireland is the number 2 when you look at the average rating. Even Al Maghrib (Egypt) is not to be underestimated

Didn't watch the match yesterday but Nitya looked more impressive.Try playing him only in the second half

Tummala's injury will really haunt us.
2009-12-19 13:38:22
We won't miss Tummala much against Spain, that is a game we will loose anyway.
But against Egypt it will be a problem indeed...
2009-12-19 18:04:18
what are the other strike options
2010-01-15 22:01:50
Sourav :)
Still he's very young...

@Generaal: Al Maghrib is not Egypt, is Morocco :P Egypt is Misr (I was coach there :P)

All these weird country names are confusing me ;)
2010-01-22 16:41:17
Sourav!!

Scored his first ever goal :))
And had 2 other chances too...

Hopefully next week will pop in pace :)

With 18 years old already a strong player, he already outruns his opponents ;)
Difficult match by the way, but the result is there !
Next week Ireland U21, the key match. Let's see how they fare against Al Maghrib, who is a bit of an outsider.

Elections have started !

The first 3 matches will be the first ever for India on a final stage of the World Cup.
Really proud to have achieved that, all with your former Juniors offcourse !
Not expecting to win a game at the finals, but the goal is to get 1 point.
The new U21 generation is relatively strong in offence, but a lot of levels weaker in defence and midfield.
After the World Cup we will participate in the U21 Asian Cup, a new initiative which would be very interesting.

Thanks for electing me, I will start my 11th season as NT coach !

Goals for this season:
- scoring at least 1 goal in the World Cup final round.
- Asian Cup : at least getting in the 1/2 finals.
With the chance of drawing Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore, that task will be difficult enough.

The goal for this year is qualifying for the World Cup, we have a talented generation of midfielders and strikers. The only problem I expect is in defence, but I will find a way to deal with that.

With the database getting bigger and bigger, Poey and I agreed on finding a new devoted scout for NT and U21.
Scouting players is a very important but time consuming job, so we are very glad to have found Flash.

1. Brasil U21
2. Israel U21
3. India U21
4. El Salvador U21
5. Shqipëria U21
6. Nicaragua U21

Tough draw, Brasil is way too strong, Israel also has a reasonable good team. One of the stronger upcoming countries.

I am keeping an eye on Indias forum and I saw this thread and decided to get in.
I can tell you that this season I dont think we will have a nice team, our U-21 coach wasnt in the game lately therefore we dont have much knowledge of whats going on.
Compared to other years we dont keep a lot of U-21 players trained in Israel, that should also work for your benefit, as you can see we also got down to the 30th place in the world, which is sad after being at the top 10.

Good luck De General your doing a great job, Dont think there is much chance for India even though its a nice draw for you.
