Like Attila said, next time set up a conditional substitution. Especially when they are coming down 1 flank. You could have even substituted Nema in Nayar's place if he got a red card as there was Chivukula & Ujesh who could have handled the right side.

For all my tough matches I always set this conditional substitute. I can sacrifice a Mid to maintain my defensive line. That way there's a chance I won't concede goals, even if I don't score any.

Yes, in this situation it is best if Nema moved there. Without a central midfielder, we would also only have to defend ourselves. There is only one downside to these assumptions.
