Moldova - India 2:2

It was so close.... Rival scored second goal from penalty in 80'. Iw was devastating for us. Turkiye won with Russia, so 10 minutes and one goal separated us from World Cup:(

Turkiye's coach wrote sk@ to me:

Im sorry for Moldova match, you deserve 3 point and Wc...

It is nice when group strongest team's coach appreciates our team. I must thank panter for his behavior in match against Russia. He treated match seriously.

But at the end Russia is second team who goes to World Cup. I can blame myself for one match - draw against Belarus, there we lost needed points. Other matches were played well by India I think. It was very strong group.

I don't forgot what I said during last elections. I failed with qualifications, so I'm not going to start for another season with NT India.

Three friendlies left, so I'm not going to make serious changes in squad. I'm' leaving this in next NT coach hands. He will have entire friendly season to prepare team for next WCQ. But I'm going to field players who may play in next WCQ, some oldest players will be to old to play then.

It was a very good season....I think our best. I would like to see you continue as NT coach.

A very good qualification, you were so close. The top strikers are getting a bit older now, a bit slower, much depends on their form. Parnika for example hasn't been in form all season.
Thanks for your effort !

Yes, Parnika was practicaly useless, Sudhir is not on top in skills yet (expecialy stamina), so he is capable to play 1/2 of second half, but even he was injured or in poor form when he was most needed. Charu and Rupali are old a bit as you said, so our strike power was not that strong like I wish it will be.

How NT future looks from my perspective? I mean for next WCQ.

Goalkeepers: not bad. Champia is 33yo now, so I doubt he will play in next WCQ. But we have a few keepers who may replace him. Vidvan - good skills but almost always in poor form. Kanetkar is 21yo and already plays above 90. I hope he will be senior NT keeper for many seasons.

Defenders: no worries there. We have plenty of defs on international level.

Midfielders: good. Present NT mids can play in next WCQ (except Ponte I think)

Strikers: not so good. Parnika and Charu can play in theory (they will be 33yo then) so they will need replacements. Rupali will be to old. Sudhir is the only one at the moment who will be at good age during next WCQ. I hope some younger strikers will reach skills shortly to join senior NT. Otherwise our attack will be not strong enough.

I was thinking about some rest from NTs, but if India community wish me to stay, I have no objections to continue my work here. Suggestions about that are welcome.

There are just a handful of active users in India. I'm sure they will all love to see u continue as NT coach.

Just look at this player, not too good as Sudhir but he's okay

magical form

Thanks. I'm taking him under observation. I'm going to search more suitable strikers, maybe I can find one or two who may play. I'm also checking database frequently for updates.
Really good NT striker should play above 75, but when we have no choice, a bit weaker must play if nescessary. When weaker is in top form, he may play quite well.

As always I don't care about NT ranking, so friendly season is for players and tactics preparing, not for results. I hope I proved it is good way to engage a serious fight when WCQ comes. I'm not going to change that approach, so if you want to vote for me again, think twice:)

you've done really well, my vote always going to you if you will contest :)

I totally agree with your approach. That's why once the rankings system started I was always 3rd or 4th for a long time even though I was winning the league and cup. I think this season for the 1st time I'm ranked 1st coz now even my B team is capable of winning friendlies.
2016-01-21 08:26:06
Ranking isn't important, as long as it impossible to reach rank 48 and you don't drop below rank 64 (both are practically impossible). Being in Pot 5 for the World Cup draw would make it even harder to qualify.

But I agree, you should test, especially the young potentials (the extra training for NT is also nice).

It is neverending discussion about NT ranking. Important or not important? We are talking about this on few federations forums where I belong to. Many NT and U21 NT coaches are there.

Voices are still splitted I must say, but considering facts like f.ex. qualification from 5th pot for Singapore and Crna Gora this season, many coaches starting agree with those who saying "ranking is not important, selection and tactics are".

It is obvious for me if team is strong enough and plays good tactics, doesn't matter from which pot team is starting. We are in pot 4. We always will have at least 3 strong teams in group. Even if we will be in pot 3, team from pot 4 will be strong also. Look at Belarus in our group. They were from pot 5 and we lost 2 points with them. Moldova from pot 3 lost 3 points. Everything depends on luck in seeding groups. I've seen much easier groups this season. We were not that lucky.

One way or another we must try to make team strong as possible. I'll try to make some new tactics next season and we'll see what will happen.

Much about luck indeed !
For the Netherlands (currently 17th) I prefer to avoid a group with Romania and Poland. But surprise surprise, last weekend Holland suddenly beat Romania :)

Elections started. My candidature is setted. You all already know about my program so I'll save you from my another speech:). Please vote on me if you trust my way of thinking.

I'm on business travel this and next week so I'll be online not much often.

We schould play with Danmark today according to schedule. But Danmark's coach hasn't accepted my challenge pending from last sunday. I wrote remindig sk@ to him also. He was logged twice this week, he read my reminder but he disregarded my challenge without any word.

I'm sick of managers who makes agreements and pissing off it. It is second time this season when we don't play match because someone is acting this way. Therefore I'm not going to wait for accepting challenges more than to wednesday evening in the future. NT coach position is not for idiots, at least I think it isn't.

It's a pity we don't play matches. I must learn from mistakes.
