Thai doesn't seem dangerous and we managed it well recently. On the other hand we suffer heavy absences this time and it won't be' so easy...
Hi guys, this is our (forced) line up for tomorrow.
As you can see I want to test Naini in the middle, in front of Defence.
I think he can manage a lot of balls with his top palymaking skill even if he is not a good help for defenders....

3 Ratan SubbarayanDEF

Fingers crossed to see multiple goals from Shilpa and Suksma. We need a GD of +2 in this one.
Vietnam vs HK at 13:30 SK time. It's very early into the competition but I'll be rooting for Vietnam to get a big win since HK is our prime rival. If it weren't for so many injuries, I still would have rooted for Vietnam but with the hope of a low GD.

So just a 1-0 win for Vietnam against HK. Stats say 21 shots vs 1 shot and 78% play in the half for HK in 2nd half. Clearly the Vietnamese forwards were sleeping. In the other game, Indonesia beats China PR 8-0! Not a huge difference in avg mark either.

The result was better than I expected as Suksma brings out his best game by scoring a hat-trick of goals. As we had predicted, they went with the same tactic but this time our forwards were better aligned especially Suksma who made full use of the open space and time that he was given for his shots. In fact, majority of the shots were from Suksma. Other than that, our defenders weren't tested even though this time they had 5 shots but from the data, we already knew that their forwards are okayish. Our injuried players continue to increase as this time Gambhir gets a really long injury. So now we have already lost 2 mids to injuries (Tilak and Gambhir) and if Satwant gets injured now, we have absolutely no one. Speaking of Satwant, I really loved his balls from the right towards the center and he played quite well not making us miss Tilak that much. Nikhil this time took more of a supporting role as he gave 2 crucial assists to Suksma. Overall, quite happy with the result, we are off to a winning start with the right GD that we wanted. I don't think HK will be able to have a 3 goal difference against Thailand. In fact, now if we beat HK with a nice margin and draw against Vietnam again, we even have the chance to top the group.
The match was good and Sukusma delightfull. I'm happy with the score and the play we shown but, to tell you the truth, I am a bit disappointed with the low defence line. I think we have to be more agressive there and I made some changes to the tactict. the big problem now is called injuries, vietnam is a strong opponent and we are not in the right pisition to face it. I hope to resume at least Sundaramoorthy but I doubt a lot about it. Counter attack tactict was good against vietnam in the past, unfortunately we have only 4 mids and no subs there... I'm thinking about Anees - Satwant - Nikhil - Naini in the midfield with Sukusma forward. An other chance is Dasdidar forward (Shilpa 2nd half) with Sukusma and Nikhil behind them plus Anees (Satwant 2nd half) and Naini in the middle. The last one is a good solution for having changes during the match but our best attacker Sukusma would play far from the goal. According to your study on viet stats what do you think it is better?

As you can see, they have an overall really strong team. However, even though their attack is goodm their wingplay doesn't always give them the desired results. For example, against us they failed to score a goal and even against HK with the same wingplay with 1 fwd, they could score just 1 goal. Since their defence is really strong, I think we should be aiming for a draw here, no point in going for the win as we are also without Sundaramoorthy. Yes, Suksma played well in the previous game but realistically speaking, I don't think he'll be much effective this time. Personally, I think we should go with your 2nd proposed option with just 1 forward which is also similar to how we played against them previously. No point in playing 2 forwards since they are most likely to be overwhelmed by their defence. If I am not wrong, Zev will be returning in the next game so our defence gets even stronger. In this game, a draw will be like a win for us.
I hope to resume at least Sundaramoorthy but I doubt a lot about it.
I don't think we should do that because if he gets injured again, it will aggravate into a more longer injury. It's ok if he rests in the group stage as then atleast he'll get a chance in the knockout stage.
Note:No GK data available.

Also, Vietnam has just conceded 1 goal this season (against Israel) and scored 10. They have mainly played against weaker teams though (ranking similar to ours). Of the 5 games, they have won 4 and lost 1 (Israel).
yes, I am for 2nd choice too with Sukusma behind the striker.
1st choice is with Sukusma only striker (not two) but I think he can help the team better in other position this time.
My counter attack tactict is 5 4 1 based and we are prepared to suffer!

Indeed. It was a great effort especially since Suksma got a red with 25 min to go.
Also since our average Def rating was only good.

Yeah! Defence was great today. We were under pressure but we managed it well and Chanda was very good in a couple of situations ... no way for Vietnam ;)
We lost our best player Sukusma for red card at 65 minutes but the team worked fine. Unfortunately we will miss him against HK.... not very lucky Asian cup... but at least Sunda will be back and we will play our cards!

I think we have a good chance to even top the group if we win. If we lose, we'll finish 3rd and if we draw, we finish 2nd.
Yeah, even with 10 players we got this draw which is really commendable.
