Subject: [U21 NT] TES

Berteloot is a fast and dangeruous player, we must not understemate him.
Evalayally Will Play as right defender for this reason and I Will find a new solution in midfield.

Good idea. Just place defenders in positions against strong forwards to negate them. Similarly, place our forwards in positions against their weak defenders.

We need to also start planning for next season since 5 of our core age 21 players won't be available. They are Bhatti, Elayavalli, Nachik, Sivasubramanium, Vasumati, all big names and regular 11 players. Among them, we have 3 defenders(Bhatti, Elayavalli, Sivasubramaniam) and 2 mids(Vasumati, Nachik).

Fortunately our main forwards (Sundaramoorthy, Zev) have 2 more seasons for them and I'm sure Suksma will be added to that list of forwards. I also noticed Hoodibaba playing Gambhir as a forward so even he could be a decent back-up forward. New players will keep getting pulled along the way but we need to start thinking who will replace those 2 mids and 3 defs. 1 straightforward replacement for mids is Anees(good overall skills), the other could be Tilak(is good in pace but okayish in other skills). But who else apart from them? Which means we badly need good mids now. For the 3 defenders, we have the option of Koppale(don't know about him), Subbarayan(has low stam), Munusamy(needs pace but is formidable in def), Dasdidar(has low stam), etc. So we also need good defenders.

Will be interesting to hear your thoughts on this and I'm assuming you will continue as our NT coach. In the junior school thread, I'll post the players that are expected to come out of my junior school in the next season.

Was about to suggest to request mods to put a few players from MINDHUNTERS club on TL but then saw that you've already requested for them on that thread. Good awareness:)

I was thinking about next season in last feew weeks and I will be happy to be India u21 manager.
You're right, we loose important players and there are no same level replacement but good news is that there are some interesting players growing.
For exemple next season there will be at least 3 strikers to chose from and Zev would be used as a defender.
Midfield is a strategic role from where the play begins. We can count on Nikhil and Naini first and add a new youth player... we will try some prospects here.
We have new defenders but they need pace or I will be forced to change tactict. Probably I will low down the difensive line.

After the match against Senegal I will make some changes and try new solutions without 21 y.o. players.

I hope some good players form Mindhunter could be TL and then trained in the right way.

I think it is very important for us at least 1 week of stamina training at the end of this season. I hope it could be possibile in order to better our chances to use new players.

2 players on TL. Both players are right up master trainer Hoodibaba's alley (if he has free slots)

He needs a pace trainer.

Harvinder Lavanya, age: 18

club: MINDHUNTER, country: India
value: 20 437 500 Rs.
wage: 90 000 Rs.
average form
weak tactical discipline
height: 167 cm, weight: 61.7 kg, BMI: 22.12

weak stamina outstanding keeper
adequate pace unsatisfactory defender
hopeless technique tragic playmaker
unsatisfactory passing tragic striker

Potential striker but needs pace. Really shameful that he hasn't played since April.

Tomba Shilpa, age: 18

club: MINDHUNTER, country: India
value: 4 000 000 Rs.
wage: 56 250 Rs.
very good form
tragic tactical discipline
height: 183 cm, weight: 94.8 kg, BMI: 28.31

unsatisfactory stamina hopeless keeper
average pace poor defender
good technique average playmaker
unsatisfactory passing very good striker

But why aren't Chohan, Koppale, Salil, Keshab and Vyapari on TL?

Have asked about other players on that thread. Let's see if we get a reply.

I was thinking about next season in last feew weeks and I will be happy to be India u21 manager.

Great!

For exemple next season there will be at least 3 strikers to chose from and Zev would be used as a defender.

Change that to 4 since Shilpa can be groomed to be another striker. He won't be fully playable next season but definitely in 1 or 2 seasons.

Midfield is a strategic role from where starts the play begins. We can count on Nikhil and Naini first and add a new youth player... we will try some prospects here.

Yeah, we need to look into midfield since mids create most of the opportunities for forwards. For that, we need mids who are very strong in playmaking.

We have new defenders but they need pace or I will be forced to change tactict. Probably I will low down the difensive line.

I personally keep my defenders far down the line and it really works most of the times especially when you deal with opposition forwards with fast pace. My Defback tactic is based on that (in the recent game I used another tactic which had defenders up the line and that's not my main one). This tactic works with strong counter-attacks where we give up possession to the opposition and most of the play is in our half.

I hope some good players form Mindhunter could be TL and then trained in the right way.

2 players are on TL currently and both have potential.

I think it is very important for us at least 1 week of stamina training at the end of this season. I hope it could be possibile in order to better our chances to use new players.
I'll be training stamina at the end of this season. Dasdidar badly needs that training.
2020-08-20 21:12:08
I won't be training pace much longer. Will change to def sometime next season.
Tomba will be 19 in a couple of weeks. His skills are too low for a 19 yr old.
Harvinder is tempting. If I buy him will anyway sell again in a few weeks.
2020-08-21 07:45:00
I'll see if I can go for Tomba just for the sake of adding another Indian player in my playing 11. I switch pace and def so it's not like he won't receive pace training.
2020-08-21 11:45:56
I'm training pace whole seasons (and tech 2-3 weeks). I can get few India players if they need pace training.
2020-08-21 12:04:52
No probs. I'll leave him for you then.
2020-08-21 21:13:19
Please train Tomba then.
2020-08-22 13:54:18
Sure thing. I'm setting alarm clock in my phone:)
2020-08-22 14:05:23
Few more players are transferlisted from Mindhunter. I've marked them but I can't train two keepers at the same time. I can place one of them anywhere in field on wednesdays in fact, but I think TES should try to find manager who training keepers. Pace may be trained later

@Wiki Thanks for the heads-up. Looks like we won't be having a dearth of goalies in the coming seasons. Plenty of reserves to play around with. Here are 2 of MINDHUNTERS on TL:

Kashi Chohan, age: 19

club: MINDHUNTER, country: India
value: 14 825 000 Rs.
wage: 187 500 Rs.
good form
weak tactical discipline
height: 176 cm, weight: 62.6 kg, BMI: 20.21

average stamina formidable keeper
adequate pace hopeless defender
unsatisfactory technique hopeless playmaker
good passing hopeless striker

Jaswinder Salil , age 20
value: 23 100 000 Rs.
wage: 293 750 Rs.
Current bid: 62 500 Rs.

end of bidding: 2020-08-24 10:37
tragic stamina outstanding keeper
excellent pace hopeless defender
unsatisfactory technique unsatisfactory playmaker
poor passing unsatisfactory striker

We have Chandramouli, Lavanya, Chohan and Salil fighting out for the keeper's spot and while Chandramouli will most likely continue to be a regular, we still have 3 other quality goalies raising their hand up for the coveted spot.

This is Koppale on TL as well. @TES He deserves an axe now that we know his skills.

Ankan Koppale , age 20
value: 4 300 000 Rs.
wage: 51 250 Rs.
Current bid: 62 500 Rs.

end of bidding: 2020-08-24 10:36
hopeless stamina hopeless keeper
weak pace solid defender
average technique good playmaker
hopeless passing adequate striker

There are other players on TL as well but are north worth a mention.

So we finish the campaign on 5th place with just a win (lower-ranked Senegal who finished last) and a draw(higher-ranked Sakartvelo who finished 4th) to give an account of ourselves. We were just 1 point above Senegal and were lucky to even get 5th since against Senegal if we go by the home-away record, we lost 1-2 since in the 1st game we beat them 1-0 and in this recent game we lost 0-2. I won't hold my words back but the last 2 games especially were shambolic in terms of performance. We were all looking for a win against Senegal but instead were handed a 0-2 defeat.

Coming into this tournament, my personal expectation was to get to atleast 7 points (5th place) as I was expecting 2 wins against Senegal and maybe a draw here and there against one of the big sides. We fell 3 short of those 7 points that I had envisaged. The reason for my low expectations was because in at the start of the season especially, we were plagued by the deficiency of strikers and although we still managed the 5th spot, it wasn't a very convincing 5th spot. This recent loss especially hurt us big since we dropped from the 72nd place to 76th place in the space of a game. I think we were 71st when @TES took charge and now we have dropped by 5 places which is a big drop! I know this is the first season for @TES as NT manager and that's why I'll still consider n giving him another chance in the next season for my vote.

Looking back, I think we should have engaged with strong opponents with something like a 5-3-2 tactic or maybe even a 5-4-1. There's no point in trying to be offensive and going with just 4 defenders and I hope that in the next season @TES will try to start going with 5 defenders.

We'll have to start having strong defenders and mids. I think strikers will be taken care of but we need to invest in defenders and mids. Myself and @Hoodibaba are pace and def trainers, @Wiki is pace trainer and new manager @stevenscpr is a striker trainer(realistically, he'll take a few months to get a good coaching staff). There are other Indian managers as well like @Lala Bhai and @carvalho but unfortunately they aren't as active. As seen, there's no mid trainer here and when we pull a mid like player, we'll have to hope that the player goes to a good mid trainer. I can try to have some sort of a collaboration with Aussie managers where we train some of their players and they train ours and I think @achmid even once peddled the idea of having some sort of a 'help each other' thing so that both countries can grow simultaneously.

My advice for the next season would be:
1) Start using 5 defenders against strong opponents. We can't afford to drop further against them by losing big.
2) Play against opponents with strength similar to ours, slight lower or slightly better. We need to have good practice against playing against such teams since those are the games that we expect to win in the group stage.

@TES, if you need help from me, feel free to ping me or just pass a message on the forum on whichever thread is relevant and I'll be happy to lend a helping hand.

We don't know anything aobout player's talent from Mindhunter. We must try them first in our clubs if it is possible. I can take all of them to check talent. 2 full jumps are reqiured to be sure. Some of the may be worthless in long term....
