INDIA 1 - SWEDEN 4
I'm not happy about the result because we have lost this game only in the end.
First half India was ahead 1 - 0 thanks to a penalty well done by Sundaramoorthy after a very good work by Sukusma.
We played defencevly and we were able to face strongest Sweden attakers, our goal was safe in spite of the injury of Chandramouli.
In the second half the low level of STAMINA and bad changes made our castle ruined.
Munusamy was a complete disaster and this was probably his last match in NT.
Tilak took red card after few minutes and we were not able to play as in the first half.
I'm not happy about Rahulan performance too and I will consider other player in that role.
This match helped me to fine tune the tactic, next time defenders will be more close and help a bit in the midfield.

Our rank is lower than before but still in place 73. I fell confident to climb positions next season.

I too felt that we played really well in the 1st half and I was actually expecting a draw because I knew that their attackers were getting closer and closer (I think they hit the post twice in the 1st half) and a goal was just around the corner. But we collapsed in the 2nd half. The game was rough though lol with a total of 4 cards and 2 injuries throughout and I think it could even have been 1-1 if Chandramouli wasn't injured, and I'm not saying that Salil was bad, yes he let in 4 goals but he was okay. Anyway, fortunately it wasn't some important game and both Chandramouli and Suksma don't have long severe injuries. Suksma will be fit for the next game while Chandramouli will miss just 1 game but he'll be able to play the domestic games next week so he'll get training. Their forward Johnson was world class with his long shots.

So now let's come to the players. What I've noticed after this game is that our defenders lack in pace but it can also be just because their forwards were strong and maybe against a team of our similar level, they will hold on good. But regardless, last season we had a problem with forwards and this season it's with defenders. We need some strong fast defenders like Zev/Lanka and I know we can't have all 5 defenders with world class level but that's just an observation. Fortunately, both me and @Hoodibaba are training defenders while @Wiki is helping us with pace. And we can expect good defenders coming out from my club, @Hoodibaba's and maybe even @stevenscpr club this season. Actually, even Subbarayan and Munusamy are ok, yes they have issues with stamina and pace respectively but we don't have many options at hand. We can give Muthukumar the odd games in between as well even though he's 21 as he looks decent. The only players that I have reservations about who regularly get games are Rahulan and Rochan but even Rochan was decent in the game against Letzeburg. Rahulan on the other hand has failed to impress even in 1 game but I get why you play him (lack of options).

Our mids and forwards are pretty sorted. Suksma was amazing today, he could've even got 1 goal but their keeper stopped it. If I'm not wrong, doesn't Naini has the best skills among our mids? If yes, you could try giving him a more prominent role, like swapping him with Nikhil because our players always tend to pass the ball to Nikhil in the right instead of Naini in the left lol. Anees has played well right from the 1st game he played.

On a sidenote, are we participating in the U21 Asian Cup?

I agrre on everythig.
We have poor options in Def and Mid and we need to wait for new Players form your youth teams. In the meanwhile I Will do my best to take the best solution (sometimes risking a bit).
That Naini idea sound good, se Will see against Canada.

I would like to take part in the U21 Asia Cup but I don't know how....
Just waiting for reply form other managers and I arranged these matches

Really like the opponent selection. A nice mix of stronger and weaker teams. There will be a lot to learn from every game since the gap between us and the opponents won't be too huge and there will be something in it in every game.

I'm going to be busy for the next 2 weeks so you won't find me as active as I was previously. However, I'll still try to follow our NT games but I might not be able to comment on them.

Keep up with the good work :)

Great game. Loved the 'counter attack' tactic today!

INDIA 0 - CANADA 0

a good match against a higher-level opponent who did not give much concern. I loved the defensive line, now 4/5 are confirmed it is about figuring out who to play on the left wing: Tilak and Gambir will have a chance to fight for the jersey. Dasdidar's debut was also good, proving to be a good end-of-match solution. Midfield of good substance, unfortunately we do not have any changes to the height, but the central area has held up well with excellent percentages of possession. The attack was well figured, Sundaramoorthy grabbed the goal on a couple of occasions and came close well to the opposition area. Suksma is from another world, he's good as second-straiker and I can't wait to see him as a pure striker. Finally, a few words on the tactic adopted. The counter attack worked smoothly, well positioned in defence gave thrust and depth whenever possible, both for Rochan's incursions on the right wing (KautukuP you have to think about him, he is a regular starter) and through the middle with the interdiction and restart work of Nikhil, Naini and Anees. Against Misr (Cymru gave up) we will try a more aggressive style of play, I'm confident...

I think Suksma was still slightly injured for Friday's match. Did you check before playing him?
No he's out for 12 days. So about 2 weeks no training for him.

A very bad news :(

Indeed. Never play a player who'e slightly injured. It's too much of a risk.

Sukusma was ok before the match.
It is just bad luck.
