Wasted 66 000 $on trying to find a magical coach through skills select (tried twice). I guess it just happens sometimes. Had already planned to give in some tries with the gate money I'm receiving from the FedCup in the recent home games so no big regret as such but it certainly pinches you a bit.

To find magical or unearthly coach, fill all positions as magical, except keeper - mark it as excellent/formidable.

I found 3 suitable magical coaches and 1 unearthly this way, using 6 pools only. Of course, there is no guarantee, but you can't win if you don't try:)

Yes, I used the same method where I put in magical for all positions except keeper but I wasn't getting the coach of my choice. I want a coach who is unearthly in pace, defence and magical/brilliant in tech, pass, pla and str. For stamina and keeper, I don't care as much but even excellent/formidable is ok. I actually got a magical coach in one of the try but his skill distribution wasn't right.

I'll try the skills recruitment again in a few weeks once I earn more money. To be honest, I'm looking for a minimum brilliant coach with appropriate skill distribution and not a magical coach per se.

So I got more money from my mids who I was just training for pace than my defenders who I was training for both pace and defending. My highest sold players so far have both been mids for whom I wasn't even paying special attention to except for making sure that they train pace. The money I have received from selling defenders hasn't been impressive which means I need to be more particular about who I buy.

Just as an example, here are the 2 mids:

Çavlan Papacostas, age: 21[+1], height: 180 cm
value: 8,112,500 Rs., wage: 68,750 Rs.
divine form excellent discipline
formidable teamwork solid experience

[9]very good stamina [1]hopeless keeper
[9 +1]very good pace [3 +1]poor defender
[6 +1]adequate technique [8]solid playmaker
[8]solid passing [4]weak striker

Weeks in club: 17
Bought for: 1 260 $
Sold for: 26 250 $
Total pops(excluding stamina): 3

Márton Bereczki, age: 20[+2], height: 175 cm
value: 9,750,000 Rs.(+912,500 Rs.), wage: 88,750 Rs.
divine form (+3) formidable discipline
incredible teamwork very good experience (+1)

[6 +1]adequate stamina [0]tragic keeper
[10 +3]excellent pace [3 +2]poor defender (+1)
[9 +1]very good technique [6 +1]adequate playmaker
[10 +1]excellent passing [4 +1]weak striker (+1)

Weeks in club:29
Bought for: 264 $
Sold for: 77 750 $
Total pops(excluding stamina): 9

Now my defenders who I trained in both pace and defence:

Jean Mândreanu, age: 20[+1], height: 192 cm
value: 5,100,000 Rs., wage: 58,750 Rs.
hopeless form solid discipline
outstanding teamwork average experience
Cards:

[6 +2]adequate stamina [1]hopeless keeper
[10 +2]excellent pace [10 +2]excellent defender
[4 +1]weak technique [7]good playmaker
[2]unsatisfactory passing [3 +1]poor striker

Weeks in club: 22
Bought for: 1 260 $
Sold for: 5 250 $
Total pops(excluding stamina): 6

Theo Malaquias, age: 20[+1], height: 176 cm
value: 6,025,000 Rs.(+87,500 Rs.), wage: 76,250 Rs.
average form solid discipline
incredible teamwork poor experience

[3 +2]poor stamina [0]tragic keeper
[10 +2]excellent pace [10 +3]excellent defender (+1)
[3 +1]poor technique [2 +1]unsatisfactory playmaker
[6]adequate passing [8 +1]solid striker

Weeks in club: 21
Bought for: 1 260 $
Sold for: 7 250 $
Total pops(excluding stamina): 8

Maybe, I need to start pushing up the initial offer.

Don't bother putting a minimum price when u sell. If the player is good he will normally get a good price.
There are plenty of defenders out there + these guys skills aren't all that great, especially Theo. That's why your defs didn't sell well

What I'm surprised with is the amount of money that they were sold for and that they were just 1/10th of the amount that I received from mids even without paying attention to them.

I come to understand 3 things from this:
1) I need to be more choosy about who I buy. Maybe I need to spill more of my money to get better returns. Of course, those were earlier days, so I anyway couldn't have afforded costlier players.
2) Even if you are training defenders, it doesn't hurt to have young mids/strikers and give them pace training. You never know, they might fetch you more than your defenders with those random pops.
3) Form is a crucial element to decide how much your player goes for since it inflates the value of the player. Bereczki reached divine form just at the right time (he was brilliant just a week back) which might have got me an extra 20%-30%.

I knew about the impact of form but not all things fall in place at the right time. Sometimes, it's better to sell a player when he has just popped in some skill instead of selling him when he is just about to pop.

The other thing is, both of my defenders performed well in training I feel, and I was expecting atleast say, 10x extra but I didn't even receive that. So I think sometimes you've to set a certain minimum amount and hope that there's some person who feels that the player is good and fits his training schedule.

After repeated attempts and playing him for 6 weeks, I've finally been able to sell off Padmakant. I might've put him on TL atleast 4 times before he has finally sold now.

Why not just sack him?
2020-10-24 21:24:30
Had a an empty slot in the team, so decided to play him. I know that I could've also just bought a better new player and started training him but I'm going to try my best to train Indian players even if they might be mediocre. You never know, in the long run, they might have really good skills.

For example, Chiba from your club is doing quite well in my team and could play a role in the NT in the future.

My finances may take a hit slightly since I won't be training players for a lot of profit but that's fine for me. At least for now. It also helps me experiment about a few things like how a player with low skills responds to training, how fast does he pop, etc.

There's also Ranjana who has really poor skills but I've still kept him. 3 juniors will be coming out next week and even if one of them is trainable/better than him, I might have to sack him because of no slot available.

By the way, I see that you've put Makarand for sale. I'll see if I can buy him but first will have to ask TES about what would he like to have trained him in because I'm a defender trainer and he has good skills for striker too.

I also want to sell Suksma & Anees.
Makarand should be trained as a Def, I changed my mind and will be training him. Atleast till I get a better jr.

Looks like Hoodibaba's going to receive a lot of money today ;P

I looked at what you wrote about Suksma where you mentioned that in 9 weeks of training (8 pace, 1 stamina), he popped thrice in pace, twice in stamina and a random up in the other skills. That's really impressive but I'm wondering whether it's because of his really good talent or just that you have really good coaching staff. How would you rate Suksma in terms of his talent as compared to other players you have trained previously? Because there's no player in my team yet who is that good.

He's 1 of the best. I've had a few like him though.

Hate it when I forget to give a player his weekly training.
