I’ve come up with a new tactic, trying to see what Satwant can play forward, as winger. Najeeb gets a little backwards and will help in the middle of the attacks. As a striker, Shilpa alone plays. Manohari will replace him. Unfortunately, I don’t see Manohari as good at playing with 2 strikers and Manohari on the pitch all the way (the reason this is that his playmaking skill is unsatisfactoy and therefore makes a very slow decision, is easily defeated by the defenders).
Mehul's place on the team was in question, he is unfortunately in low strength and not fast enough (yet ...) to be a defender (it would not be good to be a slow player in the back). In today’s game, Mehul gets a little back in the 6th position, swapping places with Subbarayan, who will be midfielder today (I know that’s not a perfect solution, but Sreekanthan’s form is unfortunately 0).
It would be good to build a lot of attacks today, get a lot of chances, score goals.

Unfortunately, today the defense let down the team. Bolivia’s strong offensive tactics, the 3 strikers plus 1 winger brought them success. I haven’t seen a team playing such a highly offensive tactic at U21 level from a mid-strength team. Even their 2 midfielders went ahead with the attacks, this could have even decided in our favor if our defense and goalkeeper hadn’t performed so poorly in the first half.
This season allows for experimentation, and most of our team is 20 years old or younger, who could be featured next season. We tried this tactic, it looked like the downside, the mistakes came up. Our players are slow in midfield, but there is still time to improve until the start of next season.
One more thing:
42.7 average mark 51.3
Bolivia is stronger than what their ranking in the world ranks shows.

Yes, our defense let us down but their attackers were really good, even players like Munusamy were having trouble tackling them which could mean that their tech was really high along with the striking ability. And it's a good thing that you didn't play Manohari from the start otherwise we wouldn't have even scored that 1 goal, he was that poor in today's match. In the fed cup against my team, he played really well but apparently he brings out his best only in club games.
If we leave out our fumbling defense, I think our mids weren't too bad but that could also be because they found plenty of open spaces because of Bolivia's offense. We missed 2 easy chances, 1 by Shilpa and 1 by Satwant which could've turned this game more interesting.

A few stat highlights from the game against Kazakhstan:
1) Sameer Bimalbirua makes his debut
2) Najeeb scores his 1st NT goal
3) Satwant gets his 1st two NT assists
1) Sameer Bimalbirua makes his debut

Najeeb’s first goal is also especially memorable because next season he will be the most important striker in U21.
Yes, I can see that we need an additional striker. With the amount of options that we have for mids, we can also place Rantidev alongside him once Rantidev builds up decent amount of pace. And that's considering that we don't have a good additional striker by then.

We need to win this match but Misr a little bit stronger then its position on world ranking.
Our super mid Rantidev making an impact immediately after he comes onto the field by calculating an Egyptian fumble straight into the goal lol. That was the only way we could've won this game with the atrocious shooting by our fwds Shilpa and Najeeb.
Yes we won this match with an own goal. But in the first half Shilpa missed a penalty so we had some chances to score goal.
Due to the low number of players available, there are only 4 players in U21 who are 21 years old. The others are 18-20 years old. I think that could be the reason why U21’s performance this season is less good than the previous one. The bottom line is that despite the slightly weaker performance, we can keep the position among the top 64 finishers in the leaderboard, which is very important for next season’s WCQ draw. And the other thing that I think is very important is that the vast majority of players in U21 get excellent training at their club. I expect the current 18-20 year olds to improve a lot by next season and have a significantly stronger U21 team in WCQ matches compared to this season.

We had many chances, more than the opposition but we failed to capitalize.

Yes, we just need to pull a good attacker and GK now. It will be good for us if we get an attacker from Lagends this season in the form of Biju Suresh or Sunder Gawli who have the potential to be good juniors.
In the past few games, we are still managing to win games even if we are struggling to score goals against weaker teams and against stronger teams, we are giving them a good fight by atleast drawing the game. So if we continue these performances, we'll retain our top 64 ranking.

I've managed to scrape all India U21 match result data since 2009 (India U21's 1st game) along with the report data in terms of avg mark, possession, play in half, etc using Python BeautifulSoup (a popular Python package for web scraping).
Just a few high-level insights that I managed to gather:
1) India U21 Total Games: 617, W: 212, L: 304, D: 101
2) We have qualified just once for the World Cup in April 2010 but we lost all 3 games in the group stage. (0-2 France, 1-5 Sweden, 0-7 Brazil)
3) Our biggest win is 14-0 against Algeria on 16 Sep 2009 (48 shots, 14% Play in Half, India Avg Mark 52.1, Algeria Avg Mark 28.4)
4) Our biggest loss is 0-14 against Poland on 15 Nov 2019.
Now, considering our performance from 3rd Jan 2020 onwards:
1) From 3rd Jan to 5th Jun, our avg of avg mark is 38.73 (W:7, D: 2, L:12)
2) From 12th Jun to 1st Jan 2021, avg of avg mark is 41.99 (W: 10, D: 8, L: 12)
3) From 8th Jan 2021 to 11th Jun 2021, avg of avg mark is 42.56 (W: 8, D: 4, L: 11)
Looking at our next opponent Israel U21, India has played Israel a total of 7 times
1) We have won just once (6th Jun 2012) and lost 6 times
2) In 4 of the 7 games, our avg mark was less than theirs and in all those 4, the difference in avg mark was more than 5. We lost all those 4.
3) In 3 games, our avg mark was greater than theirs and we have won one but lost two. In all the 3 games, the difference in avg mark was in the range of 3.
4) From Jan 2020 onwards, we have faced Israel just once and lost that game (10th Jul 2020). Surprisingly, our avg mark was 40.1 while theirs was 37.9 but despite that, they managed 14 shots while we just managed 1 shot. We lost that game 0-1.
5) The results in the 7 games:
1-4 (Friendly, 20-3-2009)
1-5 (WC Qualifiers, 10-09-2010)
1-2 (WC Qualifiers, 24-09-2010)

If anyone wants to look at a few more cuts in data, please let me know.
Thank you for the great stats. It was surprising to me to see that U21 has only been in India since 2009. What was even more surprising was that shortly after its formation, the team managed to get to the World Cup.
"win is 14-0 against Algeria on 16 Sep 2009" - the most surprising thing to me is what an extra average rating it was (52.1). This value is currently only a dream. But I believe that with persistent training, we can get back to the level that was around 2009-2010. I assume that at that time there were not only 3 (4?) Active users in India, but many more. Do I think so? An increase in the number of users would be a very important condition for improving quality.
KautukP, I would like to know if there has been any progress in the results since I was the coach of U21? Because I thought we had very good results in WCQ last season.

@Hoodibaba can give a better answer to this question as he has been holding our team together since a long time.
An increase in the number of users would be a very important condition for improving quality.
If you go the India page, you'll see that there are 20 users. It means people are joining this game but they aren't staying back after their 1st or 2nd login. I think it's because their accounts are locked initially and people don't have that level of patience nowadays to check back since they tend to have plenty of other options. Once the devs change this feature and also start advertising more, we'll see more and more people joining and staying back.

Just looking at our past coaches:

3) panchoahead (04-07-2011) - (23-09-2012) (1 yr 2 months)
4) avi (24-09-2012 )- (06-04-2014) (1 yr 7 months)
