I see us playing better against opponents of roughly the same strength as us until we have a goalkeeper to save something, unfortunately only painful defeats like today come.

This season goes to the trash because we miss our matches at the GK post. Tarit is evolving, but only next season can he be expected to stop a few shots and not get a goal from every shot going to the goal.

What is already visible is the danger that there will be very few defender in our U21 team next season: Yashodhan, Pavan, Kabra. We only have 3 defenders left whose defending skill reaches level 10 (excellent). I will have to play Subbarayan as a defender, but we will still only have 4 players for these positions.

I will do my best to have our strikers in U21 in the future as well: Engineer will be at Satwant level next season. I tried to buy Mounil this week, but unfortunately the bidding was over at the wrong time, and unfortunately the striker went to a completely novice user, so he won’t develop properly.

So we don’t have good prospects for next season. I am confident that someone will help U21 to have more than 3-4 defenders on the team next season.

The good thing is our avg mark is increasing even without a good GK which means our team is improving. Even if you look at this game, their play in half was more and even our shots were more. Once we get a good GK, most of our problems will be solved. Another user 'Aabykutan' has opened a junior school so more GK's will come out gradually.

Sawant is close to excellent in defending and is decent in pace. If you want, I can sell him in the next season. Apart from him, Hiranya too is developing fast.

Myself and Hoodibaba are on it. Stevens is handling GK and Aabykutan can start helping us next season onwards if he wants.

Shibu Nayak will be excellent x 2 by early next season.
Ratan harku should also be excellent in defending some time next season.
Plus with some more exciting juniors waiting to come out of the jr schools we might get lucky.
I'm not really worried about our defence.

Nice to have Aabykutan join us. Hope he sticks around for a long time.

If I want to see a positive in today’s match, it can be said that only 5 Turkish shots hit our goal. And if I write the realistic evaluation: all 5 shots scored.

The season doesn't seem to end...

I would be happy if the season was over. Bad results are coming, getting U21 lower in the world rankings. This season is unfortunately lost due to the goalkeeper problem.

However, we are getting better in long term. Another helper has arrived, in the person of Davebacsi, who is training pace and defense for some Indian U21 players.

Our next seasons will definitely be better than the current one.

At least we scored 1 out of 2 shots. About 4 times better than Eesti.
All we needed was 10 more shots on goal :P

We won today’s match and can finally praise our goalkeeper a bit, Tarit delivered his best performance today. It is true that only 1 shot hit his goal, but he defended it nicely.

Unfortunately, many goals remained in our attacks. Rantidev with excellent striker skill in a clear position from 8-10 meters did not hit the goal, what can we do? We can only hope that U21 will be more successful next season because we have a much stronger team than the results of this season.

Nice win, thanks to a sublime pass from Varati, Najeeb was excellent in getting past the defender in a difficult position and putting it in the back of the net.

That was an excellent win against a strong Saudi Arabian side who this season have beaten us, Costa Rica and drew with Ireland. We should've scored 1-2 extra but their keeper stood like a wall very much like our keeper Tarit who is steadily putting good performances. Unfortunately, we'll still finish at the bottom of the group considering there are very less chances of us even drawing the next game. Some really good players will be leaving the U21 this season(Satwant, Najeeb, Varati, Sreekanthan, Mehul, Biswas), I'm not sure whether it was their last game considering there's just 1 game to go now but we'll certainly miss them next season. Leaving aside the keeper, this has been our best U21 team till now and we could've done much better if we would've had a better keeper, someone like Chandramouli might've even ensured us qualifying for the World cup, who knows. But this is just a good example of how important a strong keeper is for a team. Anyway, our team is steadily improving every season and I'm sure we would break into the 50s in the near future.

In the last WCQ match, I was happy with the team’s performance. We played a tight match against the USA, who will be there for the next World Cup.

Next week, the 21-year-olds may not be playing anymore, although they still have a chance at one last match. I wonder what the team will be able to do without the players now aging.
