Subject: [U21] Attila
I tried a new tactic that I will use against the strongest teams. The defense was pretty good, but unfortunately we didn't have a chance to attack the much stronger Romanian defenders and midfielders.
...And Varati made his debut in the second half :)

So I came across this topic in SK International and have told him to reach out to @Attila for further collaboration. It's titled 'Training Support [U21]'

Good topic I will inform Beduin if an U21 member player needs to train. Thank you!
So I've looked at our past few games and a thought of sharing a few of my thoughts. This season, we've played out 2 good games, 2 bad games and 1 okayish game. The 2 good matches were at the start of the season against Latvia and Philippines, followed by 2 bad matches against Romania and Algeria (loss against a team ranked 92nd) and then the recent okayish match against Uzbekistan. The dip in our performances is understandable, we lost much of the crux of our team(Sunda, Anees, Nikhil, Zev, Rochan) last season in all the 4 main spheres which in turn resulted in a drastic reduction in our average mark from ~45 to ~40. It's a good thing that we aren't playing any qualifying games this season so we can focus more on consolidation of our high rank which took us so much effort to reach the prior season and the season before that, while at the same time giving opportunities to the numerous influx of talent coming out from my club and Hoodibaba's (hopefully Stevens and Aguardilho's as well in future). The balancing of these 2 things won't be easy and the best way is to identify a list of maybe 18 juniors and rotate between them which will give them extra training while also earning the goodwill of the managers who are training them who'll be pleased to notice their players unexpectedly getting NT games.
The target/goal for our U21 team this season would be to somehow hold on to our top 65 rank which will enable us to get a better draw for the qualifying tournament next season and thus improving our chances of doing better in that tournament, of course we still haven't reached a position where we can dream of qualify for the World Cup.
Coming to the game analysis, I'll admit that I'm a bit surprised with the positioning of a few of our players and the persistence in the playing 11 of 1-2 despite their noticeable poor performance. I think the likes of Varati, Sreekanthan, should be given more playing time as compared to say Mehul in the midfield. Mehul deserves more of a defensive position while Yashodhan, Varati, Sreekanthan, Surnilla (good to see him getting NT games, never thought he would be a regular), Subbarayan should be rotated in the midfield. Satwant and now Rantidev should be regulars and of course with Rantidev's entry, we can regularly play Najeeb as a forward with Manohari as a sub when required. My observations are based on skills of the players when they were sold/when they were posted in the forum, so please take them with a pinch of salt, you know best :)

First of all, I would like to express my pleasure that you are actively participating in the game again. Thank you for the long analysis on the performance of U21. In short, my opinion about this season is that the number of our attacks and chances in previous matches was very low. This needs to be improved, and in the last match against Uzbekistan it has already succeeded. In addition to the 2 goals, we also had a position to hit 5 cross bars, any of which could have been another goal. Of course, I know that Uzbekistan is one of the weakest teams right now, not just in terms of rankings.
Regarding the results achieved this season, I would like to note that the defeat against Algeria was painful, but despite being among the last on the leaderboard, Algeria has a stronger team this season than India. The post-match reassessment also shows this (44.3-42). But this defeat was bad because of the world ranking list. The goal is really to stay between the 64, due to the draw for the next WCQ.
It’s really unfortunate that due to aging, for example, Sunda can no longer play in U21. I should have a similarly strong striker next to Suksma ... but he doesn't have one yet (unfortunately Manohari I don't think he'll be at that level this half season while he can still play).
But let’s look at the events of the inheritance: In the person of Varati and Rantidev, 2 players have arrived at U21 who will be great strengths for the team as early as next season in WCQ matches. And there is still hope for some strong players from the youth team.
Here I would like to write you a comment KautukP: if you can still be here so well in the game, please try to train players for U21. It would be a great help and it is needed because we are training more and more players, defenders Hoodibaba, the midfielders Bonanza (already training 9 Indians - thanks to him !!!) and I 2 strikers. Goalkeepers (when they come up from the youth team) will be trained for U21 Stevenscpr, who switched to goalkeeper training on my advice.
But I still need help, the free training places are already full with us (I can only train 2 strikers because I want to get to second division now).
If I can solve it, I will upload a photo of U21 and send a link.
One more thing:
Mehul’s presence in the MID position is because the stamina is too low and he needs to be replaced in every match. Now with the arrival of Varati, I found him an ideal mate who can change Mehul in the second half. The number of defenders is there even without Mehul, unfortunately Mehul is also a bit slow as a defender and does not train (Mehul's owner wanted to sell him this week, but was deleted from TL shortly after). So Mehul stays in midfield until he becomes a better player for that position (for example, when Sreekanthan reaches high form).

Yes, a special shout out to Bonanza who's doing a phenomenal job of training our mids!
From my end, I'll try my best to train our players. My youth school will be quiet this season apart from a special solid 16y coming out 2 weeks from now. But from next season onwards, we'll see better juniors. Maybe Hoodibaba will have some nice juniors to offer to make up for it.

Sorry, didn't understand this.

Also wanted to ask how are Douglas Engineer and Manjit Pavan shaping up? Pavan could be a good defender based on the skills when I had last sold him so we can consider giving him a few minutes in NT games to benefit the manager. Last time we had a conversation on Engineer, he wasn't getting games but now it looks like he is regularly getting games.

Nice to see your long posts again Kautuk.
Yes I didn't realise Algeria were much lower ranked.
I have some nice jrs coming over the next 5 weeks. Also have 2 16 yr olds that are currently adequate and average. I hope they can pop to atleast good before they get pulled. 1 will come through this thursday.

That would really be great, will help me and others interested in getting a better perspective on how our current players stand with respect to each other.

Haha, thanks for temporarily managing my club.

The problem with Engineer was not that he didn’t play a match (this is a problem for Makarand). The big problem with Engineer is that the Turkish owner doesn’t give an answer, I don’t have information about the player’s skills for 3 months. On the other hand, I can see (based on value and salary) that Engineer has developed very little, does not get properly trained, it is likely that he is training another position in his club. Because of this, Engineer I think is unfortunately in a very bad place and will lose to U21.

Meyappan is 20 years old, so he will be the only one to play as a goalkeeper in U21 next season. Also, I really hope that those who come from Junior school in 13 and 14 weeks will have those 2 goalkeepers who will have good skills and then they will be able to come to U21 in next season as well.
Meyappan was bought 1 week ago by someone who promised to train as a goalkeeper. Unfortunately, Meyappan didn’t play a match last week, so now I’m a little disappointed that the player may have been in the wrong place where he won’t play. I was afraid he might be fired, so I gave him 10 minutes on U21 on Friday. So as long as he is a member of U21, he will not lose. Unfortunately, such difficulties also need to be addressed in U21, but overall I am very happy to be able to deal with the team.

Unfortunate this about Engineer, we had thought he would be useful for U21.

I’ve come up with a new tactic, trying to see what Satwant can play forward, as winger. Najeeb gets a little backwards and will help in the middle of the attacks. As a striker, Shilpa alone plays. Manohari will replace him. Unfortunately, I don’t see Manohari as good at playing with 2 strikers and Manohari on the pitch all the way (the reason this is that his playmaking skill is unsatisfactoy and therefore makes a very slow decision, is easily defeated by the defenders).
Mehul's place on the team was in question, he is unfortunately in low strength and not fast enough (yet ...) to be a defender (it would not be good to be a slow player in the back). In today’s game, Mehul gets a little back in the 6th position, swapping places with Subbarayan, who will be midfielder today (I know that’s not a perfect solution, but Sreekanthan’s form is unfortunately 0).
It would be good to build a lot of attacks today, get a lot of chances, score goals.
