I guess you all know that talent can never be lower than 3.

If talent in osokker or other talent calculation tool is lower than 3, it means he is extremelly close to talent 3 (and the number given is within the error margin of the calculation)

But one of my junior when he is in junior school he gives 5 + pop in 6 Week and till date 3 weeks he gives 2 pop. 2 weeks 1 pop and next week another one. How I calculate his talent ?
2011-07-18 20:38:10
Its imposible to calculate the exact talent, because the judgment of our youth trainers has an error margin (thats why some weeks their judgment of a player can decrease... but we know talent can only increase).

What we can do is to get as close as possible to that talent value. And the way to do so is calculating the average of the pendings of the rects tangent to each point of the graph (which is the graph of the evolution of the judgements on the player by the trainer). Thats called Average Rate of Change, and thats why it can give you a value below 3: because its an aproximate value. But talent can never be lower than 3.

ok. So that is why when we see the player have reached up level in his skills then he gives his pop slowly. We find when the skill is lower pop is given quickly but after some point it give slow pop. Am I write ? can you explain.

No, I was talking about calculating talent in the Youth School (when talent increases every week, faster or slower -that's talent!- but only increases).

Talent at the First team is a constant: it will never change, even if player is 90 years talent will remain the same, and its a factor that's involved in the skill pop ratio of every skill.

Pops at low skill levels are faster that at higher skill levels because skill progression is non linear. Lower skills are "easier" to train that higher skills.

That's very informative, thanx alot.
Although I prefer to say 2.67 weeks instead of 3 coz that's what the graph shows.

I agree with you Hoohibaba. But thanks to panchoahead also this information really helps to purchase players. I used 'sokker manager' a software to keep database and graph shows, my player is 1.67 week talented. If the player gives regular pop I have no problem about his talent. and another quarry about junior coach. If players talent is fixed then any coach level can be opted?
2011-07-20 11:18:53
yes that's a very good question.
well panchoahead? :)

No.

Listen: we call "talent" to the potential training speed a player has. This is a hidden attribute (so it is not shown like, f.e. Pace or height). ¿How can we know the talent of a player? Well, here is the problem.

In the Youth School: we have to make a graph with the evolution of the trainer judgements along at least 10 weeks, and then calculate de rate change average by calculating the average of the pending of the rects tangent to every point of the graph. That gives us a number (f.e. a talent between 3 and 9 ... but we know there are even worse talents than that!). That number represents the number of week between 2 pops. For example: if the player in the youth school today poped to adequate and he has talent 3, then in 3 weeks he should pop to good (asuming we have the ideal coach). In earlier stages of the game, talent could be easily calculated because the trainer judgment on the player was always correct. But that changed and now we know the judgement of the trainer has an error margin, and so the player can drop levels from one week to the other (something that was imposible in the past). On the other hand, now juniors age and position is shown... and in the past those details were hidden.

In the Senior team: when a player is taken to the Senior team, he still has the same talent he had in the junior school. So if he popped a lot in the junior school, he for sure will respond faster than others to senior team training.

The level of the trainer always influences. In the junior school, a magical coach will make that a very talent player will increase faster than with a formidable coach. And in the senior team, a coach with the training skill in divine level with make him train better than less talented players. As simple as that.

So, when you see a player in the Youth School, you should try to calculate his talent rather than considering the level they reach as useful data. Talent means everything.
