Real bad start of the qualification....

First half it was very obvious we have no quality players in defence. 2 goals as a result of loss of the ball/rebounds.

Second half was ours, but missing 3 times alone in front of the keeper and a penalty on the crossbar didn't help much.
Their penalty went in off the post !

Only positive thing is the amount of chances, which shows the tactics in attack worked.

Next week against New Zealand is all about keeping a low score, I may have to turn some midfield-players into defenders.

It wasn't a bad game.
Too many missed shots decide about the final result.
Next time will be better ;)

I really hope we have a good next game! Go India

Just thought I'd drop in here to applaud you on the fantastic work in the last game. The 5-3 scoreline doesn't do the Indian team anywhere nearly enough justice. Most of their shots came from excellent positions and Hong Kong were totally outplayed, despite the 3 goals and 13 shots (mostly from miles out) seeming to reflect that they had the better of the Indian defence.

One could also allude tyo the red card that HK recieved but India was totally dominant before that including some one on one saves and 1 or 2 shots that hit the woodwork.

Overall, excellent stuff De Generaal. Liked the formation to mine, I use a very similar one occasionally but Rangwala pushing forward made the difference. :)

Thanks, tactics really worked out the right way in this game.
The guys (Saru and Tungesh) that can make a difference against other smaller nations finally played as expected.

India 's problem area is still in defence, this time I placed the back 4 a bit too far back to prevent the long distance shots.
I'm working on a solution for that in the next game against Moldova.
In the new match engine it looks like strikers decide to have a shot at goal a lot quicker than before.

Unfortunately Kalyan Rachna picked up an injury on Sunday, so I have to re-arrange the frontline.

How many managers trainining defense in India?
2007-04-09 20:52:14
I know from two of them that they are starting to train defenders.
One has trained defending, but no side-skills as pace and technique...

Today the match Moldova - India was scheduled; our first win in a World Cup qualification campaign ever !
(this is only the second time India is taking part...)

Congrats ,nice win !!

Thanks, in the first half I thought Moldova deserved a bit more, but your goalie didn't have one of his best days ..

Second half, with bringing in Sowrirajan, India was a bit more dangerous.

congrats. the attack was brilliant. luckily rebounds kept coming to chiba to knock them in.
