I open this thread to announce that I'm candidating myself to be the new coach for israeli team.
After many seasons I feel now I'm ready to take the responsibility.
I think we could get far together! :)

If I'll be elected, I will need great assistance from israeli managers to look for good players and in developing trainig tactics for all of them... so, people interested in this role feel free to contact me.

I've opened this thread to answer all questions you think you'd like to ask.
Feel free to ask anything about tactics, players and team support.

I've looked for a thread like this in the forum, but haven't found it... so if this thread is kind of spam please delete it.

no problem, I didn't even read it before it was deleted :)

btw, is there a forum for NT candidates?

Not as such. We do MOST things out in the open here and you can expect some hard questions once you say a bit more about your intentions and plans.
I will not participate though, as I am competing against you and that would not be right.
Good luck though ;-)

well if it was my way you could freely partecipate, you're an israeli user like all others :)
what do you intend with "intentions and plans"? they are clearly like yours, to bring israeli team the higher I can.
to speak about training plans for NT players I should know their skills... and I don't, yet :D
good luck to you too :)

edit: anyway, I tell something about my personal tactical vision of the game.

1) I don't agree with people (many in the italian leagues) thinking that MIDs are not so important for the game. I'm a MID trainer and I think that midfield is the core of the game, and that good defending and good attacking routines always comes from well-positioned, rightly-skilled midfielders.

2) I usually like to adapt my fielded team and tactics to the opponent (without making dangerous revolutions though)

3) I think that the right tactic can beat a stronger team, if the difference is not enormous

4) I like to play offensive, even when I've played against stronger teams I maybe fielded 5 DEF but never renouncing to be dangerous, and often I got more shots on goal than them.

5) I'm strongly convinced that 4 eyes are better than 2, and 8 are better than 4. so in case I'm elected I'll work with a staff of good-willing israeli managers, hoping to get at least 1 vice-coach to discuss tactics before the match and 4 scouts for the 4 main roles. btw, if some of you wants to be part of the staff, just contact me and we'll decide together after elections.

how do you play the game which tactics do you like to play with
what is your approach in the tactics

and by plans he means where do you see israel NT gets to next season under your wand ?

I widely used no-lined 4-4-2 (with a wingback fielded as MID) this season, for training purposes
I think that lined 4-4-2 is the best tactic to cover all spaces at best, but it's no use to cover spaces well if you ain't got the right players for the right roles
I've often fielded a very technical winger, wide and high, and 2 forwards, one (central) stronger in striker and the other (a little wider) more skilled in tech and pace
Now I'm trying to prepare a mixed-tactic for my team, that could be called 4-3-3 with ball possession and 4-5-1 without ball possession. the lateral forwards (fielded ad MIDs) should be very skilled in tech, passing (at least 14), have good playmaking (at least 11) and more defending than striker skill (11 on 9 to respect proportions).
for something more, check my previous post.
if you got some time, check my cup semi-final game against "mettici il sugo" (4 times italian champion and the owner is the co-coach of italian NT) to see how I can adapt my tactic to the opponent.

about israeli NT, I've seen this is a young and evolving team
there are some good prospectives among players, I'd like to challenge myself bringing this team to the WC final rounds and getting some satisfactions against stronger teams :)

Now I'll try to give you all some personal informations about me, I bet you think they are important, I seem to hear you thinking "hey who is this italian who wants to be my NT coach? who knows him?". :D

my name is Matteo, I'm 33 and I'm an electrical engineer in real life.
I live in the south-east of Italy, extreme south-east: if you think of Italy as a boot I live right on the heel :D
I work for no company: I run my personal activity in my own office, and that's from where I'm typing now.
my "second job" is being vocalist-guitarist-keyboardist in a progressive-rock band named RetrAvantgarde.
I live with my father, 4 cats (Uccio, Nina, and 2 still unnamed kitties :D) and the recent buy: a black dog named Ouzo.
I spend all my spare time in composing and playing for the band, going sometimes to the gym and staying online on sokker!
I think I'm a friendly one, and fun to be with. I like having beer with friends, discussing on politics and music, and (of course) I like women... mmmh, well, maybe I like them too much :|
:D

Good luck mate
:-)

Some questions:
1) Why Israel?
2) This upcoming season its a friendly season , what are your plans for this season?
3) What are your plans off the field , how will you work , alone? do you have a stuff to work with?
4) One of the most importent thing in our eyes is the connection with our community , what are your plans for that , how do you plan to keep us involve? (if you planed so at all)

Thanks
:-)
