It's hard to make a good answer when you don't know player's skills..

I think you really did a nice start, but their keeper was a monster :P
Anyway, I don't like this kind of defense with 4 people.
Their height was too low, and they were very static, so in this way it's easy to receive passes between defenders (I don't know the correct name in english of this kind of pass :P)
I think against Belgium (one of the better NT here in Sokker, so a really nice team) I would have play with same strikers and a really nice winger as you did, but with a defense with 5 people, higher then that for trying to push them in their field.
Anyway my thought are based on an idea that i have of Israeli level :) Without knowing their skills it's very hard to say things about tactics, so please take my opinions not too seriously :)

I'll answer for Amido.
Amido loves to play as an Attacking Midfielder, able to plan the attack game from up front, deliver pin-point passes to penalty box strikers and sometimes score with a long range curve ball himself.
Being a Midfielder he prefers to be on the active side of the team, rather than the more passive defence portion, though he won't hesitate to help the defence when necessary.
Mostly, he doesn't fall into such plain traps nor has any intention to debase himself with meaningless chatter with a bored gefilte-fish! :P
