Subject: World Cup

Hi Friends,

Matan suggested me to talk about WC in Sokker Israel Forum. That is why I open this thread and talk about some matches. Every week (Of course when I have time) I will choose one or two interesting matches and talk about them. This week's match is Argentina versus Poland

As we all know, Poland is the strongest link in the game. And the reason of making this match interesting is the final score of course. It was a close end for Poland. They would nearly lose points.

First of all, let’s see the tactics of both side.

Argentina’s tactic was something like 5-1-3-1 while Poland used 4-2-2-2. Argentina’s coach tried to line up his defense players closer to each other. I think his aim was to stop Poland players by giving Poland less free area. On the other hand, Poland has so quick players. So they don’t care about giving other team some free space. So, the more free area for them means a better game. Therefore, they used 2 wingers who are lying in the left and right side of the pitch. They have wingers with great pace, technique and passing. That is why Argentina used winger backs to stop them.

Defense Part:

Argentina lined 6 players in their own area only. The reason was same as I said above. Also they applied offside tactic which contains a risk. However, Poland coach was a little bit scared I think. So, he placed his 4 defenders only in their side. He didn’t want to see any contra attack I think.

Attack Part:

Argentina believed in their 4 players in the attacking part. One striker always waited for contras by changing his place, and other 3 midfields tried to help both defense and attack. Furthermore, the striker was placed a little bit closed to the midfield to let him try some long shoots. On the other hand, Poland used 2 ATT and 2 wingers who were mostly behind the ball.

And the match:

Poland started better. They found a chance to score at min 7. But the ball went out. However, Argentina could also score at min 13, if Poland had a slower defender.

At min 20, although one of the Poland strikers shoots for the goal, Argentina’s defender blocked the ball as a keeper. And then a bad event happened for Poland. J. Karpiński made a mistake and Argentina scored the first goal.

Up to min 42, the game was in equilibrium. :) Then Argentina missed a goal by their only striker. He got the ball and made a long shoot. However, ball gone to other world. :)

In the beginning of the second half Argentina again missed a goal. The striker, García, headed the ball but it gone out of the goal post.

At min 52, Poland missed a 100% goal. Argentina keeper saved a ball which was sent by a head :) and then Poland player took the rebound but defense was quicker to do a dash.

When the time was showing min 58, Poland again missed a goal. Keeper of Argentina was so successful at that position. (Moreover Poland’s striker was a little bit stupid by trying to pass after rebounding.)

And finally Poland scored by a wing attack at min 61. Argentina defenders were a little bit slow at that position. That is why they saw a goal in their side.

At min 74 Argentina won a corner. And surprisingly they scored the goal. I am sure the coach of Argentina wasn’t waiting a corner goal. :)

In my opinion one of the most important positions took place at min 76. Argentina’s striker missed a long shoot. If he had scored then everything would be different.

Then Poland was again close to score by wings at mid 78. However keeper was in his good day. But it didn’t continue that long. At min 80 he saw the second goal in his net. It was again a draw.

At min 82 Poland missed another position by one and one. But a min later, the final score was obtained by a big mistake of Argentina’s defender. He missed the Poland striker and then the goal was scored.

3-2 for Poland.

The game showed that Argentina needs some more stamina to keep their good work in the pitch. Moreover, in this world cup, we can see Poland in the second place, if some kind of good tactics are made by their opponents. :)

מתן רצה שאני אדבר על הגביע העולמי בפורום סוקר ישראל .
פתחתי תרד זה כדי לדבר על כמה משחקים .
כל שבוע (בהתאם לזמני החופשי) אני אבחר משחק/שניים חשובים ואתן סקירה עליהם .
המשחק השבועי הוא ארגנטינה נגד פולין !
כמו שאנחנו יודעים , פולין היא הנבחרת החזקה ביותר במשחק , והסיבה שהמשחק הזה מעניין היא התוצאה הסופית כמובן .
זה היה משחק צמוד ופולין כמעט הפסידו נקודות .
ראשית נבחן את הטקטיקות של הקבוצות -
המערך של ארגנטינה נראה כמו 5:1:3:1 ואילו פולין שיחקה 4:2:2:2 .
המאמן הארגטינאי ניסה להעמיד את שחקני ההגנה קרובים אחד לשני , אני חושב שכוונתו הייתה לעצור את הפולנים ע"י צמצום השטח הפנוי במגרש .
מצד שני לפולנים יש שחקנים מהירים מאד כך שלא היה אכפת להם לתת לארגנטינאים קצת חופש והחופש שיהיה לפולנים מבטיח משחק טוב יותר .
הפולנים שיחקו עם שני וינגרים עם מהירות נהדרת , טכניקה ומסירה משני צידי המגרש .
בגלל זה ארגנטינה שיחקה עם מגנים כדי לעצור אותם .
החלק ההגנתי !
ארגנטינה שיחקה עם שישה שחקנים שנשארו בחצי שלה מהסיבות שציינתי למעלה וכמו כם היא שיחקה בטקטיקה התקפית עם סיכון , אבל נראה לי שהמאמן הפולני היה מפוחד אז הוא השאיר את ארבעת השחקנים בהגנה בחלק המגרש שלהם כל המשחק וזה כדי למנוע התקפות מתפרצות לדעתי .
החלק ההתפקי !
ארגנטינה האמינה בארבעת השחקנים ההתקפיים שלה , חלוץ אחד חיכה למתפרצות ע"י תנועה במגרש ושלושת הקשרים ניסו לעזור גם להתקפה וגם להגנה .
החלוץ שיחק קרוב לקישור כדי לתת לו אפשרות של בעיטות מרחוק .
מצד שני פולין שיחקה עם שני חלוצים ווינגרים היו תמיד קדימה מהכדור .
המשחק -
פולין החלה את המשחק טוב יותר ובדקה ה-7 קיבלה הזדמנות אבל הכדור חמק החוצה , מצד שני גם ארגנטינה הייתה מבקיעה בדקה ה- 13 אם המגן הפולני היה יותר איטי .
בדקה ה-20 פולין כמעט כבשה אבל המגן הארגנטינאי הרחיק את הכדור כמו שוער ואז קרה אירוע רלא טוב לפולנים , קפרינסקי עשה טעות וארגנטינה הבקיעה 0:1 לארגנטינה .
עד הדקה ה-42 המשחק היה שקול ואז ארגנטינה החמיצה בבעיטה מרחוק , הכדור עף לעולם אחר :)
בתחילת המחצית השניה נפלה הזדמנות קסם לרגלי ארגנטינה אולם החלוץ גרסיה נגח את הכדור מחוץ למסגרת .
בדקה ה-52החמיצה פולין הזדמנות של 100% , השוער הארגנטינאי הדף נגיחה ושחקן פולני השתלט על הריבאונד אבל ההגנה הארגנטינאית הייתה מהירה דיה להרחיק את הסכנה .
בדקה ה-58 פולין שוב בחמיצה הזדמנות נהדרת , השוער הארגנטינאי היה נהדר בנקודה זו (אבל החלוץ הפולני יצא טיפש שניסה למסור את הריבאונד במקום לבעוט) .
בדקה ה-61 פולין השוותה מהתקפת כנף עקב איטיות המגן והם נאלצו לראות את הכדור ברשת שלהם 1:1.
בדקה ה-74 זכו הארגנטינאים בקרן ולהפתעתם הרבה כבשו אתה 1:2 .
אני בטוח שהמאמן הארגנטינאים לא ציפה להבקיע מקרן .
בדקה ה-76 התרחש אחד האירועים החשובים במשחק לדעתי כאשר החלוץ הארגנטינאי החמיץ בעיטה מרחוק ואם הוא היה מבקיע הכל היה נראה אחרת .
הפולנים היו קרובים להבקיע שוב בדקה ה-78 אולם השוער הארגנטינאי תפס יום טוב , אבל זה לא נמשך זמן רב ובדקה ה-80 פולין כבשה 2:2 , שוב שיוויון .
בדקה ה-82 פולין פיספסה הזדמנות של אחד על אחד אולם דקה מאוחר יותר נקבעה תוצאת הסיום בעקבות שגיאה נוראה של הבלם הארגנטינאי, הוא איבד את החלוץ הפולני והשער הובקע 2:3 .

המשחק הראה שארגנטינה זקוקה לכושר גופני טוב יותר כדי לשמור על העבודה הטובה .
אפשר יהיה לראות את פולין מסיימת שניה אןם היריבות יעלו נגדה בטקטיקות טובות .

Hi friends, I was so busy during last two weeks. That is I couldn’t write last two weeks’ articles.

Today, I will talk about USA- Belgium.

USA: It is their 8th season in sokker. They have one of the strongest teams in the game and they have 289 users. In the world ranking they are 14th

Belgium: It is their 7th season in sokker. They have much more users than USA, 2347. In the world ranking, they are 8th.


Tactics:

USA uses a kind of 4-4-2. In the defense, there are 4 players who always stay at there. 1 DMC is lined after them, and 1MC and 2 Wings in the midfield. In the forward part, there are 2 strikers who are always waiting for contras.

On the other hand, Belgium uses a kind of 4-5-1. However, it is a little bit complex. Actually they use 3 defenders who are making offside trap. And 2 winger backs to stop American Wings. See this. However one of the wings is lined as DEF and other as MID. Maybe the coach thought to use Nico De Laere’s defender skill more than pm. The midfield was similar to USA’s tactic. They also used 1 DMC, 1MC and 2 Wings. However, wings were much closer to the lines. And in the attack part there was only one “lonely” striker.

Match:

In the match, it is seen that offside trap of Belgium was working. See this.

In min 2 this offside trap well worked and by this way a dangerous attack was stopped.

Up to min 15, nothing important happened. But in 15th min, one of the Belgium wingers missed a one by one goal. [Or let me say, keeper saved. :) ]

At min 22, one more offside happened for USA.

At min 25, USA a free kick would nearly give USA one goal lead. After a good pass from midfield, a header was saved by the Belgian keeper.

At min 30, Belgium scored the goal. After a throw-in to the left winger, and a good pass to the alone striker caused a head goal. It was a good one.

At min 33, Belgium was again about scoring by using again left winger. However, keeper of USA was quicker.

At min 36, another offside is called for USA. :)

At min 40, one more offside happened for USA. [It was working. :) ]

In the second half, first chance to score was for Belgium. But they couldn’t do it, due to keeper’s pace. [Min 48]

At min 53, Belgium won a corner. The “lonely” striker headed the ball but keeper saved it. Rebound was taken from left side winger but he also couldn’t beat the keeper.

At min 62, “lonely” striker again missed a header.

And a minute later USA found a contra. 100% goal chance was missed.

At min 67….. Guess what??? Another offside for USA. :)) I am sure NT coach kicked the monitor at min 67, after seeing that much offsides for his team.

And one more offside in 68th min. :))

At min 71, our “lonely” striker again missed a header. But this time right winger had made the pass.

At min 86, one of the USA players was offside again.

And match ended 1-0 for Belgium.

This match showed that, if you are in World Cup, you have to have an ability to change your tactic in every match. USA coach always used the same tactic during the Cup. And finally he is beaten by a well prepared coach. Offside trap was great in defense. 7 attack of USA was stopped by this way. USA has really a good team but their tactic was awful. Especially, attacking fails. Congrats to Belgium.
