Subject: Religion differences

Hello people of Izrael,

I want something to debate with you, but first of all, I want something to ask. I am christian, you are jews. We believe in Jesus Christ and his father - The God. I think (but not 100% sure) you too... Am I right? Do we have the same God?

It is not what I want to ask, but it is important for start...
2008-03-23 10:18:38
Jesus was born jewish...
2008-03-23 10:26:27
As far as i know christians believe in jesus, Religous people in israel belive that god has chosen the jews as his chosen people.
they believe only in god, some of them belive in "The Messiah", his name is Rabi Milubavich, he died already but they belive he is the messiah and that he will return from the dead one day bringing with him the words of god.
2008-03-23 11:31:15
we dont believe in Jesus
we believe only in god, we dont believe that god
has a son
generaly we have the same god
the christians believes in the god. his son, and more one somthing (I dont know how its called in English).
We believe that there is only god.
The "mashiah" is only a man that presents the god
and the god gives him powers but the masiah himself has'nt god power
(sorry for the English)
2008-03-23 11:31:17
yes you are right we have the same god the only diffrence we have is you belive your massaich has came : jesus . and we belive the massaich didnt come yet
thats the basic
2008-03-23 11:32:35
But the christians mashiah, Jesus, is the son of god
our mashiah is dont.

There are many other differences as well.
The most important one - Judaism is not only a religion. It is also a nationality. Most of us, Israelies and non-Israelies feel like a part of one ancient nation, we have a common history, We have traditions (that relate to religion, but have there own independant existance).
Basically, we define ourselves as Jews even if we are not religious, or even atheists. (And others define us as such as well).

As for the Jewish relogion, there is a major practical difference between Judaism and Christianity:
Jewish religion requires doing and not just believing. Religious jews have to take many many daily actions much more than typical Christianity in which believing, trusting and loving god is enough. As an Orthodox Jew you are committed to fulfill 613 instructions ("Mitzva") that you are supposed to do (or avoid doing). E.g.: eating Kosher is one that you probably heard of, walking with a head cover is another known one.
Of course, most jews are not orthodox. As I said you don't have to be an Orthodox Jew to define yourself as a Jew.

Okay, thank you all for answer, I just wanted to know if our God is one and the same... And now, the thing I wanna ask...
You have your own state, your land (Izrael) and it belongs only to you, right? But everywhere around you, are islamic world...
You are the only state in that region, who has another religion than islam, is that right?
2008-03-23 13:02:44
yes
2008-03-23 13:33:23
So, and there are sure some islamic people also in Izrael (palestinians for example but also another) and they want their rights... They want, I don't know to have their own cathedrals or churches or what they have, they want to do things which is normal in their religion, also in your country right?

And your goverment must accept it? I'm speaking about normal things, not extremic... I'll try to make an example. Islamic people can't eat flash from pigs, or drink alcohol. So they want to restaurant in let's say Haifa, where will no pig's meat or alcohol on menu... There is no such restaurant in Haifa (this is example) and they want it. What will you do? Open new restaurant?

in israel we have synagogues, Mosques and churches because we have jews(most of the people) Muslim and christians here.
and here even in restaurants who belong to Muslims u have alcohol.

But I'm asking this, because we have "problems" with those people in Europe. You know them for years, and know how it is... They are not belong to Europe, they are here as "visitors" (not right word but I can't find better). They want everything what takes to their religion. They are threaten people of another religion, last time again for caricatures of Mohammed. I don't know if this people don't know what caricature means, but they scream "Denmark burn! Usama is hero, Jihad will kill you" etc. etc. All of this for one caricature.

Another example, in Germany. 9y old boy, have a sandwich with pig's meat for breakfast in school. He share with it with his class mates who were islamics. When they discovered that they eaten pig's meat then want to punish the boy. At the end, also school punished him, and he musted to clear a school as a fine.

And there are more examples, islamic people still wants more and more and I'm just starting to worried, that we will be fear in our native countries by these people, as it is happend in Izrael (when they commit bobm attacks on your civilians...

Muslims cause problems all over the world, its a known problem, they gonna take over EU in a few years unless you people do something.
2008-03-23 14:08:01
its sad..
the goverments dont do nothing ageinst them..

in our country maybe we live with them in few places,
in the streets we together but we dont liveing our lives with them, we just in same place like them
and many jewish hate the islamic and many islamic hate jewish.
and our goverment dont do nothing..they dont care
2008-03-23 14:46:37
yes, you're right. In last days or months, I saw offen link to this video. People in Europe are starting to realize, that there are something wrong with manners of these people... (muslims).
In my country (Slovakia) we don't have problems with muslims yet. There are really just a few of them here, maybe not even 1%) but our people are interesting in whats is happening in a world, about muslims. Our goverment make a law, that when someone wants to "create" new religion (because our goverment support official religions on Slovakia) must have at least 20 000 members in their religion on Slovakia. Before, you need only 20 000 signatures. But you can get a paper and let 20 000 christians sing it.

We christians can't commit suicide as muslims. In our religion it is big sin. I mean now, whats happening (or maybe already not) in Izrael. When muslim take a bomb, hide it into his clothers and blow up some bus with normal people, who goes to work, or to school, and they didn't do nothing to him. But he killed them, because they are... I don't even know what he thinks those peope are? And he thinks he goes to Allah because he sacrifice himself for his love to Allah...

You know, I fear the day, when I will be scare to go out in my native land, because some fanatic wants to kill himself and take so many normaln peope with him as he can...

ok, if we look on the basic thing, muslim, jewish and christian have the same god.
its doesn't matter if you call him God Hashem or even Allah. we all share the belive in one god.

you should and should not being scared from muslim peoples.
not everyone is suicide. but they have collective responsibility. if they feel other muslim is hurt, they will try to help him by the way they think is the best way. not always (even, almost never) we think is the best way, actually, we usually think they will get the opposite, but this is their mentality.

about how the live in Israel. they have mosques, they can chose where to eat, actually, we the religious jewish didn't eat pig too ;)

generally they learn in differnt school. and there is lot of disagreement between them, and us.
