Subject: New Look Malaysia Team

mysprs [del] to All
A very good try, chop out the older players, and give younger new bloods a chance. Basically, this is Malaysia U22 team.

Although, this don't turn into result, overall, they did ok. Malaysia have more chances and also it is quite some time Malaysia played a passing game, scored good in passing, although it is only India.

I would say, the defence formation needs to be tighter, our defense is not paceful, thus it is suicide, if play it too high up the field. should be a bit deeper.

do our NT coach invulnerable from critics??? i need to vent my feelings of NT future seriously. we are no longer in experimental stage. we should at least at the same level as India but we got trashed by them. what i saw in that game is that not our players are weak but its the lack of strategies. As the Tactics itself mentioned: M'sia Def, but still they easily broke down our defenses line. So who should i blame? the players for being so slow? what we need today is someone who have vast experience in strategies. someone who able to cope our weaknesses. i know that our current NT coach tried his best for our NT, fought with superior teams in qualifying, but you still lacks in experience. i dont want to see our sokker NT same as the reality NT team. im sorry for my rudeness. im not open for argument because im no good at it. but im here for the sake of our team. Cheers!

As mention in my post, I say it is a good start to get the right players in, player selection wise, to me is ok, much more better than previous matches, fielding a same aging loosing side again and again. We have keep on using players that are above 25, and even that we don't get result, and lose.

So, the next right thing to do is to use younger player, which have potential to improve. And I think he get it right, that this is necessary. He even omit Syamsul Amri Faisal, which is 23 years old, our best strikers so far.

But I didn't say the strategy is correct, in fact it is far from competent. It is obvious, the 3 goals conceeded are base on poor positioning, all the goals are scored where almost no defenders in the penalty box area. And also, the use of of Sumardi at wide, whilst he has only brilliant scoring to shout about and nothing else, make him impossible to score. Sumardi is the SL top scorers, so he should get this chance in a friendly game like this. The only way to use Sumardi is in the centre, get some right people to pass the ball to him, which the NT is not doing currently.

There are many more strategy that I don't agree and think it could be better. However, I don't really want to comment much on strategy. I believe if people is trying and improving we should give them chances. I opt to view the positive side of the the team.

And also this is just a friendly game. Friendly game is a place for managers to make mistake in strategy, to know the players better so that he can get it right in actual match. No coach in the world is sacked by poor strategy in friendly match. One might field the stupiest strategy in friendly match to see what the players actually capable of. So, I don't judge in friendly match.

The only match winnable in the qualifying is against Ecuador, and the NT coach has apologised immediately after the match by getting the strategy wrong.

Apreciate sialunx opinion, the election is near, it is for everyone to choose the NT coach. And maybe sialunx wants to be candidate too.

On the current NT coach, it is not really fair to judge him base on experience. On his NT election speech, it is clear that he mentioned, he have least experience. But he said he will make up by
1) to make Malaysian users community have more social gathering, have weekend gathering and etc.
2) to raise the user base in Malaysia
3) to make a newbies guide to Malaysian newbies
4) to coordinate the Malaysia NT development and encourage interaction between users

Because of this, he won the election, and voters that vote him and support him, willing to sacrifice the experience of the NT teams, as long as he get the 4 things he promised above correctly.

So to me he should judge on what he promised, not his experience and strategy.

And, I am not too convince too, that NT coach has close to achieve any of the above. No offense. At least the easiest thing like to organise gathering also haven't done.

So, if you frustrate with the NT coach, election is coming.

i agree with sialunx, we shd be at same level as inida or even better, if u watch the game carefully it is really inexperince stategy used. i think jawor and tigermaster have done better for the passed 2 season. not only inexperince he also dun reply player sk mail, i have a few mail to him but he never reply, is this the way as a NT coach? and if u remember his election speech, he has dine nothing so far.
2008-01-12 12:22:20
since you all started, i also want to say sometihng..... i hav sent a few mail to him also non was reply, i eventualy stop doing scouting for him. i think nt coach shd use free NT schedule on testing U21 player, that is very important. abt the game againt india.......hiaz......see it urself.

well im not complaining just because the election is near and never thought of being a candidate. look at my tactic, its all the same for every match. so i dont think i will be a suitable candidate to run NT. i would say for those who actually really have the experience should go for the election this time around.

if u want to do gathering, increase users etc. i dont think u can only do that once u become NT coach right? for me, we should stop thinking of getting a new users to sokker. lets just hang on to what we have here currently.

wooikeim did a great jobs off the field where he tried his best to get us close together. its just because of people like me who has been given the responsibility to mentoring a group that didnt do the job!. so im worthless.

what i really hope is that voters to be more wiser this time in selecting candidates :)
2008-01-12 12:44:02
Ok ok guys shall we stop blaming him. Right now i believe that all of us are aware that handling NT is not an easy task as it looks like. u need to have passion, determination and yet again eXpErIeNcE to be NT coach.

I think knowledge of this game also very important, look at game against Italy a half fit keeper was played instead of Lokmanhalkim Bin Tumin. Although Azahar bin Kamaludin might have higher keeper skill than my player but remember this, half fit means not full potential, game againt india, Lokmanhalkim Bin Tumin was not play either, I though NT coach should have play at least 2nd choice keeper at least to allow him to have extra training for playing NT game. I can tell you that i sacrifice my whole just to train keeper. Training keeper are not easy and expensive too. The most you can train are only 2 player, this my 2nd season training keeper, as you can see the quality of my team, you can even lose to a bot team. But I feel I have at least do something for my country. Malaysia Boleh.

Lokmalhakim bin Tumin, age 20
value: 6 801 250 RM, wage: 34 375 RM
divine form

unsatisfactory stamina,
excellent pace,
poor technique,
very good passing,
brilliant keeper
weak defender
unsatisfactory playmaker
unsatisfactory striker

Account balance: -412 891 RM

Although I am playing Singapore Sokker , but as Malaysian SPR I feel sad for Malaysia even this is only a game, please take a look at Singapore NT, we are at our 1st season in World Cup Qualifying and we get 4 point, Malaysia…. How many season? How many player? Think it yourself, someone can even praise the coach… lol?

Firstly I would like to apologies to Tigermaster for my critics on him last season, up till today only I realize how well he has done for my country last season. Hope he will participate on next season NT election. I have done nothing for Malaysia so far, but at least I can vote.
My vote to Tigermaster +1

I personally think jaworlegia is doing pretty well for Malaysia NT, if you can remember malaysia player increased rapidly because of his hardwork spamming hattrick.org and he even get himself banned on hattrick.org. he doing well on keeping track player progress by using SKVeiwer you just need to updated he will know how good your player are.(btw how our current NT coach keep track on player progress?) he even sk mail to all who have player playing for NT on particular weeks, this really make me exciting and looking forward on weekend NT match. He even answer all queries about your player even they are not NT potential.

For those interested, let me further elaborate, the history of NT coach in Malaysia.

First - Fire Escape's coach
-> Out reason, not interested to reply to users and use only team members mostly from Fire Escape
-> We need a change, and vote Woob.

Second - Woob
-> Out reason, get banned for second time due to multiple accounts
-> jaworlegia is the best profile candidate gettting great result for Romania, so he get voted.

Third - jaworlegia
-> Out reason, narrowly beaten by Tigermaster as some think that he doesn't get the result on the latest match and also very minimal communciation with the users.
-> Thus Tiger won as he was the most loyal foreign mentor in Malaysian forum, and has good relations with many users.

Fourth -> Tigermaster
-> Out reason, due to complains on his tactics and also he don't communicate with Malaysian users, only on a very small group in wooikeim's group. And also, as many new users on that election, the sentimnets are Malaysian for NT coach.
-> So, quite alot of members choose wooikeim, it is understood at that time, that wooikeim don't offer much experience, but base on previous few coaches in NT inclusive of jaworlegia and Tigermaster, we need someone that will communicate with the users, second priority on experience. You might not agreed, but the votes don't lie.

So, what next? Don't you see we are repeating our same problem?

Malaysian users need to be realistic,, need to know exactly what they want, then choose the right person.

I am not supporting wooikeim, as I mentioned he didn't delivered what he promised in his speech. But what I see is, we will back to square one again.

I will foresee, next election we will choose the most experience one on next election, expecting him to get result immediately just like jawor. Coaches with that profile will not have much time for Malaysian users, will concentrate more on strategy and tactic, and people will start complaining again, and vote for another one like Tigermaster and this cycle evolve again maybe to another Malaysian which has less experience.

And it evolve.
2008-01-12 17:05:59
To me, the main problem is we are not realistic, like the Malaysian NT team, we rate highly on our squad capability, but the actual fact we are nowhere near.

For Singapore case, it is because they get Siberia, a weaker country than Singapore that is why they get 4 points. For Malaysia, we are not so lucky to get Ecuador, same strength with Malaysia, but have better coach.

Even in jaworlegia time, a very experienced coach guiding Romania for great results, the match 2007-03-24 with Ecuador, we still can't beat them, the result is 4-4. We are in tough group this time. Or course, with better strategy we can beat Ecuador, but this is football.

What more important is to build a stronger Malaysia team, and I disagree that to some it means to get better experience coach.

I disagree that we don't need a stronger user base to build a stronger NT team. There are currently have less than 20 teams in Malaysia that have proper training plan, there are more than 20 teams that are quite inactive and will be deleted from the DB in a few months time, and another 20 teams that do not play sokker correctly with proper coach and training.

Base on this, even a super coach won't make Malaysia strong. We have tried that with jaworlegia last time, and I will foresee if we do not lower expectation to build Malaysia sokker base and hope for a super experience coach, we will still sack him and get another coach and the cycle evolve again.

If only wooikeim promised as what he promised, I think we are in a right direction.
2008-01-12 17:22:54
Now I saw people praising jaworlegia and Tigermaster, at that time I give full support to jaworlegia and Tiger, praising their work, yet people still complain they don't do well on tactic and also don't communicate with the users.

Different tune is heard now, just view back the pre election message board, see the complains there and you will know what I mean.

I strongly believe we need to give strong support to our NT coach whoever he is as he gets the most vote. If he can't delivered what he promised, then we only not supporting him on the next election.

During the tournament campaign, what good we have if we don't support our own NT coach? Give him a full support, if we have any positive idea on improving NT, you can talk to him or have a forum discussion like now.

I am not criticising anybody here, I just highlight what I think is hitting Malaysia NT here. High expectatio for a super experience coach, with minimal effort from the users. We want Malaysia to be stronger, yet we expect a single NT coach will just do it.

Does this really work with minimal participation from Malaysian users? More user base, meaning more players base and more participation base.
2008-01-12 18:08:36
im being realistic here. im not asking us to win in the qualifying against those top countries. even an experience coach will surely lose in this competition. but what im looking for is a better tactics display by the team. if experience tactical coach is there, he will minimize the margin of loosing where he can spot the weakness. right now i still see a lot of holes in defenses where there is no improvement in line defense.
2008-01-12 18:12:25
I agree on what you say.

I believe continuity will help much. Experience coach without giving time to do what they want to do is not so good. Less experience coach with more time for them to experiment, might get better result.

Just theory. But changing coach every season do not help, as far as I concern. I believe choose for 1 coach that is very suitable, give him 2 to 3 seasons, and judge him on the actual result, friendly game is just to experiment.

But the candidates must be very suitable for this to work.
