mysprs [del] to All
First of all, you all would would questioning me, why another thread for condor88, isn't there is an existing thread for condor88, and it is not fair for candidates to have two thread. Well, I purposely do this, reason is just want to highlight a point, having a team consisting various members are not fair, you can do much more things compare to having a single candidate.

Then, the next question is why I campaign and wrote this, isn't it condor88 already loss, and only a controversial decision to extend the game/election make us stil in the running. Well, I give you another situation Italy vs Australia in World Cup Quarter Final, score 0-0, Australia scored a goal in the match at 90 minutes, 1-0, hold on, the referee don't saw it went in across the line, the goal is not counted, where everyone saw it. So, extra time. What you think the Italy team should do in the extra time? Walk out the match because it is not fair, or try their best to really win it, since we are already in the pitch? My only regret last time is, I didn't wrote this in the 90 minutes, and I need the extra time to wrote and campaign for the team. If the score remains 1-0, and we lose it, I will very regretful, because I don't even write what I/we can offer for the team in precise points form and lose the election.

I will give it a try again in the extra time. May the best team win.

Why elect me/condor88?
1. I am one of the active Malaysia users in the forum, if not the most active one. I have a very good picture on all Malaysian players as I am buying Malaysians only and have monitor the transfer market daily since 3-4 seasons ago. I know their skills well and what they can bring into the NT.
2. Weakness and strength of Malaysian players are already identified. With the team, we will ensure at least 80 percent of the players are trained to the NT needs and hopefully the clubs needs. Not all trainers will corporate.
3. I will try to grow Malaysian user base when I have free time, I have the track records and wouldn't say more. With a team, I can do it even better, people to share the loads and inputs.
4. The teams will involve the Malaysian users and Overseas users which own NT players by communicating with them on training plan and skill updates. At least three person to share the loads.
5. Most of the member of team have PLUS except myself. PLUS will helps on analysing Opponents strength. As mentioned before, the tasks of running the NT like devise tactical play, study opponents tactic/players, scouting, communication with users will be equally distributed on the 5 members of the team.

Our Plans for the Season:
1. I will try to bring in 1 or 2 users from Malaysia to the team. By doing this, we have a few Malaysian users that are expose to international NT setup that is a norm in other bigger sokker nation. The aim is in 2-3 seasons time, this group of Malaysian users will be independent enough to run the NT by itself.
2. Around 40 plus players are identified as the core players, golden generation of Malaysia, this players will be emphasized by the team to get best training. If this is done properly, in 2 season time, Malaysia will have a strong squad of qualifying for World Cup. This season Malaysia's average rating is 47, the worst team that qualify for world cup average rating is 53. With 2 seasons of proper training and monitoring, we are targeting the average rating is 56 to 57, and hope to be at least close for the World Cup qualifying.
3. Two of Malaysia team weakest areas is the top agenda for the team, to have more paceful defenders and to have better balance in midfielders. We have enough midfielder players talent, but not the right balance, centre midfielders are more than wingers.
4. Whilst the team might have better idea on how to run forums and bring in trainers to the forum, wooikeim's Mentor System should be continue with some improvment to provide communication with new teams that don't use the forum and encourage them to do so. The target is bringing more users to come in and maintain them.
5. The teams will try to scout players to their best effort, at least 3 people will be doing it in the team. We would like to avoid previous NT coaches mistakes missing out NT talents because doing it single handledly. I have found a few that is left out and a few prospects that are very high potential and does not given attention for training. With a team, hope to avoid this.
6. For other plans, please refer to the main condor88 election page.

The reason I campaign hard for condor88 is I believe on his sokker view for Malaysia and not Tigermaster view.

Condor88 believes Malaysia game should base on very paceful defenders and some good defensive midfielders with the strikers remain. And to identify some playmakers and with good positioning and little training, we will play some good counter attack football games. Hard to break, but dangerous in attack. Saying that, Malaysian teams should builld from the back, and we will ensure trainings/emphasis are given in this areas.

Tigermaster view are very much on improving Malaysian midfielders and base the game on attacking play. He highlighted that Malaysia weakest areas are midfielders and condor88 highlighted Malaysia weakest areas are defenders. And since Malaysian are strongest in attack, base on my underrstaning he will derive a game plan base on utilising the attacking players we have.

Well, this is opinion, no one will know who will be right or wrong unless both given chance to show it, we will never have an answwr. But my view is with condor88, we should build from the back ensure defenders are international standard than have good defensive midfielders to win the ball and hopefully some good positioning will win us some goals in matches. Having an more attacking play, it means to me we needs wingers and attacking midfielders and Malaysia does not have both. Malaysia have the strikers but does not have the midfielders wingers/attacking midfielders to play an attacking game. And if we play with a strong defensive teams that play counter attack, I see we will have problems.

Thus, on my view again, I believe it is easier to emphasize training on defenders pace then to train our players to be attacking minded.

I'm glad of this thread :))

Mr Kenny,

Yeah, we already lose in 90 minutes, but the decision flavour us to have the game extended to extra time. Now is extra time, lets give our best!
2008-02-19 14:53:09
what flavour? =p just kidding
2008-02-19 15:01:48
wow, someone actually really reading the thread.

This explain why favour is purposely mispell, to gauge whether the audience is paying attention.

Just kidding.
2008-02-19 16:06:28
The referee is Byron Moreno, so we have extra time :P
2008-02-19 18:21:19
a lot of extra time :PP

condor88 believes Malaysia quick defenders good def mids and Tigermaster think attacking play is what Malaysia should be doing.

is it just preference? weaker/stronger countries play this way? or current/future players taken into consideration? teams' training plan can supply such requirements?

hope you allow Tigermaster to answer in here too.

I think condor88 view is base on his observation on one particular match. He saw Malaysia players are competitive enough in GK, AT, MF but DF is too slow. True enough, Malaysia GK scores 70+, Striker scores 60+, 2 midfielders scores 50+, all are international standard score. Teams that qualified for world cup have this type of players too. But our defenders scoring 40+ and 30+. This is below international standard.

And he saw most of the goals conceeded because the defenders can't cope with the opponents striker pace. International striker pace is at least outstanding, and our defenders are much more lower than this.

And he saw in this particular match we used the defensive midfielders but the positioning is wrong. The purpose of defensive midfielders are to close down the strikers to disallow long shot, but the position is too high up, thus allow the opponent striker shoot in long range.

Using defensive midfielders are prefence of course, but I do believe if your team defenders are weak, you need 1 or even 2 defensive midfielders. In the beginning of wooikeim campaign I saw him using flat 4 midfielders against stronger teams, and get trashed alot. And once defensive midfielders are used, the scored is lower down. In football reality, MU needs Carrick, Arsenal needs Fabregas and Chelsea needs Makelele. I believe every great football team needs a defensive midfielder that is ball winner, tackle it and distribute it quick to counter attack. This is a preference, a wise preference.

And Malaysia have the players to play all this, we have 2 good defensive midfielders, international standard, just needs a bit of training and have some good midfielders too. I am currently monitoring the training of Hong and Rashid, both DM for Malaysia. And we have Rushanizan too to make it 3.

What condor88 think is by putting first priority to train pace for defender to the existing defenders who are good in secondary, and a good positioning in defensive midfielders and some good positioning for other midfielders to create chances, our striker can just do the job. It is not an ambitious effort, just work closely on all the defenders trainers in Malaysia first.

And I agree on his view entirely. This is exactly what I thoguht in my few years observation and condor88 can read my thought in only one game.

On Tigermaster analsyis, he has his points too. He identified that Malaysia strongest position is striker. Agree. We just put a newcomer last match and he scored a goal. We have 3-4 international strikers and at least 4-5 strikers will make it too, if proper training are given.

I think Tigermaster believe in fully utilise our strong point, a good theory. So, he said he wants to play a way where we can fully utilise on our strikerforce strength.

And Tigermaster highlighted that Malaysia midfielders are the weakest link. He is right, when during his time, our midfielders are very weak, only Rushanizan scoring 50+, the rest are not even close and all except Hong, Haji Menan and Mustapha is above 23 years old. And 3 of them still not good enough at his time. But recent development, Hong and Haji Menan already developed to a very good player, together with Rushanizan we have 3 midfielders that can score 50+ and above. Rashid is next. And we have 2 to 3 players that are close to making it, in one season time, I would says midfielders are not a problem in quality, but still a problem in quantity.

And NT coach will have limited choice to play their tactic because of the limited choice the midfielders have.

I think both of them are spot on.

But I don't agree Tigermaster view highlighted below, hope Tigermaster can clarify the doubt

1) How can Malaysia plays a more attacking games, where the only strength Malaysia have is a bunch of good strikers? I believe attacking games meaning, good wingers and good attacking midfielders, and we don't have any single of them, not even close. We only have 3-4 all rounder midfielders. Manchester United is an attacking minded teams, because they have strong wingers/attacking midfielders not strong strikers.

In short, I believe, if you don't have high pace and high technic wingers/midielders ,you can't play attacking games, no matter how good your strikers are.

To me, the statement by Tigermaster sounds not right, at one stage he highlighted our midfielders are the weakest position, yet he think our best strategy is playing more attacking.

How to play more attacking when your midfield is weak?

2) Secondly, as highlighted above, I have pointed out that Malaysian defenders are not up to international standard. But in one of Tigermaster comment previously, he mentioned our defenders are ok, only wrong position, problem is in midfielders.

What I worry is he didn't identified correctly Malaysia weakest point on my opinion, defender pace, and concentrate on effort to training plan that supply Malaysia other weak link, midfielders attacking skills.

To me Malaysia midfield is weak, if you want to play attacking football, and you need alot of efforts to train Malaysia players to reach this level, at least 2-3 seasons.

And Malaysia midfielder is ok, if we play solid/counter attack football, and identifying one or 2 good playmakers with high playmaker and high passing to create scoring opportunity.

Thus to me priority number 1 is to work closely with the trainers to create international standard defenders. And I don't see Tigermaster mentioning anything about the need of it. This worries me, if he thinks Malaysia defenders are ok and he he is NT coach.

with a good tattic defenders could do better their job, maybe they wouldn't be at international standards level, but we can get more from them...

the problem is about future players, now that a player is 22yo he has only 2 seasons of traning to grow, maybe trainers aren't interested in coaching pace for next 2 seasons cause they got other plans, maybe some trainers don't even train defenders...

the biggest job was and will be to build relationships with trainers when players are young enough to elaborate a training plan...sometimes it is very difficult for a trainer to change plans, he could loss a lot of money, so this kind of job must be done when players are young enough...

now we can just try to build reletionships and lineup better defense but mystakes were done before...I'm afraid to say this cause I think previous manager have done all the best they can do to let malaysia grow but experience and knowledge of the game is also this!

@ Condor I'm not trying to campaign in your thread

@ Mysprs

Sorry but WHAT???? - You have contradicted yourself... The weakness is in the Malaysian Midfield. This is also a DEFENSIVE MID!! not a defender! If Malaysia has the Def Mid's to play in the position then that is where the attack starts from. Be it to a winger or to a "Target Man" who in turn plays the ball off to the strikers. If a team can control the Midfield they will be able to make more passes to their forwards thus achieving more shots on goal. If Malaysian Defenders are not quite up to International standard, be it not enough pace or tech, play them slightly deeper. This may bring the attacker closer to the goal, but if there is a fumble, there is more chance that the keeper can pick the ball up.

Please can you also tell me why you have referred to Manchester United?? Man U is an EPL team, and one of the best/most well known in the world. However at this stage, if you were to compare National teams with English teams, Polska would be one of the top teams, (Chelsea, Arsenal, Man U, Liverpool etc.) And then you would compare Malaysia with a team in the Championship.

In regards to 2) You asked me what i thought was the weakest general position, not general statistic for the individual players. So how can you say that my opinion is wrong??
2008-02-20 13:58:11
Thanks for answering.

First of all, I must clear this up, in the above, countless time, I said that there is probably no one has the right answer and wrong answer, just not possible. I didn't mention your opinion is wrong. Please get it right first!

I just mention, my opinion contradict to your opinion and my opinion are more towards to condor88 view.

Let me mention my view again, if it is not clear, I feel Malaysia is strong in defensive midfielder, we have Rushanizan, Hong and Rashid and probably more. I think Malaysia weakest position is defender not midfielder.

The use of the EPL teams example, are to express my view which are to play more attacking football you need good midfielders. This is my view!

You might have different view, to play attacking formation can base on weaker midfielder.

I am not saying you are wrong, I just said I didn't agree.

in my opinion it will have much importance the defensive phase as it has said mysprs (a 0-0 is better than to lose 5-4:)) but for this i don't renounce to the offensive phase. and with the scout I trying to form for the future a good mid offensives.

So you would prefer to see a boring match finish 0-0 than see a very exciting match end up in a 1 goal loss? Just like your 5-4 Example?

5-4 would mean you have the right mix of players in the squad and have great attacking options!

@ Mysprs - I think we need to agree to disagree
2008-02-20 15:46:47
but in the official match (or mini WC) with a 0-0 are 1 point, a lose 5-4 are 0 point!
in friendly also a lost 5-4 are good!
