Ultimately not happy with that match. Our midfield was way too static.. not moving the ball around as well as I would have liked. Their Offside trap worked incredibly well, I lost count of the number of times we were offside. Should have scored at least two more goals with clear cut chances in front of goal without a keeper between the posts and then hitting the far post. Rather disappointing to see that from a Magical striker.

The first seven minutes won the game for us, a break away from Yusri bin Anusai scoring a 1v1 against the keeper, then two minutes later Rashid bin Hassana crossed in onto Yusri's head to score the second.

Didnt like the gap left in the defensive line when Malzlan bin Tumin pushed up the field and didnt get back quick enough to cover the massive hole. Any better team would have capitalised on that and put a couple of goals through that... Something to work on for next week.

Azahar bin Kamaludin had a decent game between the goals, made a couple of nice saves but didnt really have to do that much all together.

Altogether a solid win for Malaysia, however rather disappointing result considering the start to the game that we had. Full credit to RD for playing an offside trap which prevented a number of extra chances which could have turned into more goals for us.

A question to all candidates

Would you play Malaysia in the Mini World Cup?

I would like to register Malaysia into the tournament now to make sure that we definately make it in (i dont see why we wouldnt tho)

Also - any users who wish to voice their opinion please feel free

Malaysia take on Makedonja tomorrow. The tactic and line up is set - Looking for a win here to gain ranking points more than anything. Should be a decent contest, however I wont be home for the weekend (leaving for a camping trip till monday afternoon) so wont be able to see the match until I get home.

Looking for a win this match. Ill be creating a competition to start next week (as in previous seasons) and the Mini World Cup starts next week too. Hopefully Malaysia can progress out of the group stages (depending on the draw).

Also, would like to introduce a new scout into the NT team. Sx890410 is now the Striker Scout. He plays in Australian Division II.01 and is a striker trainer himself.

I will post an updated fixture list once I have the list completed and I am back home.

Not sure what is happening with the later stages of the Mini World Cup.

Very happy with the group that Malaysia has been put in too! With teams like Jamaica and Latvia being ranked a fair bit lower than us, should give us the chance to progress through to the 2nd round. Definitely not saying that it will be a walk over by any means. I will be taking the utmost care in creating a tactic and ensuring that Malaysia can progress through to the 2nd round. Bosna i Hercegovina will be a tough challenge, but if the team plays as well as they did against Chile in the World Cup Qualifications, we will give them a run for their First position.

I still need to find two friendlies for Weeks 9 and 10. Preferably and U21 game in week 10 but at this stage I am just looking for a match.

Malaysia takes on South Africa in about 5 minutes. South Africa has played with the same general tactic since we last took them on last season. I have tried to cover their winger and I am also trying to stop their two strikers from moving around too much.

Hopefully it will end in a close game for Malaysia, I have gone for the win and taken a big risk here, hopefully it pays off!

was not so bad but personaly i didnt like the tactic but it was a hard game to play
2008-11-03 16:55:09
yeah mate , but South Africa is really hard opponent , so that so isn't surprising as for me, of course .
2008-11-03 17:03:15
shure it was a hard game i already said that. was a nice ending after all

I had to try something to prevent their strikers getting through our defence. In the end a lack of stamina cost us the goals, but the tactic seemed to work well against them. I knew that they wouldnt change their tactic too much (especially after they won 5-1 last time against Malaysia) And knew I had to try and make goals for us. I was hoping that we could get a goal or 2, or force them into Extra time or Penalties. Unfortunately it was not to be and Malaysia has been knocked out of the MWC.

Good thing to note however, Malaysia did qualify out of the Group stages and Challenged South Africa. If we had have progressed we would have been playing Russia where it would be another tough game but a game that could have resulted in a Semi final birth. Not to be but still was a good run.

This week we take on Makedonjia. Hopefully We can get back to winning ways after two tough games and gain some vital ranking points back.
