1) firstly, train technique to outstanding for a start
2) if you don't have outstanding pace midfielder, then train the same player until reach outstanding
Winger is like Ronaldo - Manchester United, fast (pace) and can dribble (technique). Sometimes he might play central midfielder for tactical reason, but still having outstanding pace and technique for your centre midfielders are good idea in sokker, as your player can beat off his marker. And Malaysia best midfielder is having excellent technique, only 1 or 2, the rest much much worst than it, some top 10 midfielders have average technique.
After pace and technique for your winger, then you might need passing (outstanding) and playmaker (formidable/outstanding). Passing is after you dribble your oppoinents, you need to pass the ball accurately to the striker. Playmaker is you need to release the ball faster before opponents defenders tackle you. No point, you are Ronaldo in dribbling, but have no end product, cannot cross, cannot pass. Opponents sure will regain the ball.
You need midfielders with high technique to open up a tight tactical formation.
In the better sokker nation, the wingers need to be at least adequate in defender, but for a start for Malaysia, having outstanding technique, pace, passing and playmaker is a good idea and competitive. And we are far from having one. The closer we have is Ibrahim Majid which needs alot of pace and technique training and also some playmaker training.
Without players that can play wingers, operate at the wing, your team become predicatable, and become tactically lack of option and tactically predicatable. Not a good thing for a NT manager.

i guess we can compromise a little on the playmaking side regarding wingers since they run direct to the end line and is more or less compensated by the 'incredible' technique which buys them time
If u think he is capable to train for wing then i will try to train, if not i will build him as striker
Mohd Marzuki bin Mat Jusoh, age 18
value: 428 750 RM
wage: 4 875 RM
incredible form
average stamina hopeless keeper
average pace poor defender
very good technique average playmaker
good passing average striker
(Current training pace + atk)

When i read your post, i knew that you are very experience in sokker. I hope after this election, whoever win the elction (tiger or condor), you willstill teach us about this game. And maybe you can act as spokeperson for malaysian.
I also agree to you that we have to give the chance to the NT manager at least for 2 season (1 world cup).
For your info, i dont know that our NT need winger. What i knew before, we need defender.
Condor...
please say something, at least to show you are seriously to be NT manager. I knew, you done a good job previously.
Good luck...
toong...

ahjun85,
I think your player Marzuki is a very good prospect for NT winger. Below is my player, one of the leading candidates one year older than Marzuki. This is to give you idea where Marzuki stands again his peers. Marzuki is not too bad.
Tuan Rosli bin Abdul Hamidi, age: 19
club: mysprs, country: Malaysia
value: 1 096 250 RM, wage: 7 000 RM
divine form, excellent tactical discipline
weak stamina tragic keeper
excellent pace good defender
very good technique very good playmaker
good passing adequate striker
I think bsehben opinion is great advice. I would add up my opinion.
1) You can continue training pace, so that your strikers benefit from it too. Maximum, Marzuki should reach outstanding in pace, lesser is ok.
2) Then you would train technique, and your strikers will benefit from it too. However, I would remind you that even with continuos technique training, he will not be any near to NT, due to average playmaker and average striker.
3) Thus, it is better his technique training reach to excellent first, then train him playmaker and passing. The idea is to make him a NT wingers for U21 team.
4) Then train him playmaker and passing to excellent level, before training technique and pace again.
5) It is better for him to make it to NT as soon as possible, so that he has more NT experience, and also training will be slightly more effective if he is NT player.
6) Last thing, if possible, invest in assistant coaches, with 3 assistant coaches the popup of other skills are faster. So, whilst you train pace, you might get a popup on technique too.

I quite agree on your opinion. This is the entry level for Netherland wingers.
formidable pace
formidable technique
formidable playmaker
formidable passing
adequate defender
Entry level, meaning the lowest they can goes to, in order to be in the bench at least, you need much much more higher than that.
And in Malaysia context, I agree that we should compromise in defender. Then for wingers, the next skills we can compromise is playmaker skills. Other coaches might not agree on this, well this is my thought, and this is condor thought too. See the Malaysia entry requirement in NT page. Playmaker is not as important compare to pace, technique and passing.
However, your playmaking skills should not go too low, or else, your players are just good in dribbing, passing opponents and cannot release the ball soon enough.
In international level, expect the opponents defenders have at least incredible pace, and if your wingers do not have better pace than the opponent defenders, chances are lower playmaker skills will make him loose the ball to faster defender due to not releaing the ball soon enough.
The idea of having wingers or higher technique midfielders is to open up play, when your playmaking skill is too low lets say very good/excellent it will not create chances, maybe just the match has more entertainment, where you see your players beat up 1 or 2 players before loosing the ball.

Yeah, please come to me for any opinion on sokker. I really don't mind sharing, just that previously I might be more proactive on mailing users to ask them whether they have any question to ask, now you need to mail me, so that I know you need opinion from myself.
You might also post it up in the forum, I am sure some regular forumers will give their opinion, I will add up mine too, but if you need my personal opinion, please mail me and do remember to remind me, if I don't reply to you.
Sometime I will get alot of sokker mails, and I might miss out yours.
This time last season, our NT defenders are the problematic position. At that time, we have only Mazlan Tumin that is still receiving effective trainings that are good enough to be in first team, the rest of the defenders are aged above 24. And there is not alot of young defenders that are coming up. The next batch defenders are Ali Wahab, Edward Abdullah which are no where near Mazlan.
I have work with Cryptic Hunters to continue improving Mazlan. And this season, due to our scouting system, we manage to find Sri Jaafar and Harizul, both are same age or younger than Mazlan and capable to be in Mazlan level. This is one of the teams achievement in iroining the problem of 'problematic position'.
So, we have 3 defenders, first eleven material, on top of Khufur, which are very good too, but we don't have his statistic, as his trainers don't release much info about him. And we can still use the older defenders like Firdaus, Nazri or the second echelon defender like Ali Wahab and Edward. And last two weeks, we just managed to discover Fadzli too, which is in between the first echelon and second echelon defenders, but he aged 22, 1 year older.
So, we have many options, and in the last 2 friendly, we choose defenders base on their forms, something that never happen in Malaysia history before, and considering this is without 2 of Malaysia best defender talents, Roslan and Rosman (Winning 11), both are in BOT team now, due to the reason we all already know.
In short, our defenders are near to ideal, where we have 4 defenders aged 21 years old and below Mazlan, Sri Jaafar, Harizul and Abu Khufur, and whilst waiting for the 19 years old batch which are Rusdi Nawawi and Shahril to come into selection, we can continue using the older batch and second echelon batch mentioned earlier. Ideally, if we don't lose Roslan and Rahim, but this is sokker.
We must thanks Cryptic Hunter for being defender trainers for more than 4 season. In one of the match play recently, we field out Nazri, Firdaus, Mazlan and Ali Wahab, all former and current Cryptic Hunter players. And therei is another NT defender Senin, which are former Cryptic Hunter player too.
I have give my opinion to this team frequently, the hope is the team can continue supplying defenders trainees for Malaysia. And Ahamat, aged 19 is next. Actually, after last season election, I have identified 3 teams to train defenders, Cryptic Hunters, BOT Team and Winning11. With this 3 teams, our defender department will be very very strong, however, we only left 1 team now. It is really a big blow to NT where we losst BOT Team and Winning11, as both have great coach setups, magical coaches with a few national prospects, being the more excel one is Roslan and Rosman.
Wingers are also problematic last season, but we can play in different formation where using all centre midfielders, just rely on their passing to score. In previous election speech, I do highlight that we lack option in midfielders, where we can only play in one variation.
And also, the target previously is to reach Top 50 level, so wingers is not too high priority compare to defenders. However, personally I think Malaysia already reach Top 50 level, even though world ranking doesn't tell you so, but we have beaten a few 50+ ranking team already.
The new target is 30 to 50, and to achieve this we need
HIGH TECHNIQUE MIDFIELDERS, THAT IS PACEFUL AND GREAT IN PLAYMAKING SKILLS AND PASSING SKILLS.

We have another super talent in winger.
Asri Faisal, Age 19
Pace Incredible
Technique Weak
Passing Excellent
Defender Hopeless
Playmaker Excellent
If some of the big team can buy him and continuous training technique, he will be the NT winger at his age of 21.
And this guy is listed out in the advertisement last weak, the owner want to sell him, as he is training pace. The owner might still want to sell him now.
Any volunteer, to find the serious trainers/buyers and talk to the owner to sell him? But ensure, the trainers is serious technique trainers
