i was 2nd for cup and league last season, it looks like i am seeded 1st for this season. How does this work out?

Thanks for highlighting something that I do not aware of.

I am almost certainly sure, the cup seedings atarting from this season is no longer base on last year league position, but will base on club ranking.

This is tru where Burned Processor, who took over Winning 11 place are seeded very high, top 8, and Winning 11 is top 8 when the season end in terms of ranking points.

As of the beginning of next season, the national cup will be based on ranking points and will not be based on league position, as is currently the case. This will be used to determine whether a team qualifies for the cup and determining the fixtures for the cup. This increases the importance of friendly matches, especially for bottom league teams, as the loss of ranking points may decide whether a team qualifies or not. The national ranking page of a country shows the teams that will qualify for the cup the following season, by highlighting those not qualified with a grey background.

So you are correct in that it's based on ranking points at the end of last season decide the cup seedings for the next season.
