Nederland - Hong Kong

This friday, the U-21 squad of Hong Kong will play its first official friendly game.

What can we expect from this game?

I will try to put the right players on the right spots. I don't have enough players for each line, some lines we have more than enough players.

Mainly I want to see what this squad can do on a defensive base, and how they react on getting rid of the ball.

Don't expect from this squad in this game, that we can score against Nederland. It will be a hell of a job to get near the goal of Nederland.
But that's not what my main goal is in this game.

The result of this match will be of less importance for me at this stage. In the next upcoming friendly's we face more equal teams on which we can go for results.

Here is the line up for friday's game.

1._ Chui Chun Ngai
2._ Wong Yiu Hung
3._ Tai Chor Fung
4._ Maruyama Yee Wah
5._ Jiang Alex
6._ Gong Ming Leong
7._ Xiao Chi Ho
8._ Tsang Hei Man
9._ Poon Tsz Kin
10. Hung Siu Tung
11. Xiao Chi Ho

12. Tseng Ka Yik
13. Chi Kai Yin
14. Han Guoji
15. Tong Wing Sun
16. Hung Ka Ki

Anyway, I am still looking for new Hong Kong players to complete this squad at U-21 standards. So if you know a player (former youthplayer or now playing for your team), please let me know in sk mail, or post it in this forum.

And, we're away! Let's hope they don't make too many goals..

I think we played well today. the first 30 minutes we survived, and got a very big chance to score the first goal.
We managed to score against Nederland! Very good play by Tsz Kin. But also Chi Ho and Hei Man and Siu Tung made some good movements and passes to Tsz Kin.

I hope they will be trained very well so we can make a bigger difference on the midfield.

In the defense area , I put 2 players ( Yee Wah and Chor Fung) very close to the goal. They have too little stamina, so i could not put them further in the field. I expected more pressure in the first 45 minutes of the match, but that did not happen.

Man of the match, of course Chun Ngai, what a very good keeper. This goalie kept so many shots out of the goal.. I could not believe it. His skills are not that very good, but he made me smile pretty much in this game.

No substitions, the reason why I did not substitute is that we have no other players with more than hopeless stamina on the bench. Only Ka Ki, but he cannot play anywhere else than in Striker postion.

In the next matches i try to put the two strikers in front and see what happens ;-)

One thing I did not understand. The penalty was assigned to Tsz Kin,but he did not shoot :-s It would be the second goal, I am certain of that.

Anyway, thats my comment on the match. Feel free to comment on that.

I was a little bit sad because Ka Ki did not play :( But I think he didn't because of his bad form?
2009-01-24 11:03:26
no it was not because of his form, my order did not work. I put him on a 55 minute to play for substitute but that did not happen :-s

Anyway, as i said in my post, I will put the best two strikers of Hong Kong U21 in the next matches together.

What was the precise order?

And about that penalty - maybe you accidently switched the penalty taker and free kick taker with each other?

No i did not switch those orders.

I have had put all orders and tactics on tuesday. I checked 20 minutes before the match and all orders and free kick and penalty kick takers disappeared.

So 20 minutes before the match I filled the orders for the match again.

I checked it just before the match started, and they were filled like I had in mind.

But in the match nothing happened.

Further , there was one player with a red card. I did not had him selected for the match, because of that. But now he still has his red card....

the precise order was :
always 55'minute Ka Ki for You Tsz Kin
2009-01-24 14:01:32
ugly tactic:(
2009-01-24 14:10:22
Yes, but against an opponent like Nederland, beauty isn't really an option :.
