Subject: Type of striker Hong Kong need the most

It is unlikely that Hong Kong has a triple or even double divine striker any time soon. I am training strikers for Hong Kong and I want to know your opinion on which type of striker we need the most so that I can plan the best training for them.
For example, assuming total skills points are the same, would you prefer:
1. divine pace/technique/striker, the other two skills brilliant/magical
2. unearthly on two skills, the other brilliant/magical
3. all round magical-unearthly
4. they make no difference

Divine pace and the 2 other magical perhaps?
I agree with pirates that the most effective way to create chances is to be quick.
One thing to note is that most of our mids were trained as wingers,
but are they strong enough to create chances for the strikers? or the strikers need to find their own way? I lack info to make a fair judgement. =]

I used to think pace was the most important as my strikers constantly 'outran' the defender and created 3-1 situations, but I find the man-marking system introduced not long ago has diminished the importance of pace as defenders are closer to the strikers which means strikers often have to skip challenges in order to run freely on goal, and the chance of successful dribble also somewhat increased which seems to make technique training more appealing. That leads to my question.
Striker training is hard because at most 6 players with ATT order receive full training and 10 with MID order receive half training, but midfielders don't really need striker training so it is like 4 less players getting trained.
We will surely lose the midfield battle against stronger teams, so supply to the strikers would be rather limited, which leads to my question again. What about having a divine strikers that can convert the limited chances we have? I never have divine/unearthly strikers and I don't really know how big the differences are between magical and divine striker, but as far as I know, my magical strikers sometimes perform poorly against very weak keepers, You Siu Yuen this season is a good example.

that's a rather difficult judgement =P
but i agree that it's now easier to dribble past an Opp.
in fact, tech is not unrelated to pace, as we know, higher tech gives the player more speed when dribbling too. considering that training of striker is harsh, we could go for sth like
unearthly pace + tech and magical striker (upgrade to unearthly only if the first 2 skills pop early)
what do you say?

I have another opinion. As HK coach experience, I've realized that a striker needs, first of all, a very good technique skill level. The strong skill level of pace doesn't make a big difference (as you know, most of NT's have defenders 2x divine or 2x superdivine). Our option is to be more technical in order to create goal opportunities and make problems to opponent's defenders.
For a divine defender doesn't matter if opponent striker is divine pace. if the striker has divine technique, here is a problem for the def to block him.
also, strong skill level for striker helps him for precisely shots.
chi hing yu had 16 14 14, hung ming leong 17 14 13, yo siu yuen 14 15 14, goldbert pengfei 13 15 13, lau kam yuen 14 15 14 or zhang wing lun 14 14 14 (when I was the coach).
most of good results was made when i've selected 2 of the last 4 strikers. Also, it is important for strikers to have a good skill form and tactical discipline.
figure concept is right! strikers with strong pace could create good goal opportunities, but is very difficult to score if they don't have strong technique and striker.

@abcde mate, what kind of coaches do you have ? I have 4 magical coaches and I'm training strikers!
I have 2 magical and 2 brilliant coach.
I think figure_concept is referring to situation of U21 which is not comparable to NT.
So concerning pace and technique maybe the best idea is to give them equal importance in training.
For striker, it's logical to think in your way Arsene-wenger but my personal experience is so bad that I often doubt how useful it is to raise a player striker compared to the other two skills. For example You Siu Yuen, who has reached 15 striker long ago and has the highest striker skill of all strikers in my team and maybe in NT, is really really bad in converting shots into goals in any matches (league/NT) against every keeper (strong or weak). Also I have given a lot of striker training to players and this season they mostly have 1 or 2 levels of strikers higher than that of last season but it turns out their shots conversion rate have notably decreased this season. All these lead me to think that luck is an very important factor when it comes to shot conversion. Okay there's a big difference between 17 and 9 striker. But is the difference between 17 and 14/15 strikers so big that it worths the training prior to the other two skills? I doubt that.
