It would be very nice if we could reach 1600 points, this way the new countries would be positioned behind us.

I'm not sure, it's possible that it's not needed to reach the 42nd place to be in the 3rd bracket for the draw.

There's 91 countries atm, but only 84 NTs. Cuba, Iran and possibly Luxemburg will get one for next season which gives 87 teams competing in the qualies and if greg keeps the current system (maximum 6 teams in one group) then there should be 15 groups. This means the 45th place is enough to be in the 3rd bracket. However, if we don't reach 1600 ranking points, we will drop 3 places in the rankig since the new countries will join with exactly 1600 points.

So either the 42nd place or 1600 rank points looks fine. But getting the rank points is the easier way, currently Island occupies the 42nd position with 1590 points and I'm quite sure they will exceed 1600 points by the end of the season.
