Subject: Tutor
It is a pity that so many users leave the game. Perhaps they don't like it, or expect something different.
Perhaps it would be good to make some thing like a tutorial, covering most parts of the game, so those new users would find things easier to learn. I have seen there is some webs with info, but no one "inside" Sokker. An special forum, which covered all the aspects of the game (i.e. economics, desglosed in finances, salaries, stadium expansion issues, how to balance, etc), via a set of *closed* threads (so the help of mods or/and admins would be needed) with links amongst them which any user could navigate across.
There are lots, lots of things which the rules cover incompletely, or not at all, and it would be good that all information would be available. Also, I think that would avoid lots of "newbie threads" again and again about the same, and it would give the game a friendlier look.
Perhaps thic could be carried on by teams of voluntary users, to make that "official" extended FAQ or how-to, so they could discuss the definitive redaction so it would be clear, good and complete, for instance in English, and then every community could make translation to their own languages.
Also, it could be a good oportunity to inquiry some questions to the creators, to put on clear many suppositions, guesses and rumours about parts of the game that nobody seem to know exactly or which are subject to discussion (for instance, an issue I discussed recently with my bf : a MID who replaces a DEF plays as MID or as DEF? Does he count as a DEF or MID for training? Does he count towards the maximum number of players per position, so the training could be lost? Perhaps there is a "good" answer already known, but I think it is not available anywhere, other than in the knowledge of the developers or the users they had shared that info with).
A lot of work it would be, but always a mini-guide to start would be better than nothing. Perhaps we could make something like for our new users, and see it it could serve as an starting point to attract them towards the forums. Once a new user had lost the fear to the forum, I think he could be more likely to use it to ask questions that we could answer to help him/her, and so participate more.
Well, it's only an idea. I am going on holydays some days, so probably I can't see the forums until next week, so I will see then if you like it.
Have a Happy New Year ;)
