I am glad that we avoided cards and injuries, and our young players had additional training.

The favorite of the match was the USA, but we know how to beat the favorites :) The match was balanced, we had the same number of shots on goal. However, our attackers were more effective. Jón Ingi Hilmarsson scored twice, Rafn Daðason and Jón Bjarni Pálmason each scored one goal. Hrafnkell Þórvaldsson could not play in the match, having received a red card in the previous match. He was replaced from the first minutes by Jóhann Gunnar Adólfsson. Each of our players played a very good match. For eight players, it was a farewell match with the U21 team, because on Friday there will be a change in the age of the players.

We repeated the greatest achievement in the history of Ísland U21. This is our common success. The best scorer of the whole group was our striker Rafn Daðason, who scored 17 goals. Jón Ingi Hilmarsson scored 11 goals and Jón Bjarni Pálmason scored 10 goals. It is worth noting that Jón Bjarni Pálmason is only 19 years old and came on the pitch from the bench in the end of matches.

It was my farewell match as the Ísland U21 coach. I'm glad we won and scored as many as 7 goals. The most effective was J. Pálmason, who scored 4 goals. E.Helgason scored two goals and A.Marksson one (his first international goal). Our goalkeeper didn't have to work in this match.
It was our best season. In 13 matches we won 7, drew 3 and lost 3. The goal balance is 46:16. We end the season with 1605.25 points in the ranking (52.place). Six seasons ago I started with 878.42 points (74.place). Thank you all, good luck to the new head coach of the Ísland U21 national team.
