We will play Misr U20 away in the second round of the U20 Mini World Cup. Our opponent in the 1st round defeated Belarus U20 10:0 ! Their strikers are very effective and play on high marks.
We have a hospital on the team. In the last game, injuries were suffered by Hjörvar Valtýrsson and Martin Svavarsson. In addition to them, Hermann Jóelsson, Hallfríður Vilbergsson and Gústaf Jóason are also injured.
Our best midfielder U20 Davíð Valdimarsson got a red card in the last match, and he won't play against Misr.

We are in the U20 Mini World Cup quarterfinals !!!
Today we beat Misr U20 on penalties 1:1 (p.3:1). A great match was played by debutants: Brjánn Þrastarsson (saved two penalties), Þórlakur Kristinsson (a good match as a winger and penalty goal) and Steinar Brynjason (penalty goal). The match started fantastically for us. We scored in the 3rd minute after a great shot our best forward Árni Þór Orlygsson. Unfortunately, Misr scored a goal in the 61st minute of the match. After 90 minutes and extra time there was a 1:1 draw. In the 107th minute, our best forward Árni Þór Orlygsson was injured and will be back in 23 days. Our goalkeeper Brjánn Þrastarsson was the hero of the penalty shots.
We are in the quarterfinal of the U20 Mini World Cup, it is a historic success of our team. I am very happy :)

Thanks! In the 3rd round of the U20 Mini World Cup, we drew a wildcard. The quarter-finals will be drawn on Friday evening. This Friday we will play a friendly match against Guatemala U21. Our TOP 21-year-olds such as Arnar Freyr Edvínsson, Hólmgeir Nonnason, Arnar Freyr Sighvatsson and Andri Snær Þorfinnsson will return to the game. Our opponent Guatemala U21 is ranked 78th in the World Ranking, we are in the 70th place. I expect a very exciting and interesting match..

Yesterday we lost in the Mini World Cup quarterfinals against Serbia 0:4. We played new defensive tactics, but our opponent had a very strong offensive. We played without the best midfielder Davíð Valdimarsson and the best forward Árni Þór Orlygsson. They are both injured. In addition, our forward Hallfríður Vilbergsson suffered an injury in the 12th minute of the match. Despite the personnel weaknesses, our team fought bravely against the higher-ranked rival. In the 70th minute of the match we were losing only 0:1. The last 20 minutes were dominated by the opponent who deservedly won. We are finishing a fantastic adventure in the Mini World Cup U20. We have achieved a historic success, because in the previous 9 editions we never even advanced to the 2nd round. Next week we will play against a strong opponent - Slovenia U20.

We lost in a friendly match U20 against the higher ranked Slovenia 2:6. Our opponent was very effective - 9 shots and 6 goals! Our best forward Árni Þór Orlygsson returned to the game after injury, scoring two goals for us. Fortunately, our players heal injuries. Currently, there are two injured players in our team. Next Friday we had an arranged friendly match against Italy U19, but they were promoted to the semi-finals of the World Cup U21 and we changed our opponent to Iran.

Yesterday we won vs Iran U21 2:0. We were a much better team than our opponent, we had an advantage throughout the match. Our defenders, who allowed the opponent to one shot, played great. Árni Þór Orlygsson confirmed that he is our best striker, scoring two goals for us. If the Iran goalkeeper had not defended so well, the match result would have been much higher. I am happy with the lack of injuries and cards.

We lost 1:2 to Latvia. We kept a draw until the break. At the beginning of the second half, we scored after an Orlygsson shot. Later, unfortunately, we lost two goals. Our opponent was the favorite of the match, was better, had higher marks. Even so, we were close to a draw. This week, 16-year-old forward Jón Ingi Hilmarsson joined the NT U21, having been sold from Stjarnan F.C for over 4.5 million euros. The 17-year-old forward Dagbjartur Dórason, whom I bought for less than 1 million euros from Noteboom, also looks promising.

It's a shame Hallfríður Vilbergsson's low form, he has just come out of a terrible injury.

Hopefully Hallfríður Vilbergsson will improve his form and avoid injuries. Next season there will be QWC. Vilbergsson and Orlygsson will be a key players in the attack.

In the first match of the African Cup, we drew 0-0 against Kenya. Already in the 28th minute of the match our best midfielder, Arnar Freyr Edvínsson, was red carded. We played 10v11 for over 60 minutes but kept the draw. On Friday we will play against al-Jazā’ir, which defeated Ghana 6-0 in the first match. We will play without Arnar Freyr Edvínsson.
