In 2008 we saw an update in plus prices, and since then, despite inflation, prices have remained at the low price for nearly 3 years. However, since that time, Sokker has improved further and the value of money has inflated.

The new prices will be:

99 PLN for 1 year (old price 89 PLN)
55 PLN for 6 months (old price 49 PLN)
35 PLN for 3 months (old price 29 PLN)
27 PLN for 2 months (old price 22 PLN)

As a consolation, we are introducing a new feature. We are introducing player and transfer reminders, both as Sokker reminders for plus users and via e-mail, so it will be possible to configure on phones that can receive e-mails. It is planned to introduce SMS reminders too.

Also, a new plus subscription option will be available. For users who have never bought plus before, 1 month plus period will cost 10 PLN (15 PLN for users that have bought plus before). Finally, the fee that was added when using PayPal (2 PLN), has been abolished.

The price increase will come into effect on Friday, 1st July.
Before this date you can still buy Plus at the current price.

Yesterday, we suffered a server breakdown, as the database server stopped responding and had to be restarted. After the restart it appeared that some tables were broken and had to be repaired (eg. the match stats table). Also, all the transfer deadlines were set wrong, so we had to remove all players from the transfer list.

In the meantime, it was 2 minutes until we noticed the wrong deadlines, and some users had bought players at an extremely unfair price. As that is not fair behavior and is against Sokker rules, some of the players bought in that period - if the price was significantly under market price, may be sent back to their previous team. Funds spent on the unfair transfer won't be returned to users that took advantage of this server problem. Admins are currently debating on how to deal with these cases.

Now the server is working again, transfer setting fees have been returned to all that had put their players on the transfer list. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused.

You may have recently experienced some problems buying plus as credit card payments, where the payments were processed by DotPay, failed from the 30th of April onwards. Your credit card will have not been debited, and also your plus will not have been accepted as the transaction failed.

DotPay - who processed card payments for plus and t-shirts - have officially confirmed that they are resigning from directly processing credit cards. However, DotPay still processes credit card payments via channels like Moneybookers or other types of payments, like polish bank transfers.

Currently you can buy plus with credit cards using these options:
- PayPal, that also processes credit cards payments without registration or with PayPal account, currently with no additional fees.
- DotPay, using MoneyBookers credit cards payments channel (last option on the list), enabling you to buy plus using 26 types of cards.

We have started working on more direct credit card payments and we are searching for other purchasing solutions. We will inform you when these will be implemented.

We apologize for any inconvenience that this unforeseen event has caused to anyone.

We have implemented Facebook connection login with Sokker. Now, users registered on facebook, will be able to easily register to Sokker by a Facebook account. The reason for this is that some data will be retrieved from facebook, so there will be no need to fill up all fields - just type team name, and play. On your user page, you are now able to link your Sokker account with Facebook and thus automatically logging into Sokker if you are logged on Facebook, or use `I like it` features (currently on player, matches and club only). We hope that it would make Sokker more popular among Facebook users. Also, in the near future, Sokker will be added to facebook applications (we have prepared special skin for facebook applications window).

Players and trainers faces

You are able to see pictures of your players now, it is available for plus users and for newly registered users who will see it for a few days after registration. It is feature for fun, but they are not synchronised with the match engine. We first got questions about why the faces were so cartoon-like and not realistic pictures. The reason for this is that we tried realistic images but it looked dull and rather ugly on small pictures. So, we decided on cartoon images as we were able to create more creative images that vary more. The first elements for making the faces was done using a graphics editor but the final version which includes many more additional elements were drawn by our own Sokker admin, SİLENT CONTROL and his girlfriend who are graphical students. We hope many users like this new update but for those that do not like it, there is an added option in your user settings to configure faces or to turn it off.

Transfers list filtering

Plus users are now able to use Assistant percent or weighted values for GK, DEF, MID, ATT formations to filter transferlist search result. It will help users that check skill sums or has own skill weights when searching for bargains on the transfer market.

Miscellaneous

As usual with the updates, there has been various bug fixing (eg. related with friendlies ads viewing) and other minor fixes as well. Another update includes an important tool for admins to supervise national trainer polls when there are banned users.

Although we've had more new users staying than before with the policy of accepting new users in the league above the bottom league. This has been problematic for older countries with a small number of users. Therefore the method has been improved. Now users will only be accepted in the league above the bottom one if the total number of users in the Country is lower than the amount of teams in all leagues except the bottom league. For example, for a country with three divisions this means that if the total number of users exceeds 40, new users will be accepted in the bottom league. For a country with four divisions, this number would be 168.

Please note the new user acceptance method will be implemented for all countries.

As of 4th March we are testing a new match engine. The major modifications are players sliding for a ball and launching the ball ahead to oneself.

Launch and run

When a player sees there is space to run into he may launch a ball ahead of him, to run more quickly compared to dribbling with the ball at his feet. How precisely he launches the ball depends on technique and experience.

Slides

Player may now slide for a ball moving out of his reach. His reach with sliding depends on his defending skill, and the actual effect of the slide is dependent on his defending and experience.

Junior Age

Along with match engine changes, we have decided to allow every junior that is 19 or younger to play in junior matches even if they are ready to promote, but any older players can only play if they are still trainable (i.e - weeks left in school is greater than 0.) This is because many 20 year old players exit the junior school early in the season, so managers could still use them for at least a season before they aren't allowed to play anymore, thus increasing the number of unbalanced junior matches.

Other modifications

There was a lot of parameter tuning, related with passing, running, receiving the ball and other actions.

This is still a test version of the engine, once the season starts there may be some features changed. We also plan to fix a few reported bugs (penalties, substitutions, etc.) but this will be coded in the middle of the season as it is not a modification that may influence many matches.

It is election time again! You will have the opportunity to stand for election as the national team coach (either Senior or U21) of any nation, and vote a Senior and U21 manager for your own nation.

To access the election page, go to the respective country homepage, then click on National Team, and then Elections.

If you stand for election, it is recommended that you open ONE thread in the appropriate country forum after the elections start. Please prefix your thread with [NT] or [U21] , e.g. [NT] forestman or [U21] guacamole. Please do NOT spam forums, SK-mail people directly for votes, or spam users Guest Books. Any of these spammy activities will result in forum banning and/or financial fine.

Please remember that a user who has been elected as an NT manager will not be able to resign from their job. Therefore when you stand for the NT job, it is not only for fun, it is also your responsibility to serve the full term which the people that voted you into the job thought you should serve.

Elections will start on the 28h of February and end on the 13th of March at at 22:13, so start preparing your speeches, asking candidates tough questions & voting!

Yesterday there was a server breakdown. The main database server had turned off and caused the corruption of system and database files. We had executed files fixing and managed to get Sokker online, but after a few minutes the database tables started to lock withan unkown reason. Moving the database to other disk drives and a few other methods of repairing tables didn't work resulting in every time we tried to put Sokker online it locked and overloaded with the same result. Finally, after yet another repair, and some sleep for us :), the system seems to be working correctly. If you notice any breakdown related bugs please inform us on Bugs / Ideas (en) forum.

Transfers are moved till 14:00. Plus accounts will be extended by 2 days.

Santa comes to Sokker with some news to all users. He brings new features and a special gift for those who are not plus yet. This 25th December ALL users will enjoy a trial plus. Santa will says `ho ho ho!!` on that day ;) and that will happen every year.

Trial plus

We are introducing trial plus for newly registered users who shall receive 10 days of trial plus which shall have limited options on that period.
Trial plus users will not be able
- to create associations or friendly leagues.
- to add articles or guestbook entries.

Trial plus will also be active for all users on 25th December every year.


Competition team statistics

On each team page there is now additional menu Statistics. There are now team specific statistics such as:
- value, average age of players etc.
- common matches with your team
- common transfers with your team
- all native players of that team. (You will be able to track where you junior school stars currently play.)
- highest win, defeat, supporters attendance and more.

Match tips statistics

On the country and world page you will now see Tipsters menu item. There you can view current and previous weeks most predicted matches, which users done the most predictions and also comments. You will also see stats of which users predicted the most accurately on previous matches.

Friendly ads searchable by each country

On friendly ads list you are now able to select country and view ads from there. That little feature will especially help users from little countries where there are not many friendly invitations. This will also help all you wanted who chase country flags.

Other modifications

Various bugs fixed; pop-up for user pictures to view in full size; some mods and admin tools extensions; etc.
