Starting this Wednesday (27th December 2006) some conditional order problems will be fixed, which will be:
- it will be possible to put an outfielder in goal (however, only if the GK position is currently empty or the goalkeeper is going off the field)
- for the conditional orders listed below, the minute will mean minute to start checking condition, not minute when condition is checked (if you set a condition in the first minute, it could happen in the 89th minute for instance as the event will be checked all game, rather than just in the 1st minute as it would have been before):
* player has yellow card
* red card or no player
* player is slightly injured

We have made accessible a new method of fetching data from the Sokker server based on XML. This will mainly interest developers of Sokker-related software.
Here you will find more information: http://online.sokker.org/xmlinfo.php
In addition, as we have now provided enhanced data in XML, this is the approved method for obtaining information from Sokker. Therefore, scanning pages in fashion other than this XML is not allowed and may result in a ban. If you need information that is not present in the xml files contact the creators at sokker@sokker.org or by writing in this topic: forum_topic.php?ID_forum=1259&ID_topic=479307&pg=0#new

It is election time again! You have the opportunity to stand for election as the national team coach of any nation, and vote for your preferred manager of your own nation!
To access the election page, go to the respective country homepage, then click on National Team, and then Elections.
If you stand for election, it is recommended that you open a maximum of one thread in the forums, prefixed with [NT] , e.g. [NT] forestman. Please do NOT spam forums, SK-mail people directly for votes, or spam users Guest Books. Any of these spammy activities will result in forum banning and/or financial fine.
Please remember that a user who has been elected as NT manager will not be able to resign from their job. Therefore when you stand for the NT job, it is not only for fun, it is also your responsibility to serve the full term which the people that voted you into the job thought you should serve.
New countries (Andorra, Costa Rica, Hayastan, Honduras, Indonesia, Makedonija, Malta, Moldova, Shqipëria etc.) will have their national teams created & elections start this evening.
The election deadline is 26th November so get preparing your speeches, asking candidates tough questions & voting!

In the upcoming season new skill "tactical discipline" will be introduced. This new skill reflects how accurately the player will follow the tactic during the match.
Tactical Discipline is depends on two subskills:
Experience:
- More matches played, more experience
- Activity during each match
- Type of match (friendly, official, national team)
- Players at lower levels of experience increase the skill faster than players with higher levels
Experience has been calculated for all players and all matches ever played and is visible in your players' information.
Team-work:
- Represents how well a coach can teach tactics and how much the player has learned with that club
- Changes during training each week like other skills, independent of the training type selected. The growth depends primarily on head coach's general appraisal. This means that it could even drop if you change to a coach with lower general appraisal.
- Depends on time played in week matches like any other skills
- Assistants help to increase team-work, but their influence is lower than on other skills
- Older players' team-work increases and decreases in slower (they are more "change resistant")
- After every transfer, team-work of the transferred player drops down to the lowest value
Team-work has been set to the lowest possible value for every player (but don't worry - it's trained very fast). Within a few weeks it should equalize near your head coach's general appraisal.
All official matches during current season (qualification games) will be played with previous version of match generator so tactical discipline is not used.
Dribbling Keeper
Additionally, we have changed skill related with dribbling past a goalkeeper. Now success for this will depend on the player's scoring and keeper's goalkeeping skills only.

New modifications in match generator will be tested in friendly games.
List of key modifications (these are all subject to change and under discussion):
- If there is no one to play the ball to, a player may pass the ball effectively to themselves by heading it a bit ahead of themselves.
- Fixed a bug with headers - players will now head the ball more often.
- Chesting the ball - Players will now take the ball down on their chest and immediately start playng.
- Improved player decision system relating to when to pass or not.
- Upgraded player shooting decisions (they will be less likely to shoot from sharp angles, but will now shoot from longer distances if possible).
- It will now be possible to dribble past the goalkeeper (success depends on player scoring and playmaking and oponents' keeper skill)
- More clever shots when one on one with the keeper (for example, placing the ball using less power).
- Fixed freekick wall.
- A new skill "positioning" will be introduced from next season. For testing all matches will be played with the lowest value of positioning for all players. More information about this skill will be provided later.

We are pleased to announce that on Sunday 8th October the new server for the sokker database was successfully installed.
The new server provides higher data security, and has more room for future expansions, such as adding more cpus, drives and memory.
The server is more powerful than before, and its successful installation is the reason that there were no match delays this weekend. However, some further configuration will be necessary over the coming few weeks to ensure that the server is working optimally.
We believe that the new server will substantially enhance the playing experience on sokker and we appreciate your patience over the recent weeks.
