Automatic Promotion

From next season, it will be possible to auto promote from your league. The best 25% of league winners will be able to promote without having to play a qualifier match, which also means teams in 8th will be automatically relegated.

The remainder of the league winners, and the teams that finish 5-7th will play qualification games as before, with ranking based upon points gained in the league.

Match Engine Changes 2

The following modifications to match engine, in relation to the last changes made are as follows:

- The probability of an injury is decreased (compared to the last match engine).
- There are possible injuries in other situations than being fouled - injuries are possible while passing, as well as to the player that commits a foul.
- Running passes are now related to the playmaking skill (players with higher playmaking will make more running passes).
- Pass power is regulated (when the pass is not a running pass it won't be as powerful).
- Passing accuracy on short distances has been increased, while long distances has been decreased.
- Feints with ball are a bit more regulated (players will use feints more sensibly).
- The bugs where two players have tried to dribble the ball at the same time has been fixed.

The changes will also apply to the National Team friendlies with immediate effect.

Match Engine Changes

From today, a new version of the match engine will be used for friendly matches. The main changes will be:

- Players to make use of running passes
- Feints with ball (the player can run a different direction, not necessarily straight towards the goal)
- Curving ball (such as curving free kicks)

It is likely that many other corrections will be made to the match engine, but don't worry; official matches will not use the new version of the match engine until the start of next season at the earliest.

Server problems

We would like to apologise for the strange problems we are having with one of our servers. We are still trying to find out what the problem is and that may take a couple of days.

Until that time Sokker may not work properly and there may be problems with connecting to the site. Once again, we apologise and please be patient.

Send us your skins

  • 2006-03-09

If you have made a sokker skin, it is now possible for you to send them to us, to become part of the standard skins available in sokker (test.css is the only one there for now).

Skins should be sent to sokker@sokker.org , in the .rar format and include all of the files that the skin needs. Only skins with the sign "Sokker" or "Sokker Manager" will be approved to become a standard skin.

Server Upgrade

  • 2006-02-24

Today (Friday) sokker will be temporarily closed, starting from 20:00. We will be installing a faster processor on the web server and converting sokker to UTF-8 encoding (so there will be no problems with alphabets like Chinese, Arabic, Hebrew etc.). The break may take a couple hours.

Transfers from 20:00 till 8:00 Saturday morning will be moved.

Today (10th Feburary) it is Sokker`s 2nd birthday. We are very happy about this, and the way in which Sokker is growing and becoming better and better by the day. Of course we would like to thank all of the Sokker users for being a part of this, as it would not be possible without you.

Coach contract list

  • mr_gibbage [del]
  • 2006-02-05

From Monday (6 February) a coach contract list will be available. Coaches sacked from any club (if they were previously employed), if they wish to continue their coaching career, will go on the trainer contract list. If you wish to have one of them at your club, then you can place a bid on them. The money goes directly to the coach, his previous club will not receive any of the money.

If the auction does not finish in one week (auction winner does not finalise the contract), the auction is annulled and the winning club pays 10% of the placed offer.
