Since yesterday morning we are running on a new, faster database server. It`s possible that you won`t see the difference now, as we are still limited by the old server. We should manage to replace it in the next few days.

We have initiated changes in the way in which supporters will be come to their fan clubs - now the amount of them will partially depend on the division or the prestige of the league. This will be counted on the basis of, for example, the fan clubs of other teams in your league. The new system will take effect from Monday – at this time there won’t be much difference – you can expect that there will be about 1-2 more/less supporters in extreme situations (highest-lowest league) than what would come normally. The influence of the league and division prestige will be increased from the beginning of the next season.


The purpose of this change is to increase the profitability of promoting to a higher division or staying in the same one. This is to try and stop people intentionally staying in lower divisions or throwing qualifiers to get relegated. It will also make the fan club system more realistic.

We apologise for the downtime that occured on Saturday October 1st. This was due to an unexpected major failure in one of our servers. Therefore Sokker is currently running on the old server only.

We are working to resize our servers in the future, but this may take a few weeks. Until this time, Sokker will be running just on the old server. This may make it difficult to watch the Sunday games.

Here are current major regulations regarding national teams. They may change within this test season.

Appointing players

- Currently national coach can appoint as many players as he wants.
- He can also release any player at any time with no consequences (these two rules probably will change in the future).
- Skills of the players are not visible for the national coach, even after player is appoited to national team. Coach must rely on informations obtained from owner.
- National coach can appoint any player with proper nationality, he doesn`t need to ask for owner permission.
- Owner of national player who is played for national team will have following profits:
+ prestige - a little more fans will come on his club matches,
+ better medical care of injured national player.

Matches

- Matches are to be played on the same conditions as club matches.
- In the first season matches will be played at saturdays around 12 a.m. (Sokker time)
- This season only friendly matches are provided. Team fight only for rank points, which will be important in the future.

Stadium

Temporary teams will play their matches on their own stadiums. In the future we will consider the option of playing matches on clubs` arenas.

Other info

- If national coach quits the game - new ellection is called.
- Everyone can watch national matches (not only Plus holders).
- National coach soon will be able to change national team`s emblem and post anouncements on the first page. This is the best place for announcing what players are needed. Please don`t flood forums:).
- Soon closed forum for national coaches will be created.

We are observing some hardware problems at the moment. Unfortunately we lost some topics published during the day.

At the moment we are testing the performance and improve the stability of the system. You still might face some minor problems.

Tomorrow morning elections for national coaches will begin. They will last for two weeks.
On your country's page you'll find a link to national team and there info about current election.
Go to the election page, where you can apply, vote for candidate, check the current turnout and after the deadline - know detailed result.

Rules regarding election:

Appling candidature:
- you can apply for election in any country, regardless of your experience in the game.
- you can apply only to one active election,
- you have to apply by yourself,
- if you resign, you will be removed from the candidate list and also all obtained votes will be removed. If you apply again - previous votes are not restored.

Voting:
- you can vote for national coach for your country,
- you have only one vote.
- you can change or withdraw your vote until the election`s deadline.

In the first season of national teams, only friendly games are to be played. No official tournament is expected.
The other rules regarding national teams will be announced soon.

Tenure of elected coaches will expire after one season.

A new feature is available for holders of Plus – Assistant. This allows you to manage and analyse your team quickly and easily.

Assistant can be found in the ‘training’ section at the top of the screen next to the link “tactics”.

Assistant allows you to sort your players according to their best positions, skills, and ability in each position. The ability of your players in various positions (GK, DEF, MID and ATT) is provided via percentage values. These are based on the configuration set by yourself. You must provide a skills ratio for each position (e.g. MID = 10% Pace, 20% Playmaking etc.)

There are two methods of calculation. The first uses the same method as found in many assistant manager programs. The second can be activated by selecting “correction”. This uses a slightly different calculation to ensure that the best position is chosen, avoiding potential incorrect assignment of multiple-skilled players.

From now on, teams that are about to declare bankruptcy (account balance less than -€500k) will be able to log on for 24 hours from the last log in.

This is to allow them to correct their bank balance - sell players, sack coaches etc. After 24 hours they cannot log in again, until the account balance improves sufficiently (account balance more than -€500k).

There will also be information on teams that are about to declare bankruptcy visible for others players (currently only in English)

Over the past few months Sokker has undergone rapid growth, with users more than doubling to over 8000. Sokker has also become much more international with 36 country leagues and 9 languages.

Today we had further server trouble. The new database is out of order.

At present Sokker is running on the old server, therefore it may be more difficult to watch league games.
