Elmstead celebrated back to back championship wins with an impressive 38 points over the season. Despite losing their star striker for the first 2 games and being forced to play 4-5-1, which resulted in 2 draws. From this point on Elmstead won every game and just missed out on auto promotion.
However, the manager was quoted in repeating his message from last season "we are so far away from teams in div II". To bridge the gap we would need a good youth policy and current improvements for the next 3 seasons in this division, before we are even ready to try and stay up in II.
Asked about the playoff game, the manager replied - does it matter? look at my comment above :)
