Last week Team Moose Power faced up against past Cup holders FCM Tigers. This is a formidable team which the players have a lot of respect for. That wasn`t going to stop us giving it everything to come away with a win.

Conceding an early goal despite controlling the tempo of the game quite well was a real blow. We then managed to rekindle some hope when an excellent goal from Smarzynski leveled the score soon after.

Losing Bucataru on the wing to a red card on the stroke of half-time was devastating as he was about to be subbed for the stronger Cyrulik... this left us vulnerable and you cannot afford to be a man down against such a quality side as the Tigers.

As the game went on, both sides had good chances and the game hung on a knife-edge. Both teams poised to snatch defeat in the face of glory. The home crowd went bananas when Smarzynski again found the Tigers` net with just 3 minutes remaining.

The game was won but for one final fling from FCM hero Tiatto. He ran down the wing testing the legs of the defenders. TMP`s defs kept him out wide to limit his options but just as Tiatto dribbled inside the box, Onstad went to ground and in a disasterous moment of deja vu, Tiatto took an almighty dive over Onstad earning FCM Tigers a penalty. The crowd fell silent.

TMP`s 2nd string keeper, in for the injured Zamora, could do nothing to stop Gibson`s spot-kick. TMP could not recover from the disappointment. They ran out of stamina and conceded a comfortable goal to Tiatto in extra time. As one last dagger through the heart, TMP`s star striker Toper missed a 1-on-1 with FCM`s goalie.

Sokker is a crual game, but it doesn`t get any more cruel than that.
The TMP staff and players were absolutely gutted, along with 20,000 fans. But as the dust settled, we were proud to have pushed FCM Tigers to the limit. They had played their trainee strikers and deserved to continue their assault on the Cup. We`ll be back next season even stronger.
