Subject: NEWS Sokker- big changes are coming!

2024-04-19 12:04:33
It’s hard to put numbers on it but with the league reform (increase of league games per week) everybody got more home games = more ticket revenue. This inevitable led to an influx of money into the system.

Sokker is not real life. Inflation is very good for new users as you can make money faster and a lot of costs are constant (coach wages, stadium costs etc.). You can progress to a stable level a lot faster than before.

All changes that were made lately are unfortunately bad for new users like yourself. Although the sooner you realise sokker is a game for masochists the better :)

Sokker inflation is like real life, it's always harder for poorer.

1) New users do not benefit as much from inflation in double ticket revenues.
2) Price inflation of young players obviously doesn't benefit to newcomers, you have to buy first to sell training players;

I don't know if I understand wrong or is it like that?
The expectation of the season depends on the liquid money you have?

I think it should be the sum of the liquid money plus the value of your equipment. How could a team with only 18-year-old players and 10 million in the account be better than an experienced team with 5 million in the account? The second should have higher expectations for the season.

It is good to try to mitigate inflation, to have it under control, however, what is the desire for each improvement to leave users dissatisfied?
The beauty of the game is that new users arrive and mainly those who already play remain... The greatest reward for those who invest more time in the game is to be able to buy at a good price and sell at a higher price to access better players. With its tax system, it eliminates this attraction and many users become demotivated. It is already impossible to compete and have 10 trainable players, they take away the benefits of trade... seriously, ask the community and let's find a sensible alternative.
Do you want to eliminate daytrading, have you ever wondered if users like this alternative?

I think the purpose is to stop users keeping their team artificially low. So if you've a terrible team but 20mil in the bank, the games says "This club has far too many resources to be slumming it in the lower leagues" and punishes accordingly. I don't think it's only money the formula looks at, but the overall value (players, money, stadium, fan club). If 90% of that value is sitting in your account though, it might seem like that's the only metric.
2024-04-19 17:22:08
They have stated other things like previous finishing position etc but yeah I think those with a significant amount of money will see more correlation with expectations even though there are other things at play. Money is just the dominant one.

Forcing any action by punishing them with high expectations and the related hidden taxes for the rich, at the level of 2-3kk euro per season,
won't force it
- junior traders with large amounts of cash,
- sold out teams that want to make money to rebuild,
- balanced teams with a solid budget

to spend the money they have accumulated, only idiots can think like that.

The effect will be the opposite in 95% of cases.

Even more teams will sell out and start training juniors to trade.
The rest of the rich teams will reduce costs, remove weak junior schools or add 1 junior to training and this will be the effect of their stupid actions.

I have so much money on bank account that fans would be always unhappy unless I was winning everything in the top division. But even then it is so expensive to stay at the top that it is financially not worth it. Despite all the increased income from sponsors and tickets I was always losing money because of the old players losing value and I could not train juniors at the same time. So why even bother?

You're right, mood changes based on account balances are idiotic.
The game's creators want to force rich teams to spend money, and the effect of these changes will be the opposite.

for example
this week I won 2 lague games and friendly, too
Sponsors paid PLN 1,131,225

before
Sponsors paid PLN 1,174,085

Idiotic system of seasonal expectations;-(

It should be like that if you have loads of money while in bottom league. But money should be less important piece in mood if you are in higher division and it should be increasing the mood if you're in top league, cause itmeans your team is financially strong enough to play in top class and it will bring joy to the team's supporters!
2024-04-21 11:51:57
Nope, playing in top league was unsustainable even before this change, it just got worse.

But again, we are focusing on the wrong changes. We need to get and retain new users.
2024-04-21 12:08:29
Yeah...punishing old users for their commitment is just stupid. The focus needs to be entirely on the fun factor of the game. Make people enjoy playing the game in qtead of punishing them. The game created the gap, not the managers! It's because the focus was mainly on trading and training for almost 20 years, that this gap exists.
2024-04-21 14:19:24
For the old users with lots of money one could add something to spend that would not give them advantage. Or very small advantage. One could discuss that, i am sure the community would come up with a lot of ideas.
But they can work on that later, first the important changes,.
2024-04-21 14:51:45
I agree with the discussion here, it's a weird move to focus on punishing users for being in the game and playing it for a long time and trying to force them to do things they don't want to. I also really don't see the harm of having clubs with money on the side instead of having their money in 16 y old youth (where the game cannot see their real value of millions and thus will not punish you for having bought a 16 year old instead of Messi for the same price).
To me it feels like the devs wanted to make the game harder, but overshot by a lot and instead of making it "hard" for everyone, it's now "impossible" for some users and "hell" for others. I would backtrack on the changes with the feedback from the community, as them having fun is more important than having a perfectly balanced, very punishing game, that people don't enjoy.

From the perspective of a new user after a few weeks, yes the game is a lot harder than it was the last two times I started and this is from the perspective of a veteran, that understands most systems in the game. You don't feel the progression. It must feel even worse for other users that start out fresh. I would really like to see how many stay, how many go into bankruptcy and how they feel about the game.
Wages are higher; sponsor money is a lot more limited and since my fanclub barely grew, the sponsor money stagnates, building up the stadion also didn't do much, so there is no financial progression for the club, leaving me as a manager with only few options for a very long time.
We discussed some possible changes for new teams in the ideas forum btw. Helping new clubs, I also think bots need to be changed Superbots and I still think giving us an international league would help everyone and be a nice focuspoint to improving the game instead of making changes that are subjectively felt as worse.
2024-04-21 19:02:39
All they wanted is to fasten the game and make new users catch up with the old users in a short period of time and then created the opposite.

The only way the new users can earn money is to train talented young players and resell them in a short time if they know how to do that in the first place, which they don't because there is no guidance - they log 4 times and never again. I assume new teams who carry on with playing are ex users who know what they have to do and are willing to be patient, like you.

I wrote at the beginning of these reforms, it is 2024 all games have some kind of guidance, tasks you have to do and get some reward to help you start your team/character/gameplan/whatever.

It is really wrong to punish old users in a dying game.

As for these taxes for reselling players, they should take into consideration other factors than just number of weeks with the club - players age, injuries, history of trading, history of long term training etc.

For example, majority of the sokker world except Polska is in the final stages of National Cup. If someone has injured player and wants to replace him with a veteran for few matches in order to win, why would they be punished if they don't need him for the rest of the season? I really don't get that.

You can punish traders if that is your main concern, but at the same time let majority of people manage their teams as they want to.
