Subject: [IDEA] Referee and assistant referees

2011-10-08 19:12:18
Charles Hill to All
I know this is an old idea but I like it, that's why I start a new topic and make it more visible.

It would be nice to see a referee and assistant referees on the pitch. The referee can show yellow and red cards when fouls are committed (edit: the current system of cards should also stay to make it more clear which player received a card). The assistant referees can wave their flag when a ball crossed the line, when a player is offside and when fouls are committed.

The referee and assistant referees needs to have unearthly pace to keep as close to the ball as possible, but not faster as that will probably look strange. The black squares are an example of the areas the referee and assistant referees stays in. Specially for the referee it's important to have a smaller area as the complete pitch so he can keep as close to the ball as possible.

When the color black is already used by 1 of the teams, the referee and assistant referees can have a different colored shirt. These are official FIFA colors used for referee shirts.

i wouldnt use the card figures (current cards are much more clear), though i would like the flag dudes. Should be easy to program (let them run together with most offensive player). And for the ref, code him like a 21st fieldplayer (well you get what i mean)

I also think the cards like it is now should stay as it is, or else you don't really know who received the cards. But as an extra it would be nice if the referee also shows a card I think :)

And indeed, if the assistant referees follow the most offensive players on their own half of the pitch, they would always be at the right spot. Good point. Only thing is, what is the ball crossed the line and the assistant referee is far away, maybe that will look a bit strange ..

Maybe the assistant referee should always be half between the ball and the most offensive player. The moment the gap between ball and most offensive player becomes smaller, the assistant referee is also close by. And when the ball is on the other half of the pitch the assistant referee can wait at the center line till the ball enters his half of the pitch again, like in real football :)

Big +1

good idea! also we would lke to see a reserve bench with coach and reserve players :D
and after typical sokker-offsides and first minute red cards a coach attacking the referee *ggg*

ok, if managers are free to turn it off.
otherwise big -1

Don't be afraid of change and improvements ...... ;)

No need to have the possibility to turn everything on or off. DEVs should make things and fully introduce, or don't do it at all.

you can turn the sound on and off, it´s your own choice.
so whats your problem to turn pictures on and off?
it´s same thing with the comicfaces. if you don´t want them you are able to turn them off

and if you think, referees will be an improvement, then feel free. it´s your thing.

whats the next step for you? should the defs decide, you must have cheerleaders?

a game is good, when the users decide as much as possible for themselves. if not, then a game will lose members and some day it will die.

Funny but useless

that's a very nice idea!

+1, we have to see some "Collina" here:))

I think DEVs should make things that are supported by the majority of the Sokker managers and then introduce it. I don't see the reason to turn off weeks or even month of work if it's done well. And I don't know any game that have the possibility to turn off all kind of options that costs a lot of hours to make, but it could be you are used to it and it's a new thing in online gaming ..

and if you think, referees will be an improvement, then feel free. it´s your thing.

And yes I think it's a nice option or else I would not have posted it ;) It makes Sokker more real (even though Sokker isn't real). And it doesn't change the way Sokker is played at all, everything stays the same except for a visual thing.

should the defs decide, you must have cheerleaders?

Eeuuhhh .... this is seeking for strange examples, I can't give a serious answer to this kind of strange examples.

Please ... don't start with the 'will lose members and some day it will die' comments :S I have really seen enough of these comments the last couple of years. Change things and Sokker will loose members, don't change things and Sokker will loose members ...

Like I already wrote, the DEVs should change and introduce things that are supported by the majority of the managers. If most like it then there is a good chance the number of managers will increase as other will like it to.

a quote like this has nothing to do with "majority of sokker managers".
if someone would ask: do you want to put away the fan mood for firendlies, be sure a "majority" would say : yes. never mind, if the devs worked "lot of hours" to make it work as it is now. the majority never looks up a thread like this.
and, as i wrote before: whats your problem to turn a thing off. it works with the faces, so why not with the referees?

please...dont start this "more real" thing again. nothing in this game is "real". i have seen enough games which are dead now, because some people made it "more real", put the factor aggression in it or money for betting, commercials and other nonsense.
an unnecessary visual thing is enerving for many managers, be sure.

Eeuuhhh .... this is seeking for strange examples, I can't give a serious answer to this kind of strange examples.

why strange. this is real. most people seem to like them. and beat my ass, i think they like these silly girls more than the referees.
but if you want another example: put vuvuzelas in the game which can´t be turned off.
people like vuvuzelas. most of them used them. so come on, don´t be afraid. its a nice change.

maybe you don´t want to decide for yourself. but others do. it`s a bit strange, that your only argument is a so called majority. if a majority would decide, the whole world would have the death punishment. thats reality.

Ok I stop this discussion, you keep coming with to many strange examples (death penalty, cheerleaders, vuvuzelas, betting etc) which absolutely makes no sense to me at all.

Till now 75/80% of the managers who did vote likes the idea of having referees, that's a fact! ;)
