Subject: [IDEA] New division structure after deleted divisions

2014-11-07 08:45:53
I agree about the structure of this idea.
I only want to say that maybe different countries have different needs.
A big country maybe need the lower division to be bigger, while a little one need another solution.

I think there must be a model for every country. But that model should be modified by admin, in order to fill the need of every community, looking at every country conditions and ideas (and maybe doing a poll in the countries forums?)

greg could be ready to study a structure like 1+2+4+8+16+32+32+1 (=bottom div. like junior system)
But of course, not this season.

We are near to have first 100 votes.

Nice :) And Yes 76%, I think greg should be more convinced by now that changing the structure isn't something managers don't like ;)

Agree with the lowest division like unique group as junior championship actually.
Because the newbes can play between them, they can learn progressively to play, they don't play with bot, or haven't cancelled match 5-0, It's boring in that case.
They get an unique forum more fun, than several little forums empty and dead.
They don't play match against old players who get big team, and they don't lost 10-0 in a match, they will be discouraged, and will quit the game at the beginning.

Exactly

If structure would change into 1,2,4,8,16 etc groups by div. it were a possibility for more mobility and more suspens during all championship because:

All first teams in each group will be promoted in upper div. instead of 7th and 8th teams from upper div
and ...
all second teams in a group will play qualifications against 6th an 5th teams from upper div.

There is one problem with a structure of 1,2,4,8,16 etc and that's the number of divisions needed in large Sokker countries. I think the top 5 countries and specially Poland will really get a lot divisions.
2014-11-11 17:08:56
of course but it's just a question of division's naming.

Actually in France it's:
Ligue 1, ligue 2, National, CFA

it will become, per example:

Ligue 1, pré-Ligue 1
Ligue 2, pré-Ligue 2
National, pré-National
CFA, CFA2
and ... Honneur (only one group with all (new) users and seven bots)
2014-11-11 17:18:52
What I mean is that Poland will need 10 divisions for 6819 managers with 1,2,4,8,etc. And another problem with this many divisions is that division 10 (4096 teams) is too much and because of that this division 10 will have many botteams again, so the same problem as we have right now with botteams in lowest leagues.

Whatever with 1,2,4,8,16,32,64,128,256,256 and bottom division?
Because the 10 first divisions are with 6136 teams you know!
So a bottom div with 683 users

Without bottom divison it were 1,2,4,8,16,32,64,128,256,512
So 8184 teams = 6819 users and 1365 bots

a last idea were better with:
1,2,4,8,16,32,64,128,256,256,64 and a bottom division with 171 human users and ... 7 bots

Or you could avoid the excessive number of leagues by following my advice and keeping the top leagues with the 4x structure, rather than the opposite ;)
At least in Argentina, 1st-2nd and 2nd-3rd promotions are not really an issue in the sense that the worst team in each division are comparable to the best teams in the immediately lower one. Instead, new users will never be able to compete with older users "forcefully relegated" due to league structure compression.

The real problem is that the base of the pyramid gets too large and full of bots, so that's where the main trimming should happen, leading to easier promotions (again, this is the way in which new divisions were created during SK's expansion).

For example, the biggest country, Poland, would fit in 8 divisions:
1,4,16,32,64,128,256,512
Or nine, with more bots at the bottom division, if you also shrink the 3rd division:
1,4,8,16,32,64,128,256,512
so I'd actually recommend the first option for Poland. Any other country would currently, at most, be 5 divisions long
1,4,16,32,64,128
Or 6 if we shrink third division:
1,4,8,16,32,64,128
which I would only advise for really small countries.

The reason is mathematically simple: the closer to the top you shrink the pyramid, the bigger its impact on the number of divisions, as you need to go much further down to reach a sizable base. Shrinking the lowest division has barely any consequence: for example, if you cut in half division "D" in Argentina right now, you can still fit all human users. 1,4,16,32 is all we need. But if you start at the top, you get 6 divisions: 1,2,4,8,16,32 and the last one is full of bots. This would already be bad for us, and it would be a nightmare for countries above 1000 users.

Follow the math, keep 1,4 and in most cases 16 untouched, trim the rest ;)

Its good your logical.

saw very good ........

If the structure of divisions is going to be changed, greg most definitely won't use 1,4,16 that's already pretty clear.

Is not good enough for all the countries with less then 300 users (and the lower number of users, the less sufficient your solution is).... would be just the same almost.... look at my post at start of thread (maybe add another category=countries with over 2000 users)..... also i see no problem in many divisions, as it would just mean there is much more even leagues and it would clear the problem of bots the more...
