Once again, despite we had agreed to play U20 vs. U20, our opponent played with his 21 year old stars. This time I was more careful. I expected him to break the agreement, so I prepared the team for an even game.
Was it an even game?
According to the value of the starting eleven of both teams, Singapore had a slight advantage.On the other hand, one must see that Singapore is allways playing with the same tactic. So they are highly predictable.
How can you explain the big score?
One thing is tactics. The other thing has to do with the National Team of Pilipinas. Coach PREK made one very big win last week - I wanted to give him my message: With his effectiveness, he inspires me to do better than my best!
What impressed you most in todays game?
I liked the way the players responded to the "flower"-tacic. The defensive line stopped very clever most attacks. The midfield made a lot of vertical passes and I liked the way our debutant Adolpho Caasi played. Most of all I enjoyed the top performance of our MVP, of Enrico Nabua. Against all odds, he played beeing in tragic form, not in a position he usually plays. The result was unexpected magnificent! His coach acelio_1216 may celebrate him as the hero of Singapore.
What to keep from this game?
The joy of winning 5-0.
Next game is against Hong Kong. Is it an U20 or an U21 game?
Nothing special is agreed, so it is an U21 game. They have a Hungarian coach and I have big respect of the Hungarian community. I hope some of our players are in better form next Friday - it can be hard work...

I am not surprised, that Misr U21 arranged match with somebody else. Their coach is a moron, his U21 has an average mark of 20, because he uses goalkeepers as MIDs or ATTs. I tried to give him some hints about extra training for the most talented players, but my effort seems to be fruitless. :(

Since last week I wanted to check a tactic for a special situation, for a close and well organised defence. Last week there were no game, because of our opponent - he forgot to choose a tactic for his team. Luckily the next opponent was Iran. Their team is not strong like Senegals team, but they have also a good defence. They lost most games by one or two goals - only Malta succeeded to score four times. I checked the modified "3223" tactic in this game and we scored five times.
What was the modification in your tactic?
There were more space between the midfielders and the strikers. The result was that the opponent started more attacks and when we took posession over the ball we made a lot of long direct passes. I enjoyed watching Cambay, Mangrubang and Lupitan breaking the defence with their magnificent passes.
Nabua has a hopeless (1) form and Salita tragic (0). Would it be better if you select other players?
Perhaps yes, perhaps no. Salita could score more goals if he had better form, but Nabua was the MVP in the game against Singapore, with the same form! It depends on a lot of factors. One of them is the tactic I choose and the skills of the players. The only thing I can say for sure is that players with better form play better than they can play and I prefer high formed players.
What can a coach do to rise the form of his player?
Sometimes he can do nothing. I had a player for 10 seasons and I tried everything. His form remained low. But he played well! He just played under his own capacity.
On the other hand I tried some other things with players with low form and I noticed a pattern. Young players use to raise their form when they play official games. Other players raise their form when I play with different tactic or move to another team and some older players raise their form when they get a rest. It´s just my subjective observation, perhaps it is totally random...
The 1-4 was made by a magnificent pass of Mangrubang. Tell us something about this situation!
This is a new tactical trick. I play it with my team, Franconia Athens. Two or three players are very close each other on the same line, between the midfield player and the ball. The result is a long direct pass. If the strikers are on motion, they are free. So I try to adjust their starting and final position according to

It was a tough game against a stronger team. Our players had to run a lot and they got tired. I am satisfied with the result.
Shouldn´t it be a U20 game?
Yes it should. Italian coach of Honduras, mrtessa, told me early in the past week, that he would play U21. I took the risk to put our U20 team to play. I think they did well, that´s why I am saisfied.

I feel lucky with the second tactic (flower3). In this game we scored 2 goals with it in 33 minutes, against a stronger team. I used a similar tactic last Sunday with my team, Franconia Athens and I had a great result.

A new initiative has started. "Mentors for new managers". There are 8 new managers in Pilipinas. I thought, that if they have our support, they will have more fun with the game and they also could make some players develop faster.
The new managers will be able to ask for individual help from a list of experienced managers. They can have their sokker-buddy and share thoughts and sokker-wisdom about tactics, finances, skills, about everything they like.
Everybody can participate in this program - sharing information is most times a win-win situation.
Have you an example for it?
Yes I have manager ceqcfc of Quezon F.C. in my mind. He started by buying only young players from Pilipinas. For me it was not the best option, because he hadn´t in the begin of the game enough money to have good training staff. After short time he changed strategy and now he trains goalkeepers. For this, he is one of the most important keys for the success of the U21 (and in the future also of the NT team). Thank you ceqcfc!
What about next game?
It is against India. I just confirmed that it will be a U20 vs U20 game.
And what about the final of the U21-World Cup?
In the qualification round past season we played against Romania and I told they will win the World Cup. Now, they are in the final and their opponent is Polska. I tell again the same think, Romania will win the World Cup. Romanian coach cristidinu is a master in tactics.

Again and again and again the same story. U20 arranged and our opponent plays U21. It is very nice to see that our team plays as equal against older teams with double value; It is nice to see that we can dominate such a game; But for me, it is unfair. I can handle a game lost, but in this way, I get totally mad.
You dominated the game?
Yes. Just watch it. India created only one chance (62´) in 90 minutes and they scored due to a fatal error of unexpierenced defender Mauban, who just lost the control of the ball.
But you had no really big chances?
Indeed, we had only one or two big chances. Please take notice that we played U20 and India played with U21. Also notice that I expected an U20 opponent. If they played with U20 or we played with 21 year old srikers, we would score at least 3 goals.
Why are you so angry?
I can´t believe that the world is full of liars. It is the 4th game this season! Do those peaople have no moral values?
Tactically something new?
I checked players in different positions. Now, I know e.g. that Balatibat has to play far away from the offence line and not as attacking winger. Next games I will try different tactics.

I was afraid of this game. The german coach roman112 of O‘zbekiston plays with offside trap and has formed a very dangerous team. I told you last week, it will be a tough game and I will create a new tactic. I think we performed well against a team with higher value than ours.

I feel lucky with the community of Pilipinas. The players are much better than before 2 seasons, it was the first time we performed close to the average mark of 50 points, I even can´t remember the value of the starting eleven reaching the same level again. I want to thank you all for supporting me by train the players more efficient!

As I told last week, Saudi Arabia has a strong manager with a weak team. We played our game and won.
What to keep from this game?
I think our defence was compact enough, even by playing with 3 defenders. The Saudis had only long shot chances. I was mailed by marc8, coach of F1 RedBull. He sent me the updated skills of his players. I think all players he trains made extraordinary progress. It´s not a coincidence that 7 of the 22 main field players of Pilipinas U20 train in his team!

I took a look at the stats of the game and at the average mark we reached.
The highest average mark we had reached with U20 before 2 seasons was 43.5. Today we had over 45.
The highest value of a starting eleven with U20 we had reached before was arround 23 mil.P.. The value of todays starting eleven was close to 28 mil.P., 20% more.
Why are those number important for you?
I think one can read on these numbers the progress that was made. The progress on training young players in and from Pilipinas. Some countries have luck with some extra talented players, we create our luck by having better training staff, by being more organised in training, by trading more with young players. Those things bring better results in the close future.
What about next game?
Next game is against Prathet Thai U20. We played again on week o and the reult was Prathet Thai U20 0:0 Pilipinas U20. It´s time to see how far we developed.

As I told last week, Saudi Arabia has a strong manager with a weak team. We played our game and won.
What to keep from this game?
I think our defence was compact enough, even by playing with 3 defenders. The Saudis had only long shot chances. I think we had a very good defence today. The strong point of Thailand is their attack and our team managed it to eliminate the danger.
What about our attack?
Off course I prefer some more goals. If I knew a way, I would do it... If you have to suggest some tactic, just do it! Furthermore, there are actually some of our strikers training in attacking skills. I think they will perform much better in the future games.
What to keep from this game?
Keep in mind the progress made by this team. We played before 12 weeks again against Thailand. The value of their starting eleven raised 18%, ours 55%. The average mark of their team raised 2 points by 5%, ours raised 5 points. It is near 13%. These numbers mean to me, that the trainers of our U20-players are doing effectively their job. My congratulation to the community of Pilipinas. I feel thankfull for supporting me in this way to my project for qualification in the next U21 World Cup.

It could be a big celebration today. It´s the first time I see our team breaking the margin of mark 50. We had an average mark of 51.5!
Why wasn´t it a big celebration?
Off course because I didn´t manage it to win the game.
There are some rumours, that you spent your week making parties and you were flirting with women every night. You gave the team for the whole week only 15 minutes of your attention and you were distracted. Is it true?
I must admitt it is true. I feel sorry for not winning this game. It was a lesson for me. From now on I will spend minimum 30 minutes with my full attention on the team.
What were your main errors in this game?
Missplacement of the strikers. I had a similar situation on my [url)http://sokker.org/comment/matchID/27488233]league game this Sunday[/url]; I think the problem is solved.
What about next game?
Next game is against Tunis U21. It´s a very weak team. We will play with U20. This means, that was the last U21-game for some players like: Canlas, Pinagbuklod, Lupitan, Apanapao, Ren-Ren Cambay, Manuyong, Salita, Cadwising etc. I want to thank their coaches for training them!
Who of them is a hot prospect for the NT?
There are more than one hot prospects. I see Manuyong and Ren-Ren Cambay. Also Pinagbuklod, Lupitan, Apanapao, and Salita may develop to NT-playerrs. I wish them all good luck!
