Buying player for one game is rather a bug from our perspective... There is no interest for wide squad today in sokker, and 4 weeks period is a bit motivating for more carefull planning.

If you want teams to have wider squads you'd have to make bigger changes. There are not many injuries or suspensions and players at the top end are fairly expensive, so it's simply not worth buying a striker or goalkeeper for a few million just for the bench. The 4 week rule won't change that. It will only punish teams more for injuries when they have to buy a player and keep him for 4 weeks. (I'm not against the 4 week rule, but I think the main issue is trading and there are better ways to prevent that.)

To encourage managers to have wider squads there'd have be more injuries and suspensions, but I suspect that wouldn't be a popular change. One thing you could do is make form change more quickly, so for example it could make sense to have 3 strikers and let the 2 in better form play. At the moment that's pointless because players will often stay in low form for 2 seasons or more (which should be changed anyway). But in general it would take big changes to the game economy to make wider squads useful, which would be a different topic altogether.

There are not many injuries or suspensions

Ahem...
I think you're 1 of the "lucky" guys who rarely has injured players...
I've had 9 injuries this season alone! We're still only at the start of week 7... And I always have around 22 players (2 squads)
4 Weeks is a logical choice. You're not obligated to buy an expensive substitute...Also, you can keep more youth players for filling bench places... Instead of firing them.

As they said... these changes are for everyone...

Compared to real life football injuries are still relatively few and short. Noone will buy a reserve striker for 5-10 million when it's unlikely you'll need him. That's why managers buy players for one or two games when they have injuries.

As I said, I'm not against the 4 week rule, and I'm not against wider squads in general. My point was only that the 4 week rule won't do much to encourage wider squads, in reply to what Raul said. Whether that's good or bad is another issue.

stop compare RL with a game where training depends time player is on the field ...
4 weeks is too much especially with 2 championship games per week coming up

+1 You're right, the new rule won't stop buying players for one match - its still far more cheaper to buy a replacement for few matches than maintaining full squad with quality reserves.

We need further rule if we want wider squads but I don't think more injuries is the best option. There is simple solution - new players are not allowed to play in official matches in the first week after arrival. This way we will be forced to have adequate reserves. Of course 0 minutes in the first week will create a training problem but it can be solved with free full training without playing time requirment in the first week.

Or a softer rule - new players can be used but they need time for acclimation to their new teams and will play at 50% of their potential in the 1st week, 75% 2nd week and 100% in 3rd week.

yeah, that is what we need .. more and more rules and restrictions
2020-06-29 22:12:02
That's called teamwork and already exists. Maybe it only needs to be taken a bit more into account

+1

4 weeks is too much especially with 2 championship games per week coming up

Why?? It's not even related... On the contrary, You'll NEED your new player because of that!
Otherwise you're going to risk even more injuries and problems. If you switch players as base players, you'll give them less time to get injured. (Well you divide the chances).
2020-06-29 22:39:40
if you can afford such squad ... witch comes to base reason rich teams will get stronger
2020-06-29 22:42:06
Rich teams ARE stronger...
2020-06-29 22:42:35
and this rule will make them even stronger
2020-06-29 22:45:20
and one more reason im against long squads great NT players will stay on bench with no training because of this rule ...
2020-06-29 23:13:25
No training? Did you miss out on the training dairy?
Training slot = 60% training
No match = slight loss of skill so a no goner...
Also, you don't have to have LOOOOOONG squads. 22 players... 2 teams. More than enough I think.
Off course you need to open yourself up for a new rule... that might be the hardest challenge
2020-06-29 23:18:47
did you just reply on my comments without thinking?
you have 11 slots you will not buy old players cause you do not want to waste money so you will buy good alternatives that will play but will not be trained ...
2020-06-30 00:00:36
You "think" you're smart here?

1st, you only have 10 slots
2nd: you will not buy old players cause you do not want to waste money so you will buy good alternatives that will play but will not be trained

I'm afraid you don't seem to understand the concept of sokker :-s
OR you buy younger players, which you can train, OR you buy older players which you don't...
