I think that they should evaluate the work done by the "UX expert," or the things that they are asking from him. All the proposed designs are better than what we got in the end, but that is just my opinion.


I agree, and that is a pitty because that is what new players will see from start, all the options that there are in Sokker they find out later. The same as the current situation and I think most agreed it had to be better to attract new player.

But it is how it is, but a real pitty. A missed opportunity that won't come back again.

Charles, sorry to say, but you are only one fighting still with final design we prepared. We rather see lot of possitive comments.
So few explanations about it, to give you overview to our decisions.

First of all, our pool was prepared for first aproach to design, it was just an draft of potential directions.
Community decided, that best option is to go into light or dark theme, other ptions where to heavy and messy.

We agreed on it, and finally prepared two proposals based on dark and light motive.

But, as first proposal was only a draft, we started to upgrade them focusing on single details.
Sure, we also used some elements from proposal number 2, but to be honest - vertical headers are probably the only direct idea. Maybe you also think, that color is similar - thats not true, our final proposal is totally new color, and the reason why we decided to use it is, that the first proposal was a bit to sad / grey.

If you are afraid about our design skills - well, it's a individual opinion, but thats my daily job. i'm working with branding and design almost 12 years, and also we hired few talented designers to make final proposals and we are finally happy from result.

Sure, you can still claim its just a crap, but even if - then you need to wait a bit longer, till community will create own design proposals, then you will for sure find something accurate.

Thanks for your full answer. Unfortunatly we won't agree on the design and honostly, I am a bit shocked real designers have made this (absolutely not as an insult, I am really surpriced about that). Photo realistic and avatar / drawing style combined? Come on, you can't be serious that is a good decision.

The concept looked good, all in avatar style, and that is a bit risky looking at the compition online, but it worked as all was made in that design style, incl the sharp and clean lines. But all that was made to make it look good is taken out of it. And I'm not talking about colors, a car or bike design can be nice or ugly, color doesn't matter, that is an easy change.

And how the page is build up, is fine if I look at the dark concept page. If you had made it a bit lighter + a white version, you where done. Often when it already was fine tweaking here, and tweaking there, and bit more here ruins it. I know that from the logos I made, my hobby, when it is done it is done.

And yes, others can look at it and think, it is fine, oke or nice. But design-wise things are not all okay, but most managers don't look at it that way. We can't discuss taste, it is personal, but this is about design, style, modern, a complete look in 1 style, etc.

And to end this, because all is already done, I think this won't attract those new managers many are hoping for. As I also wrote to James, this won't change again or at least not for a long time. So it has to be done as good as possible.


Btw, there was a competition a long time ago for making a new design. Not sure who the winner was, but what I remember of it, it was good. Not sure if that is still the case in 2020, but back then it was. Not that it matters, but your comment about design from community remembered me. Think someone else will remember more, and maybe even know where to find it on the forum.

thats true - but photo is just a placeholder for final proposal.
We started our work with ilustrator, currently we have only player portraits, we need more time for other graphic elementes we need to draw, starting from trophies, club emblems, finishing with lifestyle ilustrations (that we will use in pressroom or starting page for example).

We believie that drawing style could be something unique according to competitors and we want to keep all graphic elements in that style.

We also make some tests with people who dont play sokker at the moment, and feedback was really good, so we dont think it will be a serious issue - rather 90% of opinions is - "thats unique, modern and clear" - seems good enough for first step.

As i mentioned before - we want to allow users prepare own designs, so maybe some day we will find something better, created by someone else, for now im sure we are moving forward, and its a step in good direction.

And as I wrote, I agree the drawing style looks different and good. That's why I don't get the photo realistic picture, the goal keeper pictures used in all 4 previous designs looked better as a whole.

Fair point. I think its the best solution, so it will just add one extra level, and combined with shorter season can work really well.


one more level of training in each skill, seasons of 13 weeks ... I would like to know if the effectiveness of the training will continue to be the same. This is: pace a little slower than the rest of the skills. At least that was the devs idea for the general update. Now, if a new level is finally added for each skill, the effectiveness of the training for pace (a little slower) and the rest of the skills will remain the same?

I would like to know what you have in mind Raul. Right now I'm training pace but if you finally equal the efficiency of pace training with the other skills, maybe I would have to change my schedule :/

Ask about the topic of selling players. A user has raised the issue with me that he cannot sell a player. Could you specify how long it has to be on the team in order to be sold?

Here is what the user asks me:
In my case, I have 1 player that I bought a month ago, he played 7 games, has trained and improved his skills, but I no longer need him, since I have brought another who will take his place, therefore I want to sell him.

The player "thinks he deserves another chance"
(This has been happening with all the players on my squad who arrived less than 2 months ago)

Its 4 weeks period - so if its longer, then its connected with other transfer rules - like to many transfers in last time, etc.

Im really in defense of this reform, high frequency transfer has completely distorted the game for years and I'm glad the devs finally reacted to the excesses of buying / reselling.

But...

The rules are not really clear about "connected" things. For example :

- its 4 weeks period of match played, or in team (since transfer) ?
- a player cannot be sell for 3 months (or a season) because of "connected" trading rules ?

This rules will frustrate a lot of teams accustomed to buying / reselling (for the good) but frustrate more than necessary every users since we don't know exactly what you're getting into when you buy a player.

I remember the discussions about transfers. It seemed to me that simpler and clearer rule were enough. For example, a player can only be resold after x weeks, no other "connected rules", period.

i think that the limitation should be progressive with the number of sales lately, but less limiting than 4 weeks for teams with minimal number of sales lately

The limitations are combined with 5-6 factos. Raul gave details free in the past, somewhere in prior pages... (I am lazy to search now...)
As far as I remember there was also a factor of activity of the player, who shall be transfer listed...
It's complicated, like in RL and that's why I love it! ;D
