Subject: »[info]Dev Diary #82: Automatic release of NT-players from
the new movements of the players for each of the actions in the game
shot, head, throw, kick, save .... are more improved, have more details than the existing ones!!
i agree with BlueZero for the New viewer: The top view that should simulate the old 2D perpective angle
in general in any case I would like to have visual contact with whole field, and not to have crop in the corners

Yep, we know the problem, but first lets just replace flash elements, then we can fix it for sure.
not sure to understand. Does it mean that graphic charts will be update (html instead of flash) in the current interface during transition, yes or no?

New viewer: The top view that should simulate the old 2D looks far from good, barely can see the players, will be highly dependent on the t-shirt color.
oh i will love to see a top tactical view with abstract forms (just circles) : certainly i will use this view by default for clarity.

Top view with circles would be great if they eventually make an app for the game.
Dont need an app (!?) :-)
Ball and players data positions are here (for the 3d view) so it can be easily re use for a tactical view.
I understand the marketing option to spend much ressources to create a "realistic" 3D. But that's a rat race for nothing IMO.
Keep It simple stupid principe should guide Sokker towards an abstract and tactical view rather than spend times and ressources to reach current "good looking" standards ( "standards " are now FIFA, PES 3D engines, HD view, ....) ...
Anyway just my thought about simplicity, i see many successful independent games who crush AAA 3D games using... pixel-art :-)

Circles? Is it a joke? :)
I like the progress with new match viewer. Every week looks much better :).
Isn't there a way to put the same angle as in the old 2d viewer? I think it's the perfect angle.

You want a joke?
Sokker trying to look like FIFA in an industry where users watch text :)
My opinion about 3D is the same as with the first 3D they tried to make, I will always wonder what real improvements could have been made if they had spent the 3D resources on other parts of the game. I am pretty sure that 3D viewer is the biggest investment.
Investing money in an app, and having your product in the app store is priceless. But for some reason, they see potential in web gaming...

Not circles please! But it would be good that top viewer we can see the players better :)

Exactly. It works very well for a legendary Football Manager series. It should be implemented into new version of Sokker too.

I mean, it looks nice, but I don't care. Who cares, a few people? Few people want 21st century graphics, while Among Us is the most popular game in the world. They think they are gonna get younger generations with this 3D, no, they won't.
I am happy we made them consider keeping the HTML 2D, I don't need more than that.

Well, why we dont want to have both? Top view is easy to develop, thats why i decided to put one screen with top camera. Ofc with current player textures is not working (as Blue Zero pointed). But we can easy take that idea and develop some „tactic view”, with circles instead players, It can be a third viever option like (3D / old 2D / tactic view).
Ofc its an extra work, first we need to end our current tasks, but i really like the idea of that extra view.

We already replaced most charts with html - but you are right, they are less clear than old ones - we will correct that „bug”, but first we need to replace elements that are still in flash, then we will upgrade charts (they are not perfect, but they are working at least).
3D / old 2D / tactic view
I don't like circles because it's to take a step back...having old 2D that's a perfect tactic view, who would see circles?
But ok, there's no accounting for taste. So, that would be the perfect "cocktail" for everyone (3D / old 2D / tactic view).
You are fantastic, Raul!

Well, personally i think top view is much better for tactic, there was even an idea on forum, to make an option to display tactic lines as we have them on tactic editor (35 squares). For me sounds cool, but as you said - its all about taste, finally if we can have choice here, its always best solution.

It sounds different, if you show squares (35) with lines like in tactic editor, it would be useful for making better tactics.
Anyway, it's only for making tactics, not exciting to watch.
