Agree. Such a change should go in hand with ME update, otherwise game quality will simply get worse. Everyone will still try to get maximum amount of "main" skills - pace/tech/striker or pace/def and secondaries will be left low.
Maybe some kind of change that significantly slows down training of skills 15+ while making lower skills train faster? Like if you had a choice between getting striker from 15 to 16 OR get one of pass/pm/def from 6 to 10 in the same timeframe.

Everything will depend on results.
If everyone from l2 would lose their qualification matches, then (with respect of current standings) promoted to 1st league will be 1st and 2nd place from l2.1, 1st place from l2.4 and 1st place from l2.3.
If everyone from l2 would win their qualification matches, then only l2 winners will be promoted

I'm 100% sure that they will try to improve all aspects of the game, including ME.

Remember that this change (slower training etc.) will have an impact on the future. Current 23-30+ year old players won't be affected by it, or will be affected minimally. So they have a lot of time to improve the ME so that the players stop acting like idiots.

Also worth remembering, that less weeks/season also means that older players (28+) will degrade slower because they will have less weeks that they lose skills = will be useful for more seasons than today.

Thanks ;)

I've seen all the changes to the match engine we had. Obviously the guys who programmed the game, that knew everything about their code, had a very hard time to make the players more intelligent. Otherwise they would have done it a long time ago.
And now a different team will miraculously solve all the problems. I don't even know if they intend to try it.
The players will look more similar, because most people will focus on the same, basic skills, but they will perform way worse, lacking the additional "b-skills".
I have no idea what your optimism is based on...

Good point about older guys, they will be useful for way more games aswell.

But about ME changes - until they come (if ever) everyone will still minmax main skills of atts/defs at the cost of sideskills that will make game gradually worse. Nothing positive about it.

My optimism is based on the fact that I remember the game pre-3x 18 strikers everywhere and it was a lot more fun due to huge diversity in players

IMO at top level the game became very boring due to basically identical squads and tactics

having different types of players is much more fun. you have to take into account if your opponent has a fast or high dribble winger, what kind of strikers and defenders does he have, are his midfielders creative or destructive + the same when creating your team (what kind of defenders, mids, atts you want)

I've seen all the changes to the match engine we had. Obviously the guys who programmed the game, that knew everything about their code, had a very hard time to make the players more intelligent.

or they wanted it this way.

it's all about tuning the game engine properly. you can change it so that defenders with very good pm&pass act like incredible pm&pass when moving out the ball from the back. there's lots of solutions.

and lots of possible changes, for example at one point the strikers were often changing the direction while running with the ball, but it was lowered a lot with time. there are many, many things that don't work properly in the ME, if they want to improve the game, they will also have to improve the ME.

But why would you think that we will have more different kinds of players? 2x17/18 defs will still be a thing, simply with worse sideskills. And noone will train anything but pace/tech/striker for atts anymore to counter that. Yes, mids will get more interesting as they tend to be more rounded at 5 skills at the cost of other 2 positions getting less so.

I think you're just idealizing the past :-p

If players have a lower skillsum you don't get more diversity, because people only can train the most important skills. In fact you get less diversity, less differentiation and just worse performing players.

so less weeks means less trainings but if it stays as it has been said before in DDs the efficiency will rise between the possitions possible to train in one time so at the end the game will be equal as today and it wont come back to prehistoric era ;) or do I understand it wrong?

Big communities like Poland,i don't think will be affected from the new system,3000+ ppl,
many Academies many talents.
But the low will struggle.
Rare to find any talent, and if that talent affected by injuries or deformation, then
its more worse than the system we have now.

No. Players will deteriorate slower, but they will have less skills to lose, so it's basically the same.
Let's say you need 160 training points for divine, but you need 130 points for unearthly. Let's say that 30yo player loses 10 point per week (it's random in sokker reality, ofc), that means that he will drop a full skill now for one season (160 points - drop to unearthly), but he would also drop a full skill with new system (130 points - drop to magical).

What you are saying is only true for players that had been trained with 16-week seasons. It favors teams that have strong, old players, and gives them chance for a longer domination.
2022-02-15 15:00:05
Has it been said so? I thought max training per week will be the same or probably less than now. Just that you'll be able to get that for all 10 trainees instead of half like now.
2022-02-15 15:01:21
That was his point - that current players will provide watchable games for next 5-10seasons still. After that - hopefully there is new ME or everyone has gotten used to new reality.

Isn't it what is happenning in real life as well ?

I really liked the new league system . Also promised training system looks fine . Which gives me a good sign for youth school reform.
The only crazy part is the next season . Training pace for 33 players is legitimate cheating :)
