Subject: »[info]Dev Diary #82: Automatic release of NT-players from

We are planning to set incomes from stadiums HIGHER a bit than it was. And rebqlace it with wages of top players, so it will not affect newbies.

higher than it was before changes, lower than now
but please tell me what kind of net real increase does let's say +20% give each season to a top tier team in Poland and how much net real increase does it give to a new team with hopeless fan club and 3400 stadium? :-)

If your point is to stay with current level of incomes - then i dont understand how you can propose such a thing. 40% of incomes stays in the game now. No small solution like higher taxes or coaches retirement will solve it - it is a huge amount of money, currently only players wages and coaches are only real part of club expences.

of course it's a ridiculous amount of additional money each season and of course it's a problem for the game in general because everything in this game becomes too easy for all older teams and people were raising this issue when the changes were announced...

it is not however a problem for small and new teams because due to a lot of money draining down to them + FIXED COSTS of everything [youth school, coaches, stadium improvement] this situation is GOOD for them because they develop much faster if they are active and train properly

it's very easy to buy a player for 20-100k zloty and then sell such player for 3-8 million zlotys which is A LOT of money for a developing team especially in comparison to what they make from the system [tickets etc.]

Ok, well. thanks

I think any tutorial should come with task to be completed by the player, for example:

-Check office and economy tabs, with pop ups or descriptions explaining the different tabs and its purpose.
-Check players and their different skills.
-Check stadium and learn about ticket price, how change it, etc.
-Check tactics(most important part imho) AND edit and save your own tactic. new players i have see tend to neglect this part, but making a half decent tactic is absolutely better than using a default one, and knowing how edit and create one will help a new player more than any other knowledge in the beginning days,

Now, how avoid the typical "f"ck the tutorial" i want to play now! kind of situations? if i recall correctly, new players receive a couple of days of plus after the make their team, just simply change it so that little plus comes after he/she complete the tutorial, a reward to pay attention to a tutorial intended to help you.

Should be, on every page you visit as newbie. With some tasks, etc. Great idea, now lets think why we didnt devveloped something like that - we have no more than 20% of pages replaced by new code. So we can develop tutorial that will work only in few places right now.

Do you plan to finish replacing those pages eventually? 20% in 3 years doesn't sound great :p

I get the info that button to allow visible skills for NT will be added in few days. After week it will start working (one week to set personal preferences to users)

I assume by button you mean checkbox. Remember to make it ticked by default, otherwise it would be a bit useless, as 90% of users won't even touch it.

Hope that default preference would be visible skills for NT managers.
Why? Coz there are plenty of semiactive users who don't read mails, also they wont touch the boxes as well.

I thought about simple financial profit, instead of starting with 250k you could start with 100k and with all the tasks done you could get to 500k or something...

About plus - I think it could be financially beneficial to the game to have plus for new users for a much longer period of time. For example for 2 months to make users attached to plus futures (like a training history).
2023-01-23 23:41:49
We are aware that it is just a compromise.
Even for us it is temporary solution, probably in the future we will decide to make another step, to reduce it in all games or get back to previous solution (injuries possible, but also training bonus).

a trial and error dynamic that shows only one thing, they are shooting arrows randomly, at no time do they think about the bad experience it represents for users :(

I would rather let the active users decide whether they want to share the skills with NT coach or not. I will happily click it on every my player.
It might be automatically active for bots and teams with inactive users (not logging for 50 days).

@LowPing

Won't that annoy them even more. I would be furious if the game would choose to show my players to NT coaches by itself. To the point that there is possibility that I would un-share all of them immediately and never share them again. Although I am aware that I am not an average user so that might work in general.

I mentioned it somewhere, someday but once again - it would be good to initiate need for player skills not via standard mail msg but via clicking the same button (or the button in the same place visible for coaches) by coach which would trigger sending some kind of message/notification, properly translated which would then be shown to user who owns the player (that NT coach asks for skills, do you want to share them with national coach?)

that's why all users apparently will have a week to decide if they want to hide the skills before this goes online and skills are shown

unless of course there's a bug ;-)

many people are semi-active, many might not notice it, many might not care either way, so it could become a half-dead addition, you'd have to mail every player owner asking to turn it on [and there's a mail limit]

I dont agree.
My logic is simple:
To show the skills is the right option, for the right things u dont need to check boxes.
To not show is a bad decision, and for that u need to find the box and to check it.

It would be right if all NT matches would be arcade-like, then there wouldn't be any drawbacks of having players play in NT.
But giving a week to disable it should be fine for those active ones... and this information should be at least in a dev diary dedicated to this (and only this).

@Raul

I really hope the checkbox will be ticked by default. Otherwise there won't be much different than now.

All in all I'm happy with the fact we play NT friendlies as arcades.

Tbh, it's always easy to try and compare SK to real life.
It's a football game, so all the rules of the game should be the same as in Real life
E.g. 5 subs per game and more players on the bench.

But you can't expect NT's to work in a same way as real life does. In real life clubs don't need to send their players to play an NT match every week and usually when a player has to play for his country, than there is no competition going on ( e g. World cup lasts a few weeks; so when a player gets injured, they mostly lose weeks at their NT...)

So having NT games EVERY WEEK is unrealistic in real life, but in this game it is necessary.
In my opinion you should delete all the injuries from every NT game, remove the training as well.
Than you don't even need a Checkbox and just always make NT players skills visible to NT coaches (unfortunately, you probably have spent money paying someone who developed this feature :) )
No-one will complain that their player has to play for his country, as there is no risk...

Problem solved.

Of course, with any change there will be backlash... That's how change works :p

About the economy, I'm not sure how to fix it in the current setup of the game, as I'm not an economist. Your fix sounds logical, but I feel like it still might be short sided.

Also, fix the damn NT world cup groups with 5 countries, you guys promised play offs. They should've been there 2 seasons ago, but still nothing.
Play offs are still a shitty solution but better than what is going on now.

I'm with Belgium in a really tough group of 5 and it looks like I'm going to finish second, as a recent world cup winning country is in my group (Greece).
We both get ratings over 80. And Moldova goes over 75 easily
This way, if one of us doesn't qualify, the world cup won't be played with the best teams in the world.

Either add 4 countries, so all groups have 6 teams, or remove countries without any active user from the world cup qualifications

"there are teams from 2018-19 that can already play for 78+"

Only if you are from one of the large nations. There are teams from the 2000's who can't get that in small nations

The easy way to make it as you say (weak teams can build a bank balance season after season, get to the top, but not stay for long) is to link transfer price to wage.

Every player has a set wage like they do now, but their wage also goes up based on how much they sold for, say, 1%.

So If I buy a player with a wage of $10,000 and I spend $3,000,000 than his new wage at my team is $40,000. Causes money to leave the game AND allows me to work within my budget.

Then at the top end, that 3x SD striker. Wage is $40,000 costs $18,000,000 so new wage is $220,000 per week. This will help remove money from the game, whilst allowing people to still buy the best. And as money in the game reduces, the cost of the above player reduces, and so does the wage, to be more in line with other factors such as sponsorship and gate receipts.

The other great side effect of this is it will promote people training youths. Either you pull a good youth and because he is from your youth school, the wage is very low, or you buy the youth for cheap and train up, again allowing you to have a great player at a low price, and then for those absolutely wonderful youths that sell for a lot, they then get trained properly or sold because it cost a lot to keep them on weekly.

This idea is a win in all directions and has been suggest many times over the years by different people
