Subject: »[info]Dev Diary #82: Automatic release of NT-players from

i know, but fixing player will take years, i belive that even with our speed ME would be possible to improve it faster.
With 4 seasons per year we will see still many multidevine players in next three years at least, even if we will reduce level of new players somehow.

The players will still get trained in the main skills, but you are taking away skillpoints that would go to the B-Skills. The B-skills have always been a very important part of sokker, making it more interesting, because they added variety and complexity to the game, making it more unpredictable.

You seem to think that a world class striker is only defined by being triple superdivine in the main Att skills.
From my point of view a world class striker should additionally have high enough skills in def, play and passing. That's where this game starts to become interesting tactically.
When the striker can rob the ball from the defender, when he doesn't stupidly run into the next defender, but passes the ball to his teammate in time. When he can get the ball to the winger that is unmarked. When he doesn't try to score from an impossible position, but passes to a teammate that has a better chance of scoring.

Deciding to train a striker like this:

formidable stamina, tragic keeper
superdivine pace, weak defender
brilliant technique, hopeless playmaker
poor passing, superdivine striker

or like this:

formidable stamina, tragic keeper
brilliant pace, poor defender
superdivine technique, hopeless playmaker
weak passing, superdivine striker

will not make the game more interesting.

We are aware that additional skills matters.
That is why we increased general training speed.
There will be never player as you presented in Sokker based on curretn training rules - talented player will never be poor or hopeless in any skill, current general training efficiency will set that skills much higher.

Our goal is to avoid top levels of skills, not sum of skills at all.

If they keep the better general training, then the sideskills will probably be better than before [not counting for example ATT monsters who were 3x superdivine + magical passing and magical playmaker, different case]

if Raul adds a new skill "head" it will make the players even more diverse

Nice player

Incredible [13] head tragic [0] keeper
divine [17] pace adequate [6] defender
unearthly [16] technique incredible [13] playmaker
excellent [10] passing divine [17] striker

Raul:"I just believe that it is much better for your tactical possibilities, when there will be some weakness to take advantage of in both players line up - currently best teams are using players with max skill levels, what is the point to face 2x superdivine DEF vs 3x Superdivine ATT?"

This weakness to take advantage of, it already exists and good managers will adapt their tactic and line-up accordingly. Form has an immense effect on a player's performance. Superdivine skills will not mean much when the form is bad. So those players you mention will not perform on the same level, unless they all have the same form.

I don't really get your aversion against multi-divine players. Most teams can't afford them anyway and those who can, are losing a lot of money buying them. They pay a fortune for such a player and with 28 they already might start to drop in pace. Now they age even faster than before.

Are you sure that you guys will be able to change the match engine to get the desired result? I have seen those changes in the past and I did not get the impression, that it is easy to get a decent result.
Because let's be frank, even players with superdivine skills do not behave anything like their real-world counterparts.

To me, making the players worse seems just an unnecessary risk and little to gain.

Raul:"There will be never player as you presented in Sokker based on current training rules - talented player will never be poor or hopeless in any skill, current general training efficiency will set that skills much higher."

If we are talking about a talented player that might be true. Looking at my own youth school, I don't have the feeling that people can be picky.
Maybe I'm just extremely unlucky, but I don't get youth players that are worth training. I have to fire most of them, because I doubt that I would even get 1€.

Let’s be fair here, tactics at the top level (NT) are pretty much the same with 1-2 minor variations and a lot of subtle ones. That’s not fun. You can clearly see more variability at U21 level due to more teams having to make choices. The old engine was imo way more fun because you could do things in very unique ways that just isn’t possible now (especially as the weaker side). Maybe that’s more a ME thing then a skill thing though but at least a skill gap gives you a few more options.

National teams might be different, because coaches have more options to replace players with poor form. On a club level you will have a very hard time financing that. You can do it, but you will lose a lot of money.

On the U21 level I see very poor performances and they might even get worse with the new generations. Nothing I would like to see on a club level.

I don't get how skill gaps are supposed to be something new, for most teams they are already everyday reality, or do you have the feeling that you have too many multiple-divine players in your club?
2023-03-20 01:10:23
maximum weeks of a juvenile in school: 26 weeks
And 15 Y.o

; )

With that, we can make EXCELLENT junior players.
2023-03-20 01:11:12
There should be no 3x superdivine strikers or 5x divine midfielders, it's ridiculous and sokker with diverse players would be much more interesting

At top level all players and teams looks basically the same, there are very narrow differences
2023-03-20 02:10:50
Good thing then that this current change in player skill isn’t as drastic as all players acting like u21s then (albeit from all the complaints one would think it was). So it may mean you have to deal with unearthly instead of superdivine (but so does everyone else). Also if you haven’t got a team of superdivine players it’s not going to impact you too much anyway as the trainign speeds are really only slowed down for the higher end skills. Just saying there’s more important things to be complaining about then a slight reduction in what level a player can get to.
2023-03-20 07:36:06
I have no problem adapting to the changes, I just don't think that they will be beneficial to the game.
The matches are already hard to watch, even on the highest level. So let's create players with lower main skills and less b-skills and everything will turn out great ^^
I have my doubts.
2023-03-20 07:43:28
Even messi is not 3x devine. There shouldnt be players like that in sokker, and that is something we claimed from beggining.

We will change it somehow and ME will follow too. We simply cant stop making changes because of ME, we need to make steps one by one.
2023-03-20 07:49:13
The player with the super divine technique can't catch the slow incoming ball, what are you talking about?
2023-03-20 07:53:17
7 days for a link of the nt (elections).
