Actually there is a big gap beetween divisions and some users are leaving by stagnation.

We have to keep 8 teams groups but ...

The actual system is
1st Div: 1 goup
2nd div: 4 goups
3thrd div: 16 groups etc ...

In each div, the is only one firts leader on 4 for growing up in a new div
Three Other have qualifications vs 5th 6th 7th (not exactly but as)

I propose a new deal:

1st Div: 1 group
2nd div: 2 goups
3thrd div: 4 groups etc ...
4th div: 8 groups

Then all leaders are up in upstair division where 7th and 8th are down
No more qualifications.

---------------------------------------------

If not.
A newdeal in a same division every 4 seasons where groups are mixted again.
Actually you are living in a same groups during years!

+1, I'm in favour. Should be better for newer players.

Only downside: It's a longer way to the top.

I will bring some numbers on the table

Average marks in Czech republic (304 users):

I. division - 70.85
II. division - 59-63 average 62
III. division - 50-58 average 54
IV. division - 18-36 average 24 ( (new users are placed here) only 4 leagues with mark over 30 and 60 leagues below 30)
V. division - 18-22 average 19

Slovakia (137 users):

I. division 66.60
II. division 54-59 average 57
III. division 25-49 average 39 (new users are placed here)
IV. division 12-19 average 17

Nederland (104 users)
I. division 70.61
II. division 60-63 average 62
III. division 24-43 average 31 (new users are placed here)
IV. division 14-21 average 17

Poland (3190 users)
I. division 70.7
II. division 58-70 average 66
III. division 60-68 average 63.6
IV. division 54-60 average 57.7*
V. division 43-55 average 48.1*
VI. division 16-21 average 18.3* (new users are placed here)

* (average of random 16 leagues from division)

There are enormous unbalances in IV Czech division, III Slovakia and III Nederland division. This is (among other reasons) caused by new teams that are added to this division. What I consider the biggest problem is the huge gap between these divisions and the one division above them.
So I agree with your idea of reducing the number of leagues and thus lowering the gap between the divisions.

I agree with the abolishing of qualification as well. It is not common in real-life national league systems, anyway. Plus it gives big advantage to teams playing it, because of the bonus training, so many users aim to finish at 5-7. place (it is preferable than to end at 4-6. position) just to play it. If qualifications were to be abolished, reducing the number of weeks in season to 15 from 16 would be logical.

My ideas for LEAGUE SYSTEM

I agree with actual league system with x4 moltiplying factor for lower leagues: 1 - 4 - 16 - 64 - ...
It allows new users to reach faster the top league, much more than x2 multiplying factor
To be revised: delete low leagues depending by the number of active players, set rewards for positions, different promotion/relegation system.

Introduce money premium for teams from 1st to 4th position obtained in the league.
Maybe $ 200k-150k-100k-50k for lower league, increasing for higher leagues
Example for Italian league:
Eccellenza. 200k-150k-100k-50k
Serie D. 400k-300k-200k-100k
Serie C. 600k-450k-300k-150k
Serie B. 800k-600k-400k-200k
Serie A. 1000k-750k-500k-250k

Promotion/Relegation.
Set 7th-8th classified always relegated in lower league. It will increase in-league competition, and it will allow best 50% of 1st classified in lower leagues to be automatically promoted (vertical mobility).

Other play-off matches will be played as actually, with the following difference.
If the higher league team wins the play-off, fanclubs mood must modify: half increase for higher league team, half decrease for lower league team.

Maybe matches schedule can be revised.
Actually we play matches 1-7 and 7-1 (specular system), we can change it setting matches 1-7 and 1-7 (regular system)

I was thinking about this downside. And if we abolish qualification, the way to the top will be faster.

Problem might be in countries with the most users (especially if we were to expect the rise of the user base in the future), as there would be just too many divisions.

1st Div: 1 league = 8 teams
2nd div: 2 leagues = 16 teams (24 totally)
3rd div: 4 leagues = 32 teams (56 totally)
4th div: 8 leagues = 64 teams (120 totally)
5th div: 16 leagues = 128 teams (248 totally)
6th div: 32 leagues = 256 teams (504 totally)
7th div: 64 leagues = 512 teams (1016 totally)
8th div: 128 leagues = 1024 teams (2030 totally)
9th div: 256 leagues = 2048 teams (4078 totally)

I think it would be better to raise the number of leagues from 5th to higher divisions

1st Div: 1 league = 8 teams
2nd div: 2 leagues = 16 teams (24 totally)
3rd div: 4 leagues = 32 teams (56 totally)
4th div: 8 leagues = 64 teams (120 totally)
5th div: 32 leagues = 256 teams (376 totally)
6th div: 128 leagues = 1024 teams (1400 totally)
7th div: 512 leagues = 4096 teams (5496 totally)

Countries with the most users:

Poland: 3206 users (6 divisions now)
Italy: 869 users (5 divisions now)
Romania: 702 users (5 divisions now)
Brasil: 447 users (5 divisions now)

IT'S GOOD IDEA!

+1,

Nice idea, definitely the second option is better.
Currently, the season lasts about 4 months, let's assume that a country has 6 divisions, so theoretically you need to play about a year and a half to reach the highest division. And now on the example of Poland in which as you have stated there are over 3200 users if you would add another 3 divisions to accommodate so many players, now the time to get to the highest division increases to almost 3 years.
While the second option, assuming 7 divisions, can hold almost 5500 players, it will take about 2 years to get from 7 to 1 division, which can be said is more optimistic, however, there is the problem of how to solve promotions and relegations from divisions 5 and even 4 to the last.

Maybe we can ad National and regional football leagues,
First 4 divisions are National leagues...the ones below are regional.

Like in Belgium:
1x 1st class
2x 2nd class
4x 3th class
8x 4th class
16 regional 1st classes,
32 regional 2nd classes,
and so on...
where the regional classes only include managers from "that region" and regions with fewer or no managers being put together or added to 1 other region...

But I'm also tempted to the system of 2x in stead of 4x... It's just more fun!

+1 second option. But the main problem I see, is that, with this new structure, many teams of second, third and fourth division should go down. And I dont know if they will be happy...
2020-04-11 00:26:19
It's just a name design problem:
Second League will be Second League A and Second league B etc ...
2020-04-11 00:26:47
- No play-off (15 weeks a season)
- 1st place: direct promotion; from 5th to 8th place: direct relegation.

It's hard! For the 5th for sure!
2020-04-11 00:33:33
It's harder for the first of the lower division, if he isn't promoted.
