Subject: [change] Version 2 New Competition Structure

2020-05-04 13:55:07
achmid to All
This is my proposal, based off slavista's good work

This structure allows each competition to have it's own day.
It is in order, with Qualifiers being the last match of every season.
It shortens the season 2 weeks which should make the devs happy.
It gives every user in sokker 2 important matches every week.
It lets us have regional comps as per FIFA
It give both strong and week teams more important matches, without adding a 4th competition day

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ADDITIONAL IDEA - REGIONAL COMPETITION - AFC, CAF, CONCACAF, CONMEBOL, UEFA

In week 6, taking the place of the National cup for those who are knocked out/finished, you could even start a regional competition where all knocked out teams go in to a regional cup which can hold 256 teams per cup.

Example Below:

Asian Football Cup - All of Australia, New Zealand, Al-Jazar, Prahet Thai, Ozbekistan, Iran, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Hong Kong, Daehan Mingu, Nippon, India, Singapore, Malaysia, Pilipinas.
Would have all or all but the finalist from the Indonesia National cup.
All but the finalists of China.
All but the semi finalists in Viet Nam.

This would last 8 weeks.

Africa - would fit all countries - they could even fit in the Asian Football Cup.

So on and So on for America and South America.

For Europe, they could have UEFA 1, UEFA 2, UEFA 3 etc (256 teams in each), based on rankings of those who are knocked out.

This means that those who are still in their National Cup, are getting at least 6 games anyway, whereas those who get knocked out early, get another competition to join, so more official matches (which they missed out on because they were weaker teams)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So really it would be every team is regional for the additional cup, as per FIFA, and the Regional Cups are 256 teams of those who are knocked out from their National cup, from the countries within that regional. There can be more than one cup for each region, and you are put in order based on ranking points, and they would be labelled UEFA 1, UEFA 2 or AFC 1, AFC 2 etc.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If the DEVs wanted, using UEFA (Europe) as an example, they could even create a more prestigious UEFA, a SILVER UEFA, for those teams knocked out in Week 6 of their European, national cup, and each cup would be 128 teams.
Then an even more prestigious GOLD UEFA 1, 2, 3 for those knocked out of their cup in week 7, 64 teams each one.
PLATINUM etc. etc.

And if they really wanted to make it better, then they could allow a team who has won their cup, to hold off being put in to a UEFA that week, to get in the next even more prestigious one (a checkbox that says to delay one week, but only for winners).

This way everyone in sokker, will get a change to play in a regional comp, and those that get further in their national cup can try to get a more prestigious regional cup.

There is so much flexibility that could happen with this one schedule.

Haha ooh, there's no emoticon I can put in to show my feeling to that lol

I've said some of these things in a different topic, but here it goes :)

I don't like the first league round being 2 days after the qualifiers. Half of the users play qualifiers, it is a part of the league system. I think that if you are insisting on having a dedicated day for the league, the qualifiers should be played on the same day.

International League brings nothing to the game. Slavista proposed it some time ago, I had some time to think about it. It is just a less interesting version of the national leagues. The participants wont understand each other, it would create no rivalries.
Once you start playing Sokker, you get random people in this competition, and then you are stuck with these random people, forever? They are always gonna be some random people you got when you started playing.
Also it forces people to play something the entire season, something less interesting than the league.
2020-05-04 15:57:15
Let's see, you are someone who has wanted a 12 week season, and yet you want qualifier on the same day as league, so that must mean you want only 11 matches in league, or for the schedule to be all over the shop.

If the international league means nothing to you, put your seconds in and ignore it. For me it would bring a lot of joy. Being from a country with very few talkative members, it gives me people to talk too. Google translate is great, and it wouldn't be the first time I've used it (I even get a translate button at the top ofy screen, I don't even need to copy and paste).

Maybe we can move you to a nation with less that 5 users, and see whether having some competition in the game via the international league makes you enjoy sokker more.

I'm sorry you do not like the idea, but given it actually encompasses your own, but adds extra, without adding extra stress on the player, it should be good.

You complained you didn't like the qualification match in the new season, well now it isn't.

Your schedule you produced has matches all over the place, random gaps, it makes no sense and you will cause users to leave or not stick around. It causes confusion
2020-05-04 16:16:31
First, this is a topic about your idea.

You are the one insisting on a dedicated day for the league, and then you treat qualifiers as if they have nothing to do with the league.

I said I tried to avoid having qualifiers and the first league round in the same week. You avoided that by deciding that the week starts on Sunday... First league round just 2 days after the qualifiers.

I cant ignore International League when I have to play it.

Try not to twist my words and my reasoning. If you are gonna use what I said in a different topic, then also use my explanations.
As I said, I prefer 13 week seasons.
I also said, that if you want a dedicated day for the league, I prefer 15 week season over a 14 week season. The reason for that is in your plan, you have 7 days between rounds 14 and 1, and you put qualifiers in there. That is a too busy schedule for a period between seasons.
2020-05-04 16:33:53
Whatever mate. Not sure how qualifiers being put in a spare week of the comp means it doesn't relate.
Yes season starts two days later, because devs want a shorter season.
I am happy to have 15 weeks but it isn't what the devs want.

I also want to look after all people in this game. And yes, you can ignore international league if you dislike it. The international league VS cup even shows more people want a league than a cup in the poll.

But we got your opinion, you don't like this idea, so move on to another topic. Your input in to this one is no longer needed

I am happy to have 15 weeks but it isn't what the devs want.

Devs also don't want a 14 week schedule, but you still made it?
Also, you can clearly see from the devs' plans that they want some space between the qualifiers and the 1st round of the next season. Yet you made a plan that goes against that.

But we got your opinion, you don't like this idea, so move on to another topic. Your input in to this one is no longer needed

Your input about my inputs was never needed :)

I was originally for a maximum of 3 competitions, but this is fine for me. Many users called for the Continental club competition and you find the possibility of how to implement it into this system. For many users, the Cup season ends before it even starts, and those would have the second chance in the Regional Cup. In many Regional Cups, there would not be the top clubs because they would be still playing National Cup, so others would have more chances to go farther.
2020-05-05 01:21:57
That's it, I wanted to make sure I answered the calls of all the users wanting a Continental cup/Regional cup, without affecting the schedule, and given there was a massive gap after the national cup that most countries don't use, found this to be a really good spot to put it.

It also reduces the need for friendlies, which the DEVs realise that in general are being played more for training than enjoyment.

Who knows, someone may have an even better idea for what to do in that time beyond the National cup.

I do like that all teams get 2 major competitions that they get all season long, and that their progress in that is related to themselves only.

Also currently, sponsorship is currently linked primarily to your league level, number of fanclub members you have, and relative number in league, supporter mood etc. and number of leagues below you, which can be quite variable between countries because of the obvious differences they have.
If we are able to use firsts in both International League and National league (with the new training structure) this system would also help to make sure everyone gets Sponsorship on a more "fair" level based on all the variables I mentioned.

With the latest announcement, I think this schedule proves to be even more in line with what the DEVs want.

It's not 12 weeks at this stage, but a nice 14 week compromise, giving teams multiple official matches per season, so people, especially new players coming in mid season, don't get bored.

One thing I never thought of (and probably not keen on but would be open to it), is say the International cup actually commencing mid-season. I don't really like this just due to cycles, but it would help fix the problem of new teams joining part way through the season, and not having to waste their first whole season (because they are already too far behind and out of the cup). It's an idea that may appeal to the DEVs. I think it really is only useful for new players, but as an old player, I could get used to it as well
2020-05-05 11:51:46
Agree with that. New users will always drop off all cups very soon. So just introducing a new Cup is not really a solution.
2020-05-05 12:27:43
+1 to maintain competition for all. This could be ranking match (like U27 IT cup for those you knows..) or something else, but always a challenge.

I don't know about organization of national/regional cup and international cap or league, but i like your proposal: 14 weeks and no more than 3 games per week.
